Okay I asked this question of Disney people and I got a little flamed. People accused me of trying to buy my nieces friends or that I should make a donation in the classes name to something. Thats all well and good but the girls asked if we could buy them something.

What I want to know is what would be a good gift (cheap) for my 2 nieces (age 9 & 6) to take back to their classmates? They each have 22 kids in the class. I did get one good idea for Disney was a bag of mickey shaped pretzels to pass out at snack time.

Just wondering what would could we find at Universal. We will be doing both parks and staying at PB.

Thanks

We always did that when our kids were in grade school. There are some great candy and gift shops in the Suess area.

Some people on the WDW board do tend to flame easily, don't they? The people over here are much nicer. A food type item that the kids can share seems like a good thing.

Jurrasic park gift shop had some nice gifts - things like erasers, pencils, mini dinos, etc.

I think it is a great idea and don't understand this flaming. If you don't have a helpful, sincere answer, I do not know why you have to post a reply.

Okay. I'm liking the eraser idea. I think you may be able to find pencils as well. I know my son bought an oversized pencil at the Twister gift shop, but I do not remember if they had normal sized pencils. The oversized one was $4 or $5.

Stickers? Do any of the Islands or shops give out free ones?

The only place I know that gives out stickers is Kidzone. If you find the person with the stickers, talk to them. They just might give you a strand of stickers. Since those will be free, I'd say that would classify as inexpensive. :jester:

And yes, I'm being serious.

I'm not really sure what qualifies as "inexpensive" to you. What I have done when shopping for a large quantity of gifts is look for packages of things. I know a few years ago at WDW they had pens that came 5 or 6 in a package for less than $5.00. When you try to buy things individually they cost so much more. I'll bet Universal has similar packages of pens, pencils, or erasers.

I believe there is a Universal discount store at the Premium Outlet Mall on Sand Lake. you might also look in the tourist trap stores on I-Drive. They might have more to choose from, even though it might not be official Universal stuff. I bought a stuffed tweety bird (small) for my niece for $3, if that gives you an idea of the prices.

I am sure it will make your daughters feel good to share something with their friends. It won't matter how much it costs. The idea of making a donation in the class name is a sweet thought, but just silly in this circumstance. Whoever suggested that probably does not know young children very well.

You might like the idea of buying a book or something for the class to use, and the teacher to keep for next year.

The outlet store at Belz Has some great stuff to choose from. And there is always the pressed pennies.

I originally saw your Disney thread and thought there were some good ideas there. I am sorry to hear it deteriorated on you.
