Cheap airfare from Chicago to Colorado Springs?

Hi~

I can't find decent airfare for O'Hare (or Midway) to Colorado Springs. My travel dates are flexible (weekends in April or May) but I still come up with the mid $350s. Are there any smaller but safe airline companies I can look up? (JetBlue, Southwest, things like that...)

I'd rather not fly into Denver b/c it would be too far of a drive and I'm too young for a car rental.

Thanks!

Are you near Milwaukee at all? I am far north of Chicago & fly out of Milwaukee sometimes. Try checking if you're willing to drive there.

There used to be a great airline that flew direct to Colorado Springs in the 90's but they went under - anyone else remember Marge Simpson's blue hair painted up the tail of the plane??

Last time I flew to CO Springs, I had to go through Denver on United and it was pretty pricey with VERY limited options. Sorry...

I live in the Springs, we don't have low-cost airlines flying out of COS. Airfare is almost always more expensive in and out of COS, we usually fly out of Denver. Sorry, good luck!

I have to agree that Denver is usually cheaper!

BTW, my favorite restaurant is in Colorado Springs. I'd make the trip to Colorado just to eat there again.

Okay, I'm nosy and I love to eat, so I have to know -- what's your favorite restaurant that's in the Springs???

I was hoping somebody would ask. I was there on business about a year ago and my co-worker and I stumbled across The Margarita at Pine Creek. I loved it so much that when I attended a wedding in Denver in January, I made plans to spend a night in the Springs just so we could have dinner there. Plus, my husband had never been to Pikes Peak or Garden of the Gods.

Have you heard of it?

I live in Denver and unfortunately we do not have any of the cheaper airlines that fly into CO. Your best bet is to fly into Denver for cheaper airfare.

I'm not familiar with that restaurant, I'll have to look them up!

So helpful everyone, thank you! Good to know that I've exhausted my search at least.

I haven't decided which one I'll fly into yet.

The Margarita is right by where I should be heading. I'll have to check it out too.
