Looked at the prices at the moment to go to US for about 3 days next year and it looks really expensive (compared to what we have paid before). It is (or will be) three years since our last visit (well to US Orlando anyway - went to US Hollywood a afew weeks ago)

A couple of people reported paying $99 for a 7 day ticket last January and I remember that this was a similar price that I paid before. I wonder if it is around this time of year that deals come out. Also fancying going to Seaworld for a day too so wondeer if a combined ticket might be better.

We are also wanting to stay at Hard Rock for 2/3 nights - when would be the best time to look for discounts?

I wouldn't be counting on many discounts this year. The huge popularity of Harry Potter has pushed demand quite high and the need to discount tickets isn't really there.

I just found the BEST price for 1 day tickets!!!!! Coke rewards has them for 1000 points. I am so glad I have been saving for something GOOD! You can get 2 per account. That will make our mini budget trip just a little sweeter.

Do you think this will affect room rates, too, damo? I'm thinking "not as much", but maybe I'm being hopeful.

Lunchlady - Thanks SOOO much for posting about the Coke Rewards points. I just ordered 2 for my DS and his DGF for their trip in January. I just saved myself a bunch of $$$ and got to use up some points that I can't ever seem to use.

Room rates were really good this year even with the high demand. I'm hoping for the same next year.

We are going the end of October for a few days. We haven't ever been at this time of the year before. We were at Wizarding World on Grand Opening Day so we are hoping for a different trip this time. Getting the tickets for free has made my day!

Sorry where can I find these tickets? Thanks

Sweet, thanks. I'm planning on getting an AP to take advantage of room discounts.

I have to be honest, I'm really sweating the timing on this, though. As a DVC member, I'm conditioned to schedule our stays 11 months out. Now, I really have no idea when to do it. I have to buy the AP (the payment plan is nice), then wait and pounce on the AP rates, whenever they come out.

I can't wait to go (devouring Kelly's book now), but dang this is stressful!

After you've done your first Universal visit, you will realize how laid back it really is and you won't have to work so hard planning and stressing for the next vacation.

I am going to Orlando from Dec 5-17 and planned on doing Disney and maybe checking out Universal. Now it looks like I will be getting the 4 day ticket for sure. This will be my first time to both. :thumbsup2

You don't have to be a FL resident to use the AP discounts...just a passholder. ;)

Keep an eye on Mapleleaf, they sometimes run good deals in limited numbers.
