cheaper officiants

I was wondering if anybody knows cheaper officiants 2 use 4 our 10 yr vow renewal??? ... $200 for a 15 min ceremony i think is pretty pricey but if i have 2 pay it then i will... just wondering thats all...

If you belong to a church or parish alot of times there is no charge. I'm sure that's not the case in terms of even if you did, likely DFTW is a destination wedding for you (like us!). You could look into a friend or family member becoming ordained, but my 0.02 is that, even if you are doing an escape wedding, the cost of an officiant is one of the smaller ones in your budget. Some do better jobs than others, but few provide a total of 15 minutes of service. It's kind of an important part of the ceremony,no? Good luck in planning - I'm sure you will find a solution to fit your needs!

Because it is a vow renewal and you are already legally married you technically don't need anyone to stand up there with you. You could do it yourselves or have a friend or family member do it. If you do want an officiant the cheapest I've heard of is $150. That is what the swan charges for any of their officiants. When you think about it, it covers travel time and the officiant is usually there for close to an hour (arrives early, leaves late) so IMO the $150 is pretty reasonable.

Rev Tim stayed later at our ceremony and joined us for cake and champagne in the sunshine afterwards. He chatted to us and our guests, and everybody thought he was charming!! He also works on his service beforehand, as each one is different. We thought he was lovely and was more than happy with his fee.
