Cheap Disney DVDs

Anybody know of a good place to get cheap new/used Disney DVDs? Looking to get a good amount of movies for our DS(3) to watch on our 20 hour drive to WDW this fall.

Check ebay or amazon. Also, my dad and I used to go to pawn shops and get dvds for $3! Most of them looked brand new. We also have a place similar to Blockbuster that has used ones too for sometimes cheap.

Yard Sales! Just check for scratches before you buy them.

You could maybe try Walmart. They often have those big bins of $5 DVD's you can rummage through. Might be some old Disney movies in there. Another idea is to keep an eye out for video stores that are closing. I've seen several Blockbusters closing here and they were liquidating all their movies. Other video stores (those not going out of business) will often sell their older rental DVD's so you can sometimes pick up deals there.

I don't think so -- Disney's long-time strategy is to keep their classics "new" every six or seven years, which means you'll never see them in the "bargain barrel" at Walmart.

Besides, if you take a look in the barrel, it's mostly low-grade films that didn't do well at the box office (or hits that have been forgotten).

Shoot! Which titles are you looking for? I've got nearly the entire disney movie library (once on VHS, and donated them), upgraded to DVD, and am now in process of upgrading all to Blue Ray.

When we went on long driving trips with our son we used Redbox. It's only $1 and you can return them and get more at one down the road. It was very convenient and easy, most McDonalds have one around here.

Redbox can also be found at many other places beside Mickey D's (Walmart, Walgreens, and Kroger come to mind).

Garage sales if you want ones to keep, Redbox if you are just looking for one time usage.

Rent them from Redbox. They charge $1 a night, and you can rent from any redbox and return to a different one, so it's great if you are traveling. You can also buy used movies from the Redbox for $5 or $7 (though it looks to me like not all redboxes allow this option)

If you have Netflix, just put them at the top of your queue so that you get them prior to your trip, then keep them during your trip.

Finally, ask family and friends if they will let you borrow theirs, or borrow from your library.

Our Costco has several Disney DVDs for $8.99. They are older and maybe less popular titles, but there was still several options when we were there on Wed. Titles included Three Muskateers (Mickey version) and Fun and Fancy Free. Many of them were movies DH and I remembered watching as children.

Our neighbor just sold about 50 at a garage sale for $1 each. She had a hard time getting them sold but finally someone came along and bought the whole box. I would look at yard sales since I have seen others sell disney dvd's very cheap.

Good point, I've actually never seen one in a McDonalds! Every Walgreens and most Grocery stores here in CT have them.
