Cheap antivirus software

Anyone know of the best deal? My laptop has to be sent out by Geek Squad, so I dug out my old laptop in the mean time, but I need to put new antivirus software on it, as the old one is long since expired. I don't want to pay a lot of money for it, as it is only a temporary fix til I get my good laptop back. Thanks!

All three are free and just as good (and most of the time better) then anything you pay for. I would NEVER pay for antivirus.

There are some good free ones out there. Just do a google search. Also, run spybot and malware bytes..

AVG, have it on all our computers.

I've been using avast for at least 5 years now (for free) and I have no complaints!

go with the MS program. It does a good job and updates when windows updates itself.

My vote is for Avast have it on all my computers including my Mac.

Microsoft Security Essentials works surprisingly well. Doesn't use too many system resources and updates behind the scenes. I used to use Norton but it slowed my laptop down too much.
