Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

Bernice and Kelly- It seems that drama (small or large) can start so easily online. Any little thing can set a person off because you don't hear the tone of the other person and it can cause people to take things literally or take offense to things and become super defensive. :sad2:

Staley- glad you had a good weekend.

Christina- I didn't know it was that cold where you live. :faint: I agree, you need some sunshine.

Oh please give me some of your weather! It's been like 46 degrees here for the weekend. I haven't gotten any sunshine this summer and I'm mad! Well I shouldn't say I haven't gotten any but certainly not very much, unlike you. SHARE!

Doesn't your caretaker take care of leaks and such?

Brrrrrr, too cold much too early! It takes awhile but, we do get the cold fronts from Canada. More of an issue in winter and northern MN of course. That evil bitter arctic cold dipping down to freeze our booties off! :cold:
Hope you get a nice blast of warm soon and we will take your cold. :thumbsup2

More hot and breezy today, not liking our elec bill this summer. I have more joint pain issues when we let it get hot, hence the ultra high elec bill with the AC running non stop. I feel so much better today after resting up yesterday. Or maybe the humidity is less?

The leak was our own creation due to dh's dialysis tubing, not related to any plumbing issue.

The carpet in the hall is still damp, I heard the maintenance guy in the apt below doing some work (they are gradually upgrading as people move out.. $ca-ching$!) guessing there isn't a problem as he didn't come knocking at our door. :)

You know how women that are in close quarters, live or work together, tend to have their cycles all at the same time...well do you suppose that might be the problem on the DIS? Perhaps we should start keeping a calendar and staying away from other threads every 4th week!:rotfl2:

B. - glad it didn't leak all the way thru!:)

C. - BRRRRRR! It has been a strange summer for us here also. We had nothing but rain until the first of July, then it's been a few really hot days, followed by a few really cold days. It seems like our weather has jumped all over the place. Normally we have nice 75-80 degree weather with a few spikes up or down. Hope you get some sun soon? BTW, are you back in Canada yet? I thought you were, but your name thingamabobber still says Scotland.

M. - My DH has learned to not give me alcohol on date night. Two drinks and I'm praying to the porcelain god.:lmao: Men, takes them years to learn doesn't it?:rotfl:

K. - I feel for you. I do a lot of A/P and people are freakin' crazy anymore. I cut checks twice a month; yet I get people freaking out if they don't get paid like 2 days after they send a bill. I've gotten to where I tell vendors if they contact me prior to 14 days after they send the bill it will automatically delay their payment, because I will have to pull all of their invoices out of our filing system, then it won't be available to cut a check until the next run two weeks later. They seem to get the message!:lmao:

R. - What do you mean by that? RU trying to say I pick on you? Huh, Huh? Do you wanna step outside so we can take care of this little problem? Don't think I don't know that you are trying to start something with that little remark! You'd better watch it lady or I'll sic the ladies from the budget board on you.:rotfl2: JUST KIDDING!:flower3::lmao::hug:

Just so you all know, I support the following controversial subjects:

1. I have stood up and gave my seat up to women & children on a WDW bus. I do it just to annoy people on the DIS.:lmao:

2. I really don't care if my next door neighbors at my hotel cook cabbage & fish all day in a crock pot. They can even fry onions & liver if they want to. Why don't I care? Because I'm out eating dinner and having fun, not sitting around complaining about food smells at the hotel.

3. If non-handicap people want to rent a scooter and cut ahead in line, that's fine with me. I'll just get behind them and walk because they cut a path thru the crowd and I'll get thru faster also.;)

4. I have personally bought 1 refillable cup at Pop and used it for the entire family. I just take extra cups along, sit by the main pool near the dining hall and keep sending a different kid back with the same cup every couple of minutes.

5. I would personally leave Dizzy in line at DL by herself, just so the rest of us mature adults could go in for Early Entry mornings.:scared1:

6. If I thought I could still pass for 9 and get in cheaper, I would go buy Garanimals and give it a shot.

7. I buy kids meals for myself every time I go to WDW or DL.

8. I will risk every single fire code in Orlando and shove 8 people in a room meant for 4 people. Think about it, the more people you have in a single room, the better your chance that you will hear the fire alarms going off. 16 ears are always better than 8!

9. I always lose my sunglasses at the WDW waterparks. But then again, so does everybody else. So I have no shame in walking around the lazy river until I find somebody else's lost sunglasses on the bottom and then they become mine. I figure at least 90% of the people there exchange sunglasses by days end.

What did I forget?:rotfl2:

Uh-oh you just gave away your age.. I don't think they make Garanimals any more. How about Gymboree?

