My friend and I will be staying at Pop Century in October for our girls only trip - woohoo!!! We are driving down a day early so that we can have our whole POP check-in day to enjoy WDW!

Can anyone recommend a good first night hotel? We don't need any amenities what-so-ever really, as we will literally just be sleeping there and checking out asap the next morning. Preferably something nice and clean, of course! :) And as close to Pop Century as possible!

I can't wait to hear your suggestions!

We always stay at "The Pink Hotel" as it has become known on 192 (Irlo Bronson Highway) in the Westgate area. Right at the Carrabbas restaurant. It is convient to Black lake rd, a back way in to Disneys Osceola parkway and a straight shot to anywhere Disney. Very close to AK and can see the AK Lodge from it. Always clean, and usuall online for $40 a night. Continental Plaza Hotel it is called now. We have stayed probably every trip in the last 7 or 8 years. We arrive 1 day early before our weeks at Orange Lake or BWV every year. Cheap, yes, but not at all nasty or dangerous.

A Hotels.com search shows $35 a night for this weekend.

Hope it helps

We just got a great rate at ASMu for a Sat. in Sept. $75.00(totalwith Taxes) for the night before we move over to BWV. That was only about $25 more than for outside of Disney. I'd check the rates for onsite.

I used Priceline to get our first night hotel. We are going to Universal first, so I just chose that "zone", but you can choose a zone closer to Disney. I got a 3* for $40 for the night. It is the Radison Orlando on International Drive. It got pretty good reviews.

Thank you guys very much! I'll definitely check all those out!

I actually think we have talked ourselves into just staying another night at Pop Century. lol We plan on getting there before 5:00 in the evening, so that will give us a pretty good amount of time on that first night. Plus, since we are hoping for free dining to be extended, that would give us 2 more meals and two more snacks!

Thanks again guys, I'm still going to keep those places in my planner for future reference!

Check out the Comfort Inn on Palm Parkway. Clean, close to Disney and usually have cheap rates.

We just stayed at Travel Lodge East, its next to the big Orange on Irlo Bronson and it was cheap - $39 per night on expedia. It was nothing more then a sleep for us.
