Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

oooo Disney Quest would be just the thing for dh! He misses the arcades of his rebellious teen years, there really isn't any left in our area. Near DL is a place called Nickel Nickel, Albert told me about it, we went a few times the year we lived there.. a little dirty/ crusty around the edges but it was a vidiots dream come true :lmao: New games and classic ones, even the really really bad ones (Michael Jackson and an E.T. one) some as low as a nickel per play. Some give you double play for free, two players can play on the same quarter. If we had something like that we would be there on a regular basis. :thumbsup2

Well, I now have an "adult child"
He turned 18 yesterday. :scared1: :sad1: :woohoo:

We were shopping at Walmart today, somehow Noah wandered away from us and no one knew where he went.
Eloy says "honey, I lost Noah" and I replied "stop losing our children!"

Justin perks up and replies "you still have me".. we both turned to him and laughed "you don't count anymore, you're an adult. You're still our child.. but you know.. as an adult you can get lost if you want to" He replies " gee thanks" :rotfl: meanwhile Noah returns, "what? I told you guys I was going to electronics" and we all replied "hmm, sorry, we don't listen to Noah talk" .. we got the eye roll on that one.

Yeah , we're bad parents. :thumbsup2

Well E. would have LOVED Disney Quest. I'm not a huge arcade fan, but this was really over the top. I do have to say it has a very confusing layout though. Not just big open floors, but maze like. Stairs everywhere, etc. I spent much time on the Classic video game floor. It was video game overload. Good thing we don't live in Orlando, because I have a feeling my DS & DH would have yearly passes to that place.

It's weird to have adult children isn't it? DD turned 19 a couple of weeks ago. Sorta like they are still your kids, but sorta not, but still need guidance, but not really. So I guess now that you've officially lost your children in WM, I can pass on the Mother of the Year award to you!:lmao:

My DS (12) wanted me to let him go to DTD by himself for a couple of hours!:scared1: I have a feeling he was trying to ditch me half of the time at WDW.:sad2:

And so it begins... funny how the first born would never think of ditching the parent but the younger sees how far that parent rule will stretch-- and tried to stretch it more!

HELLO!!

Hope you are all doing well!

Hello!
Well enough thanks! Looks like you have a few runs planned-- go you !

And a cruise that I just booked! I'm super excited, it's been too long. :rotfl: We got a great price (about thesame as what the weekend ones are going for right now) plus we are doing the Spa room again.

Oooooh....there may be life to this little thread after all!!! popcorn::

Popping into say hi :wave2: Unfortunately listening to the Anaheim Ducks losing the first game of the playoffs right now.

WOOHOO!!! Just the person I need...rub a little of that Supercross luck off on me. We're headed up to Qwest Field in Seattle for the race on Saturday. I scored 6 tickets in the 100 level section, between the starting line & the middle. Now all I need to do is win some good stuff like you always do!:thumbsup2

Can i go to? I'm having sunshine withdrawals this week. It was 90 when we left Orlando Saturday and Monday morning i was scraping ice off my windshield! UGGHH!

So where are you going this time? Mehico?

Depends...what's your definition of life?:lmao:

We always buy raffle tickets at the Road to Recovery booth. Usually $20 worth. I don't know if a lot of people don't enter or if we are just lucky, but we always seem to win something. :)

Have fun at the races! I think we are going to get tickets for the finals in Vegas. I just have to see if I can find a cheap hotel first. It's been an exciting season! I's still rooting for Reed! :rotfl:

Yes, we are going back to Mexico. Not our top choice for places to visit but it's the only place cruises out of LA go. We will visit Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo.

I'm excited to dress up for Halloween and decorate our room and door. DBF and I have pirate costumes. pirate:

I think the Ducks play hockey. :confused3

Well I will definitely stop by that booth & purchase a few raffle tickets!:thumbsup2 I was seriously thinking about getting tickets for Vegas. But we've had so much going on lately that my life is so hectic and trying to plan for another trip didn't sound so appealing. Making a few sandwiches for lunch and throwing 6 people into a car for a 2-1/2 hour trip is much easier then dealing with airplanes, hotels, rental cars, meals, etc...

I had a lot of fun on the two cruises I went on. But I get so seasick and even the patch wasn't 100%. I felt ok, not great, but ok. I keep saying that if they made a cruise that just stayed in Port for 2-3 days I would be happy. Enjoy all the ship has to offer without the seasickness!:lmao:

For us Vegas is about 4 hours away.

I luckly do not get sea sick. I  cruises and wish I could afford a really long one. I want to do an Alaskan cruise and a Disney cruise.

Since we are in a spa room we get use of the spa facilities free. Last cruise I spent most of my time reading while laying in this one room with warm tile louge chair things that over looked the water. So relaxing.

Looked really relaxing until I seen the water in the background...then I imagined the boat rocking back & forth ever so slowly...then I smelled the food...then I rushed to the bathroom!lol:lmao:

So how do people take relaxing vacation? My relaxing days at WDW included spending part of the day at Downtown Disney, swimming in the pool and going to the Cirque du Solei show in the evening. My other relaxing day was spent at Disney Quest nearly 6 hours in front of video games.:rotfl2:

I tried to relax this time, really I did. I was sorta successful, I didn't come back feeling completely exhausted. But I never did really sit around and do nothing. Oh well, plenty of time to rest when I die!:rotfl:

oooo the tile lounger looks like it would feel really good! All that nice warmth to sink into but not the overheated all over feeling of a sauna or hot tub.

I love when my massage therapist has a client before me, the heating pad on the table has a chance to get nice and toasty. Let's me "sink" in a bit to unwind and let the muscles loosen. Being first of the day kinda sucks, I think he needs to do some warm up exercises.

