I need to book a cheap hotel for one night. We are staying at CSR, but are driving down the day before our resort stay. Just somewhere to sleep basically. The last time I just picked cheap, it was somewhere in Georgia, and was incredibly gross and rundown, so I don't trust myself to pick anymore! We are looking for somewhere in Orlando, doesn't have to be too close to WDW. We may do DTD that night, but other than that, just a night to rest up. Oh, and it will be black Friday. :faint:

No help with off site as we too did that once and we too ended up with a gross place. It was NYE and we could not find somewhere else to stay so we refuse to do that again and just budget that extra night...ANYWAY....The time we did that we ended up being at CSR at 7:00am and they were wonderful. Got us checked in, found us a ready room....got our luggage to our room AND got us a taxi to the MK so we would be there for rope drop. Now, never expect all of this but we love CSR and have found lots of Magic there. I would at least check in before you hit parks and go from there.

Whenever we want a decent, clean room for just 1 nt we use Hotwire. Unlike Priceline, HW allows you to search for more than just 2 guests. We stick to 4* to be safe. (You choose the region and * level.)

Also www.betterbidding.com keeps a list of all "wins" based on the region, * rating & list of amenities. Many times they have told me what hotel I'd be getting & were always correct.
4* is usually something like a Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, etc. I'm afraid to go any lower & end up with some No-Tell Motel.

Thank you! We got a free dining pin that doesn't start until 11/30, so we are just going to stay somewhere 11/29, which is when we had planned on going. If you ever drive down through Georgia, do not stay at the HoJo in Valdosta! It was disgusting, and my kids didn't even want to stay there. I checked the travel websites, but wading through the reviews can be overwhelming, and like I said, I don't trust myself. I think I have about decided on Holiday Inn though. A Holiday Inn is pretty much always the same. Nothing great, but clean. But with my luck.... Thanks though!

Ask over on the Orlando attractions board, there are a lot of hotel recommendations over there and a lot of people who stay offsite regularly and can advise.

I have stayed at caribe royale before checking in and I have also stayed at staybridge suites . I think it was on international drive . Not sure how much I paid for the room though ...

We stayed at the holiday inn express on palm parkway. It is right outside of downtown disney. It was very decent and the price was great. We got the exact room we reserved and they have a nice breakfast in the morning.

I'm not sure how cheap you were looking for but there is Clarion Hotel in Lake Buena Vista. https://urlbookings--ihotelier--com...ake-Buena-Vista/select_rooms.jsp?hotelId=2023

It is a Disney Neighbor hotel and 5 minutes away from DTD. That's per their website. I've never stayed there personally but my co-worker vacations in Orlando a lot with her family and said this hotel was very nice for the price. $60 to $70 for a night is cheap in my book!

I stayed there one night in July 2011. It really wasn't bad for the money but it isn't a luxury hotel. 5 minute drive to DTD.

On black friday last year, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Castle on I drive. It cost $87 and it is connected to one one of our favorite restaurants - Cafe TuTu Tango (check it out on line). We had a relaxing arrival of swimming, dinner and their outstanding sangria and walked back to our room.

If you are looking for a place to stay by Disney then the Baymont on Blacklake Rd is a good one. Runs about $60 a night and you get a suite. Its 5 minutes from the AKL. You can walk to Mc'D and a few other fast food chains which are right across the hotel parking lot. There is also a 24 Walgreens that is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Super Target is 8 minutes from the hotel. When you leave the hotel make a left turn, when the road (Blacklake rd) deadends turn left again you will be on Sherberth Rd. At the first traffic light on Sherberth you will see the AKL on your left.