Think about it, the more people you have in a single room, the better your chance that you will hear the fire alarms going off. 16 ears are always better than 8!
unless those ears belong to teenagers that are
a. dead to the world for 12 hours of sleep
b. have their ears occupied by ear phones blasting what is on their current Ipod list
In that case, you are screwed! Enjoy the fire.. ohhh pretty!;)

Okay, I like this one and will keep it in mind!

And yes I am posting at 2 am my time, I have no life..
because I am of the undead.
Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha
Or maybe I just watch too much Buffy? :scratchin
Watching the last episodes of the last season right now. :hyper:

And it's not like I have anywhere to go tomorrow. Eloy doesn't work until Wednesday (he will be working 3 days a week) , the boys don't start school until after Labor Day and I have no plans until Wednesday (coupon doubles) and possibly Thursday (farmer's market before they close for the season).
I should tackle laundry, eh. Boo hiss that's boring!

You know she's going to stick you on the swinging gondolas of death as punishment! :rotfl2::lmao: J/k! :teeth: She may just "shun" you with many of her little blue poquitos! :sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2: :rotfl2::lmao:

Wow Bernice! I thought I was the only one who stayed up late out of you guys. I have been beaten! :rotfl2: I just finished 2 loads of laundry and put them all away.

Morning and happy Tuesday!!

OMG Alison I am so glad you are back! You kill me!!! I love it!! I bet you are one of those that purposely goes to some threads JUST to point out your views on these matters just to see how many people will go nuts LOL. I love it!!

You are a stronger woman than I! ;)

I like the idea of avoiding the pms patrol! I don't have to worry about that anymore so I guess we have to look out for the rest ;) That's funny too about what you said about the buses. Our VERY first trip back in 02 we got on one of the buses and the bus driver told this dude to get up so any older lady could sit down and he looked right at her and said NO! He was sitting in the "handicapped" section that is reserved in the front of the bust right behind the driver. I was flabbergasted and couldn't believe it. Several people on the bus made comments and were shaking their heads and I thought his wife was going to literally crawl under her seat with embarrassment. I have also had people almost knock me over to get on the buses both here at DL and at DW when I had two babies and a stroller and then I had to STAND. Shameful! But what are you gonna do!

And I LOVE your tactic about A/P. Back in the day when our company actually HAD a positive cash flow, when was that again???, I used to get checks during the week and the rule was I cut all commissions on Fridays. NOW we are so broke I am cutting them the second they come in and sometimes have to hold this or move that to make things work but I just get SO frustrated because my mom is WAY too nice to these people and our accountant flat out told her that she needs to make them pay a desk fee or a higher percentage when things are bad like now but she is afraid to do it and therefore we are a sinking ship. It is SO stressful. We got behind in our rent by like 5 months and luckily our landlord was having financial problems too and we were able to renegotiate but it is just SO ugly. She really should have closed up shop a few years ago but she just doesn't want to give up but it is just a giant stress factory trying to rob peter to pay paul :(

Anyway today I am off so I don't have to think about it till Friday LOL. Today is chore day. Yippee!! :) Then tonight the girls have skate night so hopefully it will be fun for them. Shane is going to soccer since he is the coach and doesn't want to not be there for the other girls. That is the only bad part about him being the coach is he doesn't feel he can miss. Otherwise that's bout it for me.

Hope everyone has a good day!!

Good Morning!

I did my last long run yesterday. 10 miles! :thumbsup2 Now I will take it easy the rest of the week and then my race is Sunday morning! I was averaging about an 11 1/2 minute mile and the requirment is a 16 minute mile or below so I think I'm good!

Sadly, people have the same mentality on the city bus. We got on a very busy route mid afternoon, it was packed! Already people standing when a blind man came on board. We couldn't offer a seat as we were sitting in the back (not together), hemmed in on all sides near the back exit.

We think he had some vision, but he was obviously in need of sitting close to the driver to listen to the stops and get off safely (he had a walking tip cane).
There were a few young men in front that didn't offer up a seat to him or the mom forced to stand and trying to keep track of her little ones. That made me so mad! The bus driver should have directed at the very least one person to move for the blind guy.

Good Morning!

:yay:

That is awesome!

Just as we went to bed last night (ok, morning) the threatening thunderstorm broke loose with a fury!

Eloy had turned off the ac and left open the windows as there was a decent breeze, a breeze that turned into sheets of rain being blasted into that side of the building. :headache:The side where the windows are in the kitchen and living room, :rolleyes1 you know the kitchen that already we had cleaned up the leaky mess. Yep, another batch of wet mess to clean.

The curtains were sopping wet on the bottoms, standing water on the floor, water on the kitchen table, water on the top of the bookshelf.

