I saw small news item in the travel section of the Toronto Star today. Sunwing is offering flights to Orlando for as low as $49.00. I went to the site www.sunwing.ca and played with some dates. I found a week at the beginning of January that had fares at $19.00 Canadian to Orlando and $30.00 return to Toronto. I don't know anything about Sunwing but it sure was tempting.

That's awesome! I looked for the last week in March which includes Easter and it's $1125 for all 5 of us!
I'm going to call them tomorrow.

I tried playing around with dates and found flights for $19 one way and $30 going back. So it was $49 round trip...however, when I clicked on book it...i got a shock...with taxes, the flight came out to $450.00!!

That $450.00 CAD is for 2 people. My daughter and I paid $1300.00 CAD for air fare last year. I don't think I've ever seen air fare this low before.

Sounds like good rates to me..... so I checked it, it worked out to be $2400 including tax for 4 people flying out Dec. 19 and Returning Jan 2!!!!! Yikes, holiday pricing. So we will still be driving obviously, unless anyone has any other suggestions for cheap air fare (yeah, I know, don't travel over the holiday season) lol.

I use travelocity.ca I usually try to fly ouy of Syracuse or Rochester.
It's usually cheaper than SouthWest

Wow!! Just had a look, you guys in or near Toronto are very lucky. We paid close to 700.00 ea from Winnipeg (connecting through Toronto) for Feb. One ticket is paid for with airmiles though. I checked our dates, so cheap until I had to add the getting to Toronrto costs, lol oh well.

Those are excellent prices :)

hey dreamerAl

How long is the drive from Kingston to Syracuse and to Rochester?

I live in Peterborough and have flown out of Buffalo several times ( but I have gone with people from Mississauga so Buffalo was closer).

I'm thinking that SYR is a closer drive for me....what do you think?

We are doing the August Repo cruise and flying into LAX and out of MCO on the return.
Its way off but I booked it already with WestJet now they are flying into the U.S.. The price for YYZ to LAX was $228 per person Canadian ALL taxes and fees included.
The return from MCO is $180 (Can't book yet) Canadian all taxes included.
The prices are good. Its the #)*@)*%$)_#@* taxes that kill you. At least the taxes are much more reasonable as you're heading north.

Cheers,
Grumbo

If you're looking for information on the best seats to get on which plane type for which airline, check out http://www.seatguru.com. Alas, Westjet isn't listed but a number of airlines are.
