Well yesterday Renee shared with us that she has only months left. I had a feeling that this what was going on with her. So hard to believe. My Mom is just devastated by the news. As is my Dad.

Morning and Happy Tuesday!!

Yesterday wasn't too bad. Went in to work and didn't have a lot I could do but then mom and I went to lunch and were able to get the rest of our DW stuff done. She paid the balance of the trip and then we got most of our questions answered about ME and such but I am nervous about there being screw ups because we are doing the free dinning but it doesn't start till the 12th and we are arriving on the 11th and at first we were going to stay off property but then ended up getting a room at the coronado so we have 2 separate ressies. So I am hoping that there isn't a problem. Then the guy seemed to be all confused why we want to use ME coming but not going and since we are using our timeshare for the 2nd half of the trip but not checking in till Wed we are worried they might give our room away so there are a lot of potential mishapps that can occur.

I have read a LOT of horror stories on here of things that have gone wrong so I hope that doesn't happen and we have never done ANY dinning plan much less the free one so this is all new to us. I hope it goes ok!

Anyway then I picked up Shelby and took her to piano and Katy and I decided to wait in the car so she could do her homework and there was only one small patch of shade on the guys street and we arrived a bit early so I left to go grab a drink for us and I was gone no less than 10 mins and sure enough I came back and someone was parked there So that was frustrating. I had to park way down on the opposite side of the street but she apparently did well in her lesson and then we came home and went to mom's and she trimmed the girls hair. So it was a productive day!

Now today I am off to mail my exchange package and then I am switching cars with my dad as he has a friend that is going to fix a few things that are wrong with my car. I have a taillight as well as an interior light that are both out. And I STILL need my tires fixed but the place I want to get them is under construction so I am waiting on that but hopefully will be able to do that soon!

I'm an expert on using ME only one way. It's not a problem at all. I use it when we arrive, then go to my sister's house and she takes me back to the airport or vice versa. Just let them know at the front desk when you arrive that you don't need ME on the way back and they will take your name off the list. Besides, it's free; so even if they do mess up, it's not like you're charged for it or anything.

Dining plan...I used it a couple of times. It has changed since then, but I think for the better. They seem to have worked out many of the bugs since I last used it.

My best advice is to use the dining plan at whatever park you plan on being at that day. Also, try to make the dinner plans early in the evening, because there is nothing worse then being stuck at a park with meltdown kids and knowing you have to stay cuz your dinner ressies won't be for another 2 hours.

If you plan on making ressies at another resort, I highly recommend having a rental car. Because if you rely on internal transportation you will go from your hotel to DTD, then have to catch another internal bus to the hotel you are eating at. We did it once at Ohana's at the Polynesian. Food was awesome, but it took nearly one hour to get from Pop to Polynesian.

Also, use some of the counter service credits at your hotel. No need to make ressies and trust me the kids will be so tired that the idea of having a meal at the hotel and being able to swim & relax in the pool will be appealing.

Make your table service reservations ASAP. They fill up fast.

If you make ressies at DTD, study the map. The internal bus stops in two different places at DTD. Getting off at the stop at the opposite end of DTD is not fun with hungry, cranky kids that have to walk 2 miles to get dinner.

My mom and I just planned a trip to Disneyland for Halloween. We are going the 9th and 10th and staying at the HoJo. I made us reservations to do the Happiest Haunts Tour on Saturday evening. I hear this one is alot of fun so I'm really looking forward to it.

Thanks Alison for the info!! I didn't think that doing ME one way would be that big of a deal either but I guess the guy my mom got on the phone was kind of dense LOL. But hopefully it will all work out. I am more worried about them screwing up our ressies because since we have 2 separate ones I don't want to have to move. We specifically asked if we could stay in the same room but I have heard stories of them messing things up. Plus we requested a room close to the main check out because we won't have a car and my mom has a bad knee and can't walk and I heard Coronado is huge. It seems like the last few times we have stayed at Disney properties they have put us in the absolute farthest possible room and esp after walking the parks and then all the way back to the hotel you don't want to have to walk a mile to your room. So hopefully our request will be honored this time. Anyway and as far as the dinning I am sure we will hopefully figure it out I am just not sure how the whole thing works with what we can and can't order etc. But I am sure we will get it all down after a day or so.

