:worship: What can i say - Thanks to Wayne flights are now booked for our august trip, What he just did for me goes way beyond the call of duty and i cant thank him enough :worship: Dont worry about cocktails mate this year when we go round the world you can get blind drunk and it wont cost you a dollar :thumbsup2

Anyone looking for August flights there are some Miles and Money PE deals there.

Spent quite a while this evening sorting out flights for Mart and his family. VA are quoting £7,041.45 for 5 seats, we managed to get them for almost half that using miles & money, quite a nice saving.:thumbsup2

Nothing for our dates.going on 17 th bk on 1 st sept. Still showin 954 for econ no m+m flights. 2 nd is our latest date return due to ex wife of DB stupid decision tht a 4 year old cant hv time off school but she can take her out for 3 weeks when she feels like it:mad:
Looks like indirect for us.
Well done mart. Jammy devil. Wayne u should charge him for ur services:rotfl2: he can afford it:rotfl:

14th-29th are still available in PE £759 (adult) +7,500 miles

Also I managed to get 2 PE reward flights going on a Saturday in July !! last week.......

wonder if VA have finally started being a bit more generous with their reward allocations.

VA more generous? :rotfl2: Personally I think someone has entered wrong details into the system.
Look at these figures
Marts dates to book now for 1 adult £1,462
Price he paid £759 +7,500 miles

Economy £889

Those figures just do not add up to me, however generous Richard is feeling he is not going to give us a 50% discount for 7,500 miles that you can buy for £120

To me it looks like an economy Miles and Money rate, even that at £130 (£889-£759) discount would be generous for August. Someone has got this wrong IMO.

True..but I was very surprised to see any reward availability for July, let alone on a weekend at both ends....

They come and go reward offers, we also have reward seats in PE for this July, booked them back in Sept, they were even in a sale 25,000 miles each way, 35,000 now. although we opted for Wednesday there were Friday available.

Hi !

Big thank you to Wayne too !!!!!!!!!

We always fly PE M+M , this year we were quoted £1051 for 11th July and felt we couldn't justify this price on the new Airbus so we booked Economy M+M at £581 .

Upgraded to PE today both ways at a total cost of £1012 for 8 passengers !!!!!!

Absolute bargain i think !!!!! Can't wait for July !!!!!
:cool1::cool1::cool1::thumbsup2

Sounds a great deal :thumbsup2

Yes, a return trip in Virgin economy will usually get you just over 8,000 miles. That gives you enough for 4 x economy miles & money fares (2,000 each) or 1x Premium economy miles &money fare(7,500)

oh cool lol i have zero. I signed up for asia miles when i went to oz then after when i had no miles added i found out Its only for upper and business class! Sucks i would of had loads lol

I saw this thread earlier today. I had paid £800 for flights, economy out and Premium back using miles so was gutted when I saw that it was now £40 cheaper for PE both ways. So I called Virgin to ask how much is what to upgrade to PE on way out. At first they couldn't understand why it didn't give them a price but then said because flight now cheaper it would only cost me the extra miles to upgrade which for 3 of us was 8000. They even apologised for not being able to refund me the difference of £120. So absolutely delighted. First time I have ever got a deal like this on m&m. So thank you for posting this as I wouldn't even have thought to look. I hate checking prices once I have paid. Flights still showing £750 PE both ways. Lots of dates.

Can you use miles and money to upgrade as I have already booked our flights or can you only use just miles or just money?

I am such a newbie with all this flight stuff lol :)

The economy fares for some july dates are also cheap (well i thought so)

Adult MM £486
Child MM £417

I was hoping for fares of around £400 indirect and wasnt even looking at direct due to prices but am v happy at just over £1800 for direct in kids holidays:cool1:

Ring VA and ask what options they can offer.

I called the Flying Club direct so would urge anyone who has booked an economy flight and has some miles to give it a go. As I said, first time I have ever got a good deal like this. I always ring about upgrades but they usually want £250 each way per person!

I'm also a complete newbie at the airmiles thing as I always just go to a travel agent and book a holiday! Anyways all I keep reading is about air miles..... Please forgive me I'm only 26 and do not understand how you can even start getting airmiles in anyways shape or form! I always thought you only got them having a business or flying like weekly lol so I'm guessing that's not the case:rotfl2: you have my permission to fall in the floor laughing:) either way I've now flown as an adult over 20 times and feel utterly stupid that I know NOTHING!!!

Airmile schemes are not the easiest thing to understand but you can claim\earn miles in numerous ways, easiest is to fly with the airline, doesn't matter which class, economy usually gives you 1 point for every mile flown (about 8,000 to MCO and back) more for higher classes. Only exception is if you book a really discounted flight or package holiday they might only give you 0.5 points for each mile flown.

Look here http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/earnmiles/index.jsp
I earn about 10-15k/year with their Credit card http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/gb/en/flying-club/credit-card.html
I earn about 8-10k/year via this company (I think you have to be invited) http://www.e-rewards.com/global_home.do;jsessionid=7673CD629055B096F0CED5CD10E482A6
Once a member invite friends & family who will be flying with them to join via Miles more friends, this earned me another 6k this past year. http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/miles_morefriends/index.jsp

They really are worth collection, over the years VA airmiles have saved us about £10,000, others airlines schemes like Delta & AA another £5,000
