Aren't there cheaper places to buy Disney items right outside of Disney? What are they? My daughter has saved to be able to buy a few things but I would rather take her somewhere cheaper so she can get more for her money. Thanks!

SuperWalmart and SuperTarget both have large Disney sections (cups, keychains, tshirts, beach towels, etc).

My mom still has the walmart tshirt she bought two years ago, and it's still in good shape.

So quality is fine and price is way lower than 'official' stores.

We use the Superwalmart here:

3250 Vineland Road

Kissimmee, FL 34746-4893

It's maybe 10-15 minutes from Epcot Area (I used it when staying at BC, AoA and POFQ).

The road in front is super easy to get on and off of. However your GPS might want to take you to the road behind and it is a toll road, still easy but it is an unattended road and exact change required.

I never have much luck at the outlets either odd sizes or just stuff that was cleareance for a reason like not as popular charecters and such, so either WM or the World of Disney (which is in no way cheaper) have been my main places to shop.

We too typically buy our (few) souvenirs (shirts, postcards, etc) at either Target or Walmart. Super Walmart (like the one PP mentioned) have a huge Disney selection.

I too haven't been very successful at the outlet store.

When we do buy something at the parks, it's usually a special occassion, like the AK bag I bought my DD a few years ago for her birthday. I let her pick out one item and it was her birthday present (well that and a trip to WDW!)

are they really good discounts? is it worth the drive?

Thanks for your expert opinions!

Prices are definetly closer to walmart than disney.

I think my keychains were just a couple bucks a piece and my moms tshirt was around $10.

Plus you can load up on groceries/snacks for the room and if you want a quick meal one night there is a subway in Walmart, that along with a bag of chips from the store and a 2liter of soda and some desert is a great break from QS prices.

The discounts from the Outlet are actually pretty good. If you go online at disneystore.com and look at thier sale prices in the parks section, you will see approximatly what you will in the store. (my local outlet is exactly what you see online pricewise for the same items).

I figure if I'm going to WM for snacks then it's worth it and if I'm going to do some shopping anyway (which I do everytrip) then stopping by the outlet store is just part of the afternoon.

I do not know that it would pan out if you had to take a taxi. I rent a car so it's totally worth it to me, but I think a taxi would eat up your savings.