I have all my adrs already and I figured what you said was true. We are going to DTD the first night and have an ADR at Fulton's but we are paying out of pocket for that one but we still have to GET there using Disney transport but I made it for pretty late just in case. And then MOST of our TS ressies are at the particular parks we are at that day but I made 2 at resorts during our stay. One at Narcosses but on a day we are at MK so we could just ride the boat to GF and then I figured we could just ride the monorail back to MK and then take the bus back to CSR. And then the day we go to AK we are going to Boma. So I figured we will just get on an AK bus and then we will prob take a taxi back to Coronado cuz I don't want to have to do the bus thing. That would take all night!!

Then we have one at Flying Fish but it is after we get our rental car so that is no big deal.

We are doing Mama Melrose the day we go to MGM, Tony's the day we go to MK, then Sunday we go to Epcot and it is F&W so we have no ADRs for that day and we are just going to eat our way around WS LOL. I didn't want to try and waste any ressies when I know we are going to want to sample all the food and IF we get hungry we can buy cs or use a voucher if we need to. Then Monday we go back to MK and that is our Narcosses dinner, Tue is AK and Boma and Wed is our last day and we have lunch at Marakesch and dinner at Le Chef's de France. We are going to IOA on Thur and have no plans so we will just eat on the fly that day and Fri we are taking the girls to BBB in the morning and shopping at DTD and then have a ressie at Flying fish and are hoping to find a photopass photog at Boardwalk or BC to take some pics of us all decked out with the water and maybe sunset. Hopefully the weather is good!! And then we don't have any plans for saturday yet. Orig we were going to do a day at Kennedy but mom isn't into that. I would love to go back but she doesn't want to so we may try a water park (have never been to one yet) or if the weather isn't good we may do something else but I am hoping to do ICE that day. And then we come home Sunday morning. So that is my trip

Morning and happy Wed!

Well hopefully today won't be too nuts. Yesterday my dad took my car in for me as I had two different lights out. I had a taillight and an interior light in my gear shifter. I was actually just going to fix them myself but he said esp the one in the shifter would be a huge problem. So he has a friend with a shop who did it for practically free which was awesome! But the bigger problem is I have been needing tires for awhile and I have been shopping around for deals but when I was at his house yesterday he was showing me some numbers and I noticed that there is some holes starting to form and wear spots and they look like they could pop at any time! EEK!!! So now I am really afraid to drive on them. I don't want to have a bad blowout that could ruin the rim. SOOO I found a place to get the tires now I just have to finagle a way to get over there and get it done. I am hoping I can get it somehow dropped off today or tomorrow but def this weekend for sure!! And then on TOP of everything there is something wrong with our cat. She goes in and out but a few days ago she never came around and that is NOT like her so then when I came home from work Monday she was not anywhere and I made Shane go find her and I don't know if she EVER ate on Monday and yesterday I kept her in all day and was acting very lethargic and she usually eats dry cat food but I tried giving her milk and some salmon that we had leftover and when a cat won't even touch fish you know there is something wrong!

So I was thinking I would take her to the vet today but now this morning she is acting more fesity and tried to eat some food so I am going to watch her today and see if she tries to eat and go from there. I REALLY don't want or NEED a big vet bill right now so I am hoping she just had a tummy ache and gets over it on her own!!

Anyway I also needed to mail my exchange package but I was without my car most of the day yesterday and not sure about today so I am hoping that I can somehow do it today either before I take my car in if we do the tires today or if we don't do the tires either way. I need to get that done!

Anyway so busy day today. It is also picture day at school so had to get the girls all gussied up today

Sounds like fun. The couple of times we did the dining plan my kids complained that they felt like all they were doing was eating all the time. I always found the best thing to do was to tell the server right away you were on the DDP and ask if there were any restrictions or anything special. Each restaurant was a bit different and some did have restrictions (although it was generally only if there was something special on the menu...like all you can eat lobster or something!)

