Hiya All

Can anyone please recommend a cheapish hotel/motel close to MCO?

For the first time we are taking the later flight out of Man this coming August and as we staying on the Gulf coast for the first 5 days I'm starting to think we maybe best off with a hotel near the airport on our first night waking up fresh and early for the drive to the coast the next day?

If anyone can recommend a motel say near International Drive or somewhere we can get a bite to eat it would be appreciated.

Many thanks

I don't know much about hotels around the airport but what about driving to LBV or near maingate on Hwy192. Plenty of cheap hotels around there, lots of places to eat and easy access to I4 the next day.

Monarch.co.uk have some quite good offers just now with 10% cashback via Quidco, although expires in 1 hour so you might miss it.
Is it the 4th August?

Orlando Vista Lake Buena Vista £27.67
Maingate Lakeside Resort (Best Western Lakeside) £28.27

After 10% off both a good price.

With 100's of hotels in lots of areas to choose from its difficult advising.

Once you pick a hotel post your best price and I will look and see if I can see cheaper.

We stayed at a HoJo a few years ago - was about a 10 min drive from the airport. I think it was this one:

http://www.hojo.com/hotels/florida/orlando/howard-johnson-inn-airport-florida-mall/hotel-overview

It was about £30 a night, basically like a Travelodge. You get 2 double beds as standard so plenty of room if your travelling with family. We booked it on Expedia in the UK.

We flew during the ash cloud and would definitely recommend staying over if you're getting there late - our flight didn't land until nearly midnight so we were delighted to have somewhere to sleep before driving down to Bradenton the next day!!

As Wayne mentioned, the LBV / Maingate hotels are better access to I4 but also depends if you're confident driving at night in the US. It was my first time driving so I didn't want to go too far that late at night!

Hi

Last Sept we stayed one night at the best western for £50 for 2 ad 2ch service was great and large room with all mod cons and toiletries very clean and included breakfast and a free shuttle to and from airport - we booked direct on their website :)))

Thank you all for your replies.

I got a quote last night at the 4* Caribe Resort, I think it was £63.00 for a 2 bedroomed Suite (we are a family of 6) via expedia with I think 7% off via Quidco.

Thats for 1 nights stay on the 4th August which I thought was quite a good price considering the occupancy.
