Cheaper TS Restaurants

I'm a Disney Virgin as is my entire family and we're trying to figure out some of the cheaper TS options in the parks. The only one I know that I want to visit is the 50's Prime Time Cafe.

It is likely we will be paying out of pocket with no Dining Plan, which is why I am asking for suggestions.

One of the things we like to do when eating at a TS and not on a DDP is share a meal (just like at home). This can really cut your meal costs down. Obviously you can't share at buffets but you can at most other places. (I haven't been to one yet at WDW that you can't-except buffets). You can also opt for an appetizer to eat as your meal instead of an entree.

Some of our fav. TS choices (and reasonably priced, for WDW) would be Kona Cafe (yummy sticky wings-so shareable too), Raglan Road, and Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

Also there are several CS locations that are a great value too and don't seem like fast food. Two in particular are Wolfgang Puck Express (Marketplace) in DTD and Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary. At WPE they even deliver to your table.

We tend not to do many TS meals in the parks. Since we have our own (rental) car we tend to go to resorts and/or DTD.

If you are MK however you can jump on the monorail to go to GF, Contemp, or Poly.

I like Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, and Tutto Italia in Epcot but I wouldn't call them a great value.

We do share meals at 50's PTC and find that the pot roast and fried chicken are totally shareable.

MK-Sorry, no TS value suggestion here though we have liked Liberty Tree Tavern in the past but haven't been back since the characters left.

That's exactly what we plan on doing. If we order one appie and 2 entrees between the 4 of us, we'll be full. And it's not like I want leftovers.

I always book lunches, not dinners. Better selections (like sandwiches) and cheaper. You can easily space off a couple of hours during the high point of touring and get a really good meal. Then, save your snacks for later in the night when all the table service places are packed. Been doing this for years and it works extremely well.

If you go to allears.net, they have the menus with prices which might help you out.

We have shared a few meals (pizza at Via Napoli, Raglan Road, T-Rex). Lunch is definitely cheaper at most places.

Haven't been there for a few years, but I remember Trail's End at Fort Wilderness being an inexpensive buffet - good if you have kids with hearty appetites.

Rose and Crown in Epcot and Sci Fi Diner in DHS and Liberty Tree (lunch only) and Plaza Restaurant in MK are relatively inexpensive also.

Two counter service places: Cosmic Ray's in the MK and Flame Tree in AK have fairly large entrees that are big enough to be shared.

You can share at any restaurant except buffets, all you care to eat family style meals, the dinner shows, Cinderella's Royal Table, Fantasmic Dining Package and the Canyon Skillet entree at Whispering Canyon.

the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at he polynesian is great!! last year it was only around $20.00 per person. it's the one TS meal we cannot miss every trip!!!

Sci Fi at DHS and The Plaza at MK are reasonably priced TS, in my opinion.