Our biggest problem was with the snacks. There was mass confusion regarding items that counted as snacks. Now they seem to be very well marked with the DDP logo. Also, you can use the DDP snack credit for a quart of milk. We took along little boxes of cereal, disposable bowls & spoons and every morning I went down and got a quart of milk with a snack credit...voila breakfast was taken care of. Plus after we ate all the little boxes of cereal, it gave us an extra empty suitcase to bring stuff home in. At the end of the stay we still ended up with extra snack credits, so we got munchies to take on the airplane ride home. I figured using the snack credit for milk probably saved us at least $7-$10 each per day by not having a breakfast to pay for. Not to mention that I alway want to be at the parks early, so it gave the kids more time to stay in bed and just eat in the room.

It is definitely good to get an overview map of the entire WDW complex. It makes it easier to decide where to take a bus. Sometimes it quicker to take a bus to a nearby park and then get a bus to the particular hotel you are eating at. But other times it's better to go to DTD or the MK Transportation Center and go from there. In any event, they recommended that we allow 1 hour for transportation from 1 resort to another with dinner reservations...and they weren't kidding!

Doesn't Coronado Springs have an internal bus system? I know when I stayed at CBR they did and it was awesome. It really didn't matter if you stayed in the back of the resort because a bus shelter was nearby that could take you up to the front. Basically it was just the buses that went to the parks, but they went in a big circle around the resort and would drop you off anywhere you wanted. So when you get there, maybe ask to be put in a room that is very close to an internal shuttle bus stop if they can't put you up close to the front.

Yeah as far as the snacks go we are prob going to use a lot of ours for F&W as I heard they will let you use them for the booths!! But whatever we DON'T use we will prob use for breakfast like you said. I am not a big breakfast eater and would probably do a muffin or piece of fruit and if you can use a snack credit for that then bingo! We will figure it out I am sure and I am sure we will do the mugs again esp if we go to the food court for breakfast everyday!!

And I know what you mean about the eating thing. We went at Thanksgiving last time and we felt like we HAD to make ADRS for every meal because of the holiday. And then you feel so tied down to those ADRS. I would MUCH rather just eat when and where I feel like it but unless you go at a REAL off time I think it is hard to do that. I am like you though and I don't like being tied to particular places and times. I want to eat when I get hungry NOT because I have a ressie! In fact we have blown off adrs before because we were just plain NOT hungry. Had too big of a lunch or had a snack or what have you and then a few times we tried changing our ADRS last minute but I can say that we already tried getting some this far out and they were completely booked so I fear if we don't have them NOW getting anything last minute isn't going to happen. So if we change our mind it will be cs or nada LOL.

And as far as the buses yeah that is one thing I am going to miss about not having a rental car. We have had one the last two times and it was SO nice to just come and go as we pleased. We did a LOT of resort hoping and then of course went off property and it was really nice to have that convenience and then last time my mom bought an AP so we could do tables in wonderland and so we got free parking so it was really nice. And we also stayed in the timeshare the last two times so we haven't had to deal with the hotels either. We DID stay at pop for the last 2 days of our trip but we had our own car. So it is going to be a WHOLE new world this time for us. I don't know anything about CSR and have never even seen it. We stayed at the contemporary in 02 and did use the buses and monorail etc but the only problem we ever had was going to DTD. That was back when there were no direct buses and that took FOREVER. Plus we never tried to go to any other resorts except the monorail ones on that trip. Then the last two we had our own car so it was no problem going to the other hotels but we never did go to CSR or CBR or the port orleans ones. We have been to YBC, Boardwalk, AKL, all the monorail ones and I think that is it besides pop of course. None of the moderates or the all stars. So new experiences to be had!!

Anyway just got back from the post office and my package is away thank goodness so that is one thing down and my dad is taking my car over this afternoon for me so my tires will be done!!!! Now I just have to hope that my cat continues to improve! She did eat a little so hopefully she is on the mend!

I've been a bit busy these past couple of days. I went to a surprise bridal shower for a friend of mine over the weekend. Her fiancee surprised her and took her to this fondue place. My other friends were there too. It was really sweet and he got her a bouquet of roses, a teddy bar and a bar of chocolate for fondue that was out on the table. He basically dropped her off and said to call her whenever she wanted to come home. The fondue was soooo delicious! I've never eaten it before and it was awesome. Her fiancee paid for everything which was so cool and nice of him. We had a good time chatting about high school and other stuff.

