Cheap accomodation on the beach in Florida?

We are currently booked at WDW Dec 18-23 and then near Daytona Beach Dec 23-31. The Daytona hotel will suit me just fine, but my DH would prefer to go somewhere further south (in hopes that it will be warmer).

Question:
Can anyone reccommend accom. somewhere south from Orlando for Dec 23-31?
We are hoping for:
Beachfront (or very close by)
Efficiency room (2 double or queen beds and a kitchen area)
Heated outdoor or an indoor pool (would really prefer an indoor pool)

Any suggestions?
Also: We would be willing do a time share presentation in order to reduce hotel costs.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Well, there are so many beautiful areas/beaches...I agree the further south the better as Dec can be iffy fir the beaches...water temp anyway. My folks live in Naples, not a short drive by any means and there are your basic hotels...days inn, quality inn, Holiday inn and 5 star resorts...Registry, Naples Beach Club, etc. I would do a google search or hotels.com to see...also Sanibel is beautiful, but I am not sure what type of hurricane damage some of the places are still recovering from. I personally like the Bahia Mar or Yankee Clipper over in F. Lauderdale. I am sure there will be many helpers out there, but prices aren't all theat cheap in Dec.

It's very late to be looking for anything for those dates. I've been trying to find something near Fort Lauderdale for a friend for about a month and there is just nothing available. Southern Florida gets as busy as Orlando around the holidays.

Why don't you look on the DVC rent trade board here on the Dis..Vero Beach is so beautiful and they have studios that are on the beach(short walk).We have stayed at Vero and loved it so much..good luck Marianne
