I have read online that if you look around on the internet for airfare after midnight you can get some good deals. Has anyone ever witnessed any price differences in the early morning hours???

I've been checking for about a week now and have not seen any lower rates after midnight. But I'll keep checking just in case! I, too, would like to know other's experience.

My brother did 2 years ago.

But I tried booking 11 months out at 1:00 am and the fares were expensive. (but I wanted Thanksgiving weekend).

Airfare is just outrageous right now- no rhyme or reason. I paid $177 pp rt and my friends are paying $277 pp rt (they booked 4 months after me) but the fares were showing $1027 pp rt for 3 months. I think once the competition comes into play (Jetblue & SW) delta's fares go down.

I'm looking at $700+ pp rt in Feb 07- so let me know if you get a good deal after midnight!!

In past years I have had this happen to me. The first time it ever happened was November 2001 (DS was 10 months old and I was doing a night feeding). I had been watching airfares for weeks for a February trip. That night I couldn't get back to sleep & decided to check airfares and at 2:30am on a Wednesday morning airfare for EWR to MCO dropped $50 a ticket!!! I booked right on the spot. I thought it was a fluke, didn't give it too much thought.

Fast forward to one year later, watching airfares in October 2002 for our next February trip. I am up in the wee hours of the morning with DS who has an ear infection ~ check the airfares. At 3:30am, can't recall what day it was, the fares dropped substantially!!!!

I eventually mention these two situations to someone who fills me in that it was sort of common for carriers to drop their prices after midnight.

I have another baby in February 2004 - no Disney trip that year.

In fall of 2004 I am planning our Feb 2005 trip... no luck this time. I actually was setting my alarm to get me up some nights so I could go and check! I got a faily decent rate ($170 RT) during the daytime hours

Fall 2005 - planning for february 2006. Got a fabulous rate during the day $130 RT ~~ no getting up late for me that year!!

I am now watching for our late September trip (taking advantage of free dining). Best I can find is $208 RT - I may set my alarm a time or two before I give in and book :rotfl:

edited for typos

I had some luck with this a couple of years ago with US Air and I was able to snag 4 round trip tickets at $78.00 each. We couldn't afford not to fly, as you can tell, I am from NW, NC also. Right now we plan on driving to Disney in June, but if I can find a great deal on airfare I will get it. Currently the best I can find is with AirTran, and surprisingly it is less to fly from Charlotte with Airtran than it is from Raleigh for the month of June. Let me know if you find any specials. GOOD LUCK!

Well, no changes in price at this point, and I just don't think I'll be up much longer to keep checking. There is a nonstop out of Raleigh for $207, I'm "ok" with that price, but Raleigh is 3 hours away versus an hour and a half to the Charlotte and Greensboro airports. However, the flights out of these closer airports are around $50 more per ticket. DH told me to go ahead and get the $207 tix, but now I'm scared. It's a lot of money and I haven't found the courage to purchase :guilty:

Never found cheaper flights after midnight. I work nights so that is usually when I check.

BUT ON SUNDAY MORNINGS....YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS very good deals!

Just booked a nonstop from Allentown, PA to Sanford, Fl for 89.00 each way with assigned seats. If I didnt want assigned seats it would have been 79.00.

I cant even get a connecting flight for less than 160.00 normally!
