me and my dw are from seattle and really want to go back down to DLR before our AP expires but we dread searching for the lowest air tickets and end up paying for quite a bit (~$300 each). driving down isn't really an option as we both can't stand driving for more than a couple hours let alone days. Just wondering if any of you vets can share any secrets to getting those cheap air tickets down to so cal. we are also trying to convince a couple of friends to come down too but we are all pretty low on cash and the air fare don't help :confused3 any suggestions?

search search search the airline sites. be flexible, Orange County isn't the only option to fly into. Try Long Beach, LAX, burbank.

Alaska Airlines can sometimes be affordable, Southwest too.

I've got tickets for April on Southwest at $204 ea r/t. feel pretty good about that price. $102 one way. not bad.

Try JetBlue. I know they have flights into and out of Seattle, I'm just not sure if they are connecting to LGB or not. I just booked our flight for $138 round trip (SLC to Long Beach). I also looked at Delta (SkyWest) and theirs were $158. I also looked at Southwest and they had some specials for $109 but I hate Southwest to Orange County as most of the flights have a stop in Vegas or Phoenix for me so I didn't even bother with them. We just love JetBlue and the Long Beach airport!

Best website I have found is kayak dot com, compares all the resellers (orbitz, expedia and cheaptix) with the actual airline sites.

We are flying PDX-SNA, and only alaska has non-stop in the early am and late evening, so I used miles, and brought it down to $136 per ticket RT (50% off reg price.) But when we flew in October we flew US Air to LAX and got $198pp RT. Which I thought was pretty darned good...

I have heard that SouthWest has something called DING fares (you have to actually download something to your computer) but you have to be a member (membership is free).

My favorite site is: airfarewatchdog com

****Go to Airfare of the day, then scroll down (just over halfway). To bad we don't live in Colorado Springs:( flights from there to Ontario are only 88cents (but with all the taxes it's $25). I don't care if I had nothing to do I would go fly just to go fly:rotfl: I want fares like that from Seattle to anywhere in Southern California.

I got tickets for $205 each RT from SeaTac to LAX last week through Orbitz; we fly out a week from Sunday. We paid over $350 RT when we in Los Angeles in early December, so it was a nice surprise.

Southest ding rates are for SEA-SNA are $84 each way. The price expires tomorrow at 6pm cst. Sing up for ding. We've got rates as low as $69 each way from SEA-LAX.

I have been searching for months for inexpensive flights r/t to LAX from CLE (thinking $250). I haven't found anything less than $350/person. We are a family of 5 coming to CA for the first time. Anyone have previous experience with this approximate region? We're going in June. Should I book this price or is there hope for a special yet? :confused3

We got Southwest tickets for our trip March 5th SEA-LAX- 75 plus taxes & fees each way - so like 550 for the 3 of us there and back.

Does that include taxes and where are you flying from?

I priced some random mid-week to mid-week dates in June on kayak dot com... and found $329 on Continental... with taxes I am sure that will be $350... so that is probably what you are looking at... you might want to wait a couple more weeks, checking often... you might catch a break.

Angie- Did you try the frontier website? I don't know your dates but I just found tickets from Akron to LAX for $239. We just booked our tickets through Frontier because they dropped all their prices last night. We had to shift our dates to a Saturday night stay to make it all work out and got our tickets from Denver to LAX for $199.

The Southwest ding and kayak.com are great too.

Good luck!
