Okay folks, your the experts!! Do you think I can get airfare under $800 for April vacation. I am hoping to leave either April 17, 18, or 19 for 7 days. I can leave from either Providence, RI or Boston, MA. If I can't get cheap airfare we probly won't do Disney this year.:confused3.
On a side note, if anyone has been during April vacation how bad are the crowds?
Thank You

You should be able to get an airfare for under $800.00, I am looking to go the week before and the price is around $300.00. I am also flying from a small airport where prices are usually higher. I went to Disney in April last year, around the time you want to go and paid not quite $300.00. If you can fly on a Tuesday, Wed. or Thursday, you will problaby get a cheaper price. I would never pay for that much for a flight. Also the crowds were not that bad, when I was there. I even was able to get in earlier on my ADR for dining.

89 days until Christmas with Mickey and the Gang.

Sorry forgot to add we are a family of 4. I was hoping to pay under $800 for 4 tickets. Think that will ever happen or am I looking at between $1100 and $1200 for the tickets.

sorry Megan, but not a chance. I already booked my airfare, for 385.00 per person RT already. But that is booking one ways, Delta 130.00 going down, and USAir at 234.00 coming back. Delta is charging over 600.00 non stop and that is ONE WAY. So if you are willing to go down on Wed. before vacation, they're charging 165.00 one way right now non stop from Logan. Its the return that is the difficult part, you can only take the kids out of school so much (we're taking 2 days from school on the 16th) and so then you're stuck with the Saturday or Sunday return and those fares are out of this world. Everyone on this board is waiting right now for Jetblue to show April, but according to their Feb school rates, its untouchable. Good luck!

I agree with Jillpie. Working around the MA spring break the airlines have us pretty captive. I'm hoping to get in under $1600 for the four of us, looking at Manchester, Providence and Boston during the same time frame. If you don't mind connections and have some time to spend between flights, you might get lucky and get in under $300 per person RT. The next week or so will probably tell.

One point of advice, if you see an acceptable flight, don't wait, grab it fast because they go quickly when they are published.

Good Luck! Here's hoping for a little magic for us all. :wizard:

No....don't give up. You will have a chance...if you sit at the computer on the day SW releases their next round of fares.

I just booked PResident's Week from PVD....nonstop flights for $228 rt each. It was $104 each way plus tax. But...those flights were gone that same afternoon. I paid $1144 for 5 tickets, but now they would cost me $2100.

From what we have found in the past, April break is about the same as Feb. break in regards to the prices from the Northeast.

Also consider flying into one airport and home from another on different airlines...as well as extending the trip a day or two to get a cheaper rate.

Another airport which seems to be cheaper is White Plains if you can drive further.

It takes a lot of work....but I have always gotten lucky. This year, however, was the most expensive I've ever paid and I had to really work to get those rates. But...if I was willing to make a stop along the way, I could have gotten it lower.

Hang in there. I'm thinking positive for you.
