My Sprint contract is finally up this month. I was planning on limping along with my current not-too-smart phone that takes awful photos (except at the beach for some reason) and cannot install a single app without running out of storage.

I have been thinking of using Ting since my current phone is Sprint, but really the phone is pretty much dead weight in my purse, so if I buy another phone I'm open to any non-contract, inexpensive service.

I rarely talk on the phone. I rarely text. I go online sometimes but I could honestly do without that. I really just need a camera that works at least as well as DH's iPhone 4 that can also be used as a phone. :rotfl:

Are there any phones that are inexpensive without contracts (under $100 would be ideal) that have good cameras?

I have several Nikon cameras. Have learned nothing like a real non phone camera !

The perfect service for is Trafone that run off the Verizon network.

LG Optimus Dynamic™ II - Android

...or wait for the LG Optimus Fuel, coming to Tracfone soon. Will have front and rear cameras.

But the Dynamic II is my current phone, and for the price, hard to beat.

Maybe you'd be better off with an iTouch rather than an actual phone? You could probably buy a used one for a fairly low price, and you wouldn't need to pay for ANY service at all. You could still text or skype if you had wifi, and you'd be able to use apps and take pictures. It might not be idea, but depending on exactly how you are going to use it, maybe a workable solution.

Thank you! I haven't had a Tracphone in a couple of years so I'll look into those. I do need a phone (can't just have an iPod) since we don't have a land line anymore.

Moto G $150 and then you pay $10 or $30 per month. $10 is unl text and talk [includes picture mail]. $30 is unl. text talk data. Both my dds have this service. It's great. I can pm a referral email if allowed and you and I would get $20 off [if not allowed, ignore]. I have tmobile $30 data plan but only has 100 minutes of talk. service not as good as republic but you can buy any cheap phone that uses their technology so that might save money. Before that they hat chitchatmobile which was $10 but didn't include picture mail...

Thanks! I have gotten as far as choosing Ting over Republic wireless.IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE Samsung Galaxy 2 for around $100. I have to look up reviews and see if that's a fair price. In our first two months using Ting over Sprint we should recoup the value of the phone.