Went to my hip hop class and my teacher said I'm doing a lot better compared to my first session. She was cheering me on which was cool.

I went to a funk class with some friends and my bro last night. The teacher didn't show up again and it was that crazy sub lady again We saw her and said: "OH NO!!" Apparently they aren't sure when the normal teacher will return but this sub lady is crazy! Other ladies showed up to the class, saw her and just made faces like: "Really?? Are you kidding me??" We decided to skip it. My bro watched and said: "What her teaching is so crazy!! Ewww!" The sales guy said: "OH NO, it's her again?? You guys better run!"

We loved the dining plan at WDW!! We ate at the yummiest places. It really does take a long time to get from place to the next though. But we only did one park a day.. and then ate dinner in the evenings.. One thing we found was really helpful for us, namely because we were feeding six people on a dining plan for four.. I would go up and get the counter service stuff for two adults, then send dh up to get counter serviced for two adults. If we got all four meals at once, we had to get two adult meals, and two kids meals. But if we only got two at once then we got four adult meals. Plenty of food for everyone!

Alison.. I think we are all going thru Disney withdrawals! Too bad I only have $25 in my account right now or I would so be there! Still waiting for SS to do their thing.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! The wheels of the federal govt turn every so slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly.

I spent $11 for $60 in groceries. Our neighbor gave us a bunch of milk, already had two in the fridge so we froze it. Taking up to much room!
I had to unbox my freebie pizzas to make it fit in the freezer. Bought a cereal deal .... yes more cereal, but we got rid of some recently so now it's just 16 boxes .. it generated a free milk coupon. Like I really needed more milk? Guess I need to think of recipes to use up milk.. pudding? what else?

Resting today, maybe I can convince my kidlets to wash dishes since I no longer have a holey pipe under the sink.
We have E's neph appt in the morning. And ortho surgeon appt on Monday morning. We shall see how bad the hips are and decide when he needs surgery for replacements. I have a feeling it is BAD and putting it off until summer might not be an option. He is loving work right now plus the three flights of stairs to our apt might be an issue post surgery. I love him, but I'm not carrying his big ole butt upstairs.

Rochelle that is funny you got the psycho dance teacher again. Instead of the soup nazi you got the funk nazi LOL. I think I would just have left Hope your reg teacher is there next time. Hey but the good news is FRINGE starts tonight!! Woo Hoo!! Can't wait!! We will DEF have to chat about that tomorrow!! This has def been a good tv week! Eventhough it still has not sunk in that half my old shows aren't coming back. I keep half thinking that heros and flashfoward just haven't started yet. Not to mention lost although that was the only one that had a real "ending". Plus my other big fav was Ghost Whisperer and that didn't have an ending either. I hate when they just END shows without wrapping them up. They really cheat the fans when they do that!! But I AM excited to see Fringe and I watch CSI to and although it has kind of gone downhill I am anxious to see it tonight as it left off with a cliffhanger last season.

And Alison sure hop on in the case! Shane isn't coming so I think I have some room although you might have to fine a way home cuz I am SURE that space will be filled on the return! I plan to fill it with some sweatshirts and probably other fun souvies. I can never resist all the fun stuff I find!!

Well yesterday was productive. I FINALLY have nice shiny new tires. I just hope they are good. I really wanted to go to America's tires but dad found me a better deal at Sears although I have never heard of this brand of tires but he seems to think they are "ok". We went in there to drop the car off and they didn't have ANY sales people and there were a bunch of people waiting. It was pretty unprofessional and people started leaving. But I DID get it fixed and I feel so much better now. And my cat finally started eating a little and wanted outside so I think she is feeling better.

The girls got their pics all done so now I just desperately need to get my mop cut. I look like a yeti!! I am debating about going today. We'll see. Oh and my package is off so all caught up on my chores for now.

Anyway off to work tomorrow and then we have our one and only buy weekend for soccer this weekend so I am hoping we can do something like go for a hike or a drive or something. The weather is supposed to be good and we haven't done anything in awhile. I would like to maybe go to apple hill but we usually like to wait till later in Oct but we shall see.

We won't have any more weekends off for a LONG time so I would like to take advantage. I guess it will remain to be seen.