Relax.. umm Alison? do you ever relax?? :upsidedow (joking)

Yeah disney trips I need to force myself to just SIT. Though our last trip, before you and Megan arrived, I did pace myself. Kinda drinking in the noises and being still for awhile. My symptoms weren't as bad at that time. Not sure if I can handle the busy busy commando whirlwind style now without some long breaks and use of ECV.

But then again.. I can't predict how I might feel from day to day, hour to hour.

Some days I can walk all around the mall, run errands and still manage to cook, clean, etc in the evenings.

But there are days, I can handle one thing..grocery shopping.. or doing the dishes..or going to my massage apt and back home again... and that's about it.

I'm thankful for not having the extreme pain that I read about on support boards.. overall my symptoms are mild.. but dang irritating! :headache:
I like a predictable routine life. :upsidedow

I've always had a hard time sitting still, but now I think it's worse. After cancer I think I just got it in my head that I needed to get everything accomplished NOW. No time for dilly, dallying around.

Sounds stupid I know, but getting hit with that diagnosis when you're 40 kinda messes with a person's mind.

This August will be my 5 year cancerversary...:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:. Once I hit that 5 year mark, then my odds of a recurrence go way down. I had about a 15-20% chance of surviving 5 years. So I've kind of been walking on egg shells. The 3 year mark was my crucial time, my risk of recurrence peaked and has been steadily going down since then. Obviously cancer can come back at any time and I don't think that fear ever goes away, but statistically speaking, my chances of it coming back are only slightly higher then a person that's never had cancer, after I reach 5 year mark.

So maybe in August I'll take a deep breath, grab a frozen drink and sit down and relax for a few minutes.:lmao::rotfl2:MAYBE!

You know B. I have so many breast cancer friends that have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Obviously they have compromised immune systems. So I think anything you can do to help boost your immune system will help. Sometimes I wonder if I have it also. I have days when my whole body aches and I've done nothing to make it ache. It might last a few days or weeks, but then I feel better and it just magically seems to disappear. It's not really enough to make me seek out treatment. I just work through it, try to get on the best I can and pop a few Ibuprofen now and then.

I just can't wait to see what my 50's or 60's hold in store for me!:rotfl2:

:rolleyes1 remember me? :rotfl2: sorry I haven't been around for a while. We went to Disneyland. It was fun. Hard with two two year olds. We stayed at the park vue inn.. Totally recommend that place. Free full breakfast, and dinner. Nice.

I have been crazy busy. While you guys are getting rid of kids, we are right in the thick of it. :lmao: actually.. We had some... I don't even know... A few weeks ago I found out I was pregnant. Again. :scared1::rotfl2: but I started bleeding almost immediately and lost it. Five days before we left. I never had time to sit and figure how I felt about it. By the time we got back, it was like it didn't even happen. I don't know. We have been trying to get Julie in drivers Ed, Alex got recommended for the highly capable and gifted program... And kaylee is loving kindy. The twins are full on in the terrible twos. It's horrid. I wish I had the gypsies on speed dial! :lmao:

We are contemplating a big move for our family... Alaska. The hubster and I are taking the twinners up to Fairbanks in October. Just to check it out.

There is research pointing to fibro as a neurological problem, which totally makes sense when you read about some of the symptoms. Fibro fog, memory loss, tingling sensations, weakness, dysphasia, blurred vision, unbalanced gait.
Even the symptoms you don't automatically think of as a neuro problem (IBS, interstitial cystitis) have some basis there.

The research also points to cases emerging after trauma and extreme stress. When you think of the meds and other treatments used for cancer.. many cause neurological damage, so it all fits.

Why do I have it? No freaking clue!
Haven't had a traumatic injury, haven't had any immune issues (I get sick maybe twice a year), stress-- well yeah but that's been going on for many years, why have issues now?

Though sometimes I wonder if it's not fibro or maybe fibro AND??? :confused3

I dunno, because some of my symptoms don't fit. (inflammed joints-fibro doesn't cause joint pain, typically pain is in the muscles, symptoms more when it's warm/over heated/spring through early fall -- most fibromites feel better with heat/summer, worse in winter. )

 I'm so sorry Megan. I can understand the feeling like.. "wait.. what just happened? How should I feel?" and then life blurs along at full steam ahead and it all gets tucked away. And yet... still there in the back of the mind.

Alaska?? Is it a relocation possibility with Frelan's job?
And congrats for Alex for the gifted program! :goodvibes

Does your state have the same laws?? Here they can't even take the permit test without proof of classes $350 later.. urgh! If we home schooled, we can teach him ourselves. Or sign up for a lower cost online school but you are required to show proof that you are a registered home school...

I feel it is unfair for low income families.

Hmm: pay this bill, buy groceries, or shell out a couple hundred for the teenager to drive.. uhhhh, guess what- you're waiting until 18 (or pay it yourself- go get a job!):lmao:

Thanks B. It's crazy. We didn't plan in, just weren't cautious enough I guess.. But I was so upset to find out I was, just because we have so much going on that I honestly didn't know how on earth I could juggle another kiddo. Then I just got steamrolled with life I didn't have time to think about what was going on.

She has her permit, but yeah... Classes are going to run us about $500. :scared1: she wants to get a job, but hasn't tried looking or anything. Alaska is just somewhere we want to be. I cant explain it.. He has to find work, once we do that... We go. A new adventure for us I guess. We have talked about it for years, now it's just time to act. I talked to my mom about it last night and I thought she was gonna be really negative, but she was like.. If you feel it.. Go! I think that was what I needed to hear. Just go! Do something new for your family. So we go in October to check it out.