I think my kitchen is a new lake :boat: pirate:

All this cleaning at 3:30 am

Any of you guys heard about the man who was shot at a Morman church on Sunday in Visalia? Well my DD has taught 2 of his children. She is really shook up about the whole thing. THe whole school is, as 4 of his children attend there.

So tragic and sad.:sad2:

Sarah, that is awesome! Good for you! :cheer2:

Bernice, that was some rain storm! Youza! :upsidedow

Ali, You crack me up!:rotfl:

Hi Kelly, Have any bats lately?

Hey Pix!

Morning gals and happy hump day!!

Sara so excited for you!! I know you are going to do AWESOME and only wish I was going to be there to cheer you on!! Can't wait to see pics and hear how you did!!

B I know isn't it sad!! And that is what was so ridiculous was that at DW the bus driver DID tell the dude to move and he had the nerve to tell HER no!! I couldn't believe she didn't stop the bus and kick him off but it was late at night everyone was tired and I think she just was like oh well what can I do. I really thought some of the other men on the bus might have beat him up though and he KNEW he was in trouble cuz he wouldn't even LOOK at anyone else. What a jerk. I mean yeah EVERYONE is tired at the end of a long day but come on some people REALLY need to sit and he was a grown man. I would be mortified to let a poor old disabled person stand while I sat. What a jerk!

And Mel I saw your post on the diva thread. That is awful! I am so sorry for your town and for Becky. How awful for that family!! Was it family related or a hate crime? That is just awful!! And no more bats, only ones in "my" belfry LOL.

Yesterday was a pretty good day. I finally remembered that shelby had wanted this certain toy that we had seen at walgreens a few weeks back and I had been meaning to go out when they weren't with me and I FINALLY thought about it yesterday and so I went out but they didn't have the one she wanted so that was a bust but I think toys r us has them so I am going to try there. But I also am desperately looking for sweaters for Katy as she has grown out of ALL of hers from last year and none of the stores really have any out yet which is surprising. Usually it seems they put out swimsuits when it is still middle of winter and sweaters in the middle of summer LOL. But anyway I saw on Children's place online that they had some cute ones that were cheap to begin with and THEN on sale but only at their outlet. So I drove out there but they were WAY too smale so unfortunately THOSE didn't work but I found a couple cute dresses for Katy and then I went to the gap outlet which I NEVER shop at cuz I can't afford gap stuff but they had super cute stuff for next to nothing so I got the girls each a couple shirts. And then I needed a new backpack for my camera/stuff for our trip and beyond. I had used shane's that he always takes on our trips but it is a regular size backpack and WAY too big. So I found a small sling style at the Eddie Bauer outlet for only 19 bucks!! It would have only been 12 with a purchase but since I didn't need anything else no point in spending even MORE money LOL. But it is PERFECT just fits my camera and all my other stuff and MUCH smaller and more compact so I am really happy with it!!

Anyway then last night I took the girls to the skate night fundraiser for the school and they really had a good time. Katy met a new friend that is in her class and Shelby got to see all her chums and I got some fun adult time with all the mom's that I am friends with from volunteering at school so it was a nice time. Also shelby got invited to a party so she is all excited!!

So that was my day! Today is just more chores round here and then tonight is back to school. I am anxious to meet the girls teachers as always!! Tomorrow is our soccer pics and not sure yet about Friday. Prob not much since we have so much going on during the weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day and talk later.

Dang, wish I had known you were on here, cuz I was up late. We got our new trailer last night and I was so excited that I was up half the night packing it. Then I couldn't sleep, so didn't go to bed until almost 1am.

It's such a cozy feeling trailer, much more cozy feeling then the last one. Amazing how a different floor plan makes such a difference. The only thing I don't like is my kitchen has less storage space. We have more storage space in the bedroom, about the same in the bathroom. But less in the kitchen.

I'm really trying to downsize my kitchen stuff. We don't cook much in the trailer, mostly outside on DH's 50 million BTU griddle. But still need some pots & pans. I did get rid of all my plastic dishes though. In 6 years, we've used them once, we just always use disposable when camping. I'm also going to get rid of all but 1 mixing bowl. I can use gallon storage bags for leftovers instead. Sometimes I think our old trailer was our catch all for stuff that I moved out of the house, but wasn't ready to throw out yet. Not anymore!

Good Morning!

 You'll do just great and I'll be in my hammock under the pine trees at the beach reading a book and relaxing...cheering you on!:)

I did not hear about it, that is so sad and tragic. Did he survive or has he passed on? I will say a prayer for his family.

You should sign up for Groupon. A few weeks ago they had certificates for the Gap...I think it was get a $50 gift certificate for $25. Every day they do something half price in your area.
