We are arriving in sunny (we hope) California on Thurseday. Waking the kids up at 4 am and throwing them on a plane with no explanation of where we are going! They will be sooo surprised.

We're staying at the West Coast Anehiem. We are shuttling from the airport, so have no car or other transportation. Any sugestions on how to have a quick cheap breakfast? I thought the hotel had a continental. Wrong! Oops.

Thanks for any sugestions.

We used their little take out coffee place. It had cereals, fruit, juice, milk , coffee, pasteries.

(I never go on vacation without packing the standby instant oatmeal in my luggage:) )

To the south of the Westcoast is the Hilton which has Krispy Kremes delivered daily, sold downstair near the gym (go figure). Across the street from the Hilton (again to the south) there is a full-service Starbucks inside the Marriott.

There's a McDonald's on Harbor.

The bakery in Downtown Disney isn't completely unreasonable for croissant, danish, or other baked good and some juice and coffee.

Wow! Thanks for all the great suggestions.

Only two days!! Yeah!!

But the last time that I stayed at WestCoast Anaheim hotel, (which is now the COAST Anaheim Hotel) Kids ate free at all meals.
They gave me a voucher when we checked in, for each meal while we were staying there for my son. We never used them, because there was a dance competition while we were there, and the place was packed. But, I've known others that have used them this past summer.

It was a real bargain for their family to eat at the coffee shop.

Holy cow you're right! How did I miss this. The kids eat free with a paying adult. I am soooooo glad you mentioned this. Somehow I overlooked this great perk.

How do all you experts feel about the Coast Hotel? How is the shuttle? Is it too far to walk? Is a taxi a better option? I'd love your comments.

Thanks!

I just got off the phone with my travel agent. This does NOT include breakfast. This is (of course) the only meal we will be at the hotel. Has anyone actually been able to get breakfast free for the kiddos? I'd love to hear how.

Thanks.

I just got off the phone with my travel agent. She said breakfast is not included in the kids eat free deal. Has anyone out there been able to get the kids breakfasts free? I love to hear about this.

Thanks

That we got 3 vouchers per day.......! But this was over a year ago, so maybe they don't do this now.

We walked almost every day to the parks. While the walk was farther then some hotels, I enjoy the morning walk to the parks. I believe we took the shuttle only once. I don't believe a taxi would even be necessary.

I would pack some instant oatmeal, hard granola bars and some of those carnation instant breakfast or the milk and cereal bars. If you go back to the hotel mid day, maybe stop by the bakery in Dtd or on Main Street and take a few things back to the room for the morning.

If you get to DL for opening, you could always go to the Bakery in DtD and eat while standing in line.

to ask for a room facing Disneyland. We did and had a huge balcony with a perfect view of the parks. It was beautiful at night! We really liked this hotel. Have a great trip!:earsboy:
