Ok Title pretty much says it all. It will be Me myself and I, my son 19, daughter 18 on our first trip to WDW.

What do you reccomend for hotel that is safe and close to everything. Best for transportation to and from park and it is cheap.

We will be there in middle of June.

Any ideas?

Well, any of the on site Disney Value resorts wold meet your criteria. If you're looking for offsite resorts, you'll want to look at our Orlando Hotels and Attractions board for lots of suggestions.

I agree, check out the Disney Value Resorts, Pop Century has it's own bus route that isn't shared. The All Star Resorts share one route, which means more stops.

Some offsite hotels do offer a shuttle; I believe they drop people off at the TTC, and the guest must then navigate to the parks from there.

You wont save much off property....after you include resort fees..
Just stay at a value.

If you do decide to book a Disney value resort room, keep in mind that since you will have 3 adults staying in the same room, that there will be an extra charge per night for the 3rd adult.

There won't be any off site resort that has transportation as good as a WDW resort. Plus you will still have to figure out how to get to that off site resort to start with.

When exactly are you going? Disney has a Spring Savings offer that is good thru June 14. It would save you 20% at the Sports and Music resorts.

Without a discount the Value resorts start at $133 a night in June. And you would have to pay an additional $10 a night for having a 3rd adult in the room.

The closest thing you would find to a Disney resort would be one of the Down Town Disney hotels. Some of them will cost a little less than a Value resort, maybe around $100 a night. Their shuttles run every 30 minutes, and shuttles are shared among the DTD resorts. Plus they drop you off farther out in the parking lots.

I would definitely stay on property - between Magical express providing free transportation to and from the airport, and the good, frequent transportation from the resort to all the parks, it's a no brainer.

The "free" transportation from off property hotels isn't frequent, and frequently isn't really free because they hold you up for a tip. It's inconvenient, often shares with other off property hotels and you have to get to the hotel from the airport, which adds cost.

I always saved money in a value room by taking a small cooler and having breakfast and snacks in the room. This also allows you to get out the door faster.

I agree completely! I've never stayed off property for this reason. The only time I didn't stay in a Disney resort was NYE three years ago. We stayed at the Hilton in DTD which was wonderful and comfortable as can be BUT even their shuttle schedule was a bit annoying and that's still on Disney property.
