Just been looking at hotel for August and found these prices on Hotels.co.uk
They seem cheap to me for Disney property but I am no expert as I prefer offsite(I am not paying $500/year for wireless internet access)

I searched Aug 10-17th other dates probably available.
All stars £42/night
POR +others £74/night

Some work out cheaper on Expedia with 1 free day offer they are running but some cheaper on hotels.co.uk

As the US children will have gone back to school you can get some good deals as most UK people book so far in advance as well so occupancy rates can be lower, deals can be had

Maybe thats what it is, I dont know but last year it didn't really quiten off all August with the free DDP. I still wouldn't pay £25/night for a Allstar room but hope prices are good for somebody.

Have you looked at getting an Annual Pass and then looking at the AP room rates?
Only the person making the booking needs an AP, and if you are not using the Disney Dining Plan you can get a Disney Dining Experience Card (DDE) which gives you 20% off all table service meals :)

AP discounts can be quite good - $25-$40 off per night depending on season (value resort).

2007 Rack rate for value resorts during value season (5th Aug-3 Oct) is $82 plus 13% tax (Pop is 12.5% tax).

2007 Rack rate for moderate resorts during value season (5th Aug-3 Oct) is $145 plus 13% tax for standard view.

If you book your accommodation through Dreams Unlimited they will apply the AP rates (or any better rates) that become available.
