Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:Yeah for being poor!:rotfl2: I love it. Yay me!! Im broke!! BUT!! We got news that Dhs work might start doing bonuses again!! Be nice if he would get a raise.. But we will take anything we can get. And he got offered a job after work and on the weekends working with a guy from his shop doing sandbags. Why dont I just find a job you ask?? Believe me. I have been looking. I guess being out of work for 6 years makes you a tad undesirable in the job market.

Staley- that is crazy about that situation with that little boy. I hope he does not hurt your kids or anyone else's for that matter. That is ridiculous that the father actually had the nerve to blame your son. :sad2:  I would be upset too!

Kelly- I love DL at Christmas time. It is the best and I love the atmosphere, decorations, hot chocolate and admiring the pretty decorations on Main St, while listening to Christmas songs being played :) I also love seeing Evil Teddy in HM! He is cute and my favorite NBC character :teeth: I also love the snowman shaped cookie they sell in Blue Ribbon bakery. Very tasty!

woohooo, happy news.. the big bad scary thought of not having money for bills is averted... for at least a little while. :rolleyes1 Eloy looked at his upcoming pay stub, we thought he was done with his deferred pay from last year's salary.. but I guess not. YEAH! I thought so, but Eloy was not convinced. So I got to do the "told you so" snotty sing song routine :rotfl2:

Oh yes, and my body has noticed it's hot today. Darn you cool weather for disappearing! Motrin (okay, generic Walmart brand) here I come. grrrrrr!
Happier news, I can finally get a diagnosis next month because we will be poor enough to get insurance thru the state.. yeah for being poor :thumbsup2.. that's sarcasm if you didn't realize.

Thanks guys... We are all good now. My mom REALLY came through for us when I really needed her. PLUS she had ALL the kids school clothes waiting for us at her house. There was tons of clothes. WHich was AWESOME. I just stupidly got us in a huge hole that when it came crunch time, I couldnt fix. and it HAD to be fixed in about a one day time frame. BUT... Thankfully my mom was there to help. It was our car payment.. I got behind. WAY behind. My mom wanted to just pay off the car altogether.. But I said NO FREAKING WAY. I love my mom, but she tends to hold that kinda thing over your head, you know? I dont want to feel like I am in debt to her for 20 grand. My husband on the other hand was like.. Screw it! Let her pay for it. We know she has the money. Ummmmm... NO!

We ARE lucky with Julie. She is awesome. She is still a teenager, and totally acts like a teen most o the time. But when we are in a crunch, she is amazing. hehehehe... I have a funny story.. Kinda. There is this little boy that lives in the complex, and he is a little slow.. I used to have Alex kinda watch out for him, make sure the other kids dont pick on him to much.. Whatever.. Then we started noticing that..1. his parents dont seem to give a crap about him. That made me sad for him.. 2.. The kids picks on younger kids that cant stick up or themselves. Like Kaylee. We have had 3 or 4 times where she has come up BAWLING and BLEEDING because he has pushed her down. I dont blame the kid. I really dont. His parents are AWFUL. Yesterday he knocks Kaylee down, she comes in with her leg all bloody and I LOST MY MIND. I called Alex in and told him I was done. I this kid messes with you or your sister... Kick his BUTT. Not the right way to take care of it, I know.. But his parents arent doing CRAP about this stuff.

Anyways.. I go to Julie and tell her what happened, and she was in her jammies.. She grabs her clothes and as she is running through the house stripping, and throwing on her other clothes she is yelling how she is going to kill this kid because NO ONE messes with her babies!!:lmao::lmao: Anyways.. We go to leave to take her out later on, and all the little kids are yelling at this one kid, and throwing rocks at him. I was like.. WTH?? NO. Of course.. there is one kids little brother sitting on the ground crying, and BLEEDING.. The kid is like 3, and Darby went after him. So dh ran up and got Darby's dad and said there is something going on with your kid, you need to be outside handling it. He come running down, talks to Darby for a minute and comes stomping over to us.. He said Alex has been beating him up.:mad: I DONT THINK SO. I laid into that guy and told him everything that has been going on. I showed him Kaylees legs.. EVERYTHING. I told him about his little angel..:rolleyes1 shoving another boys head into the wall over.. and over.. and over again. He said.. Oh. Sorry. Ill handle it. Mmm. Yeah. Right. I was hot. It is NOT the first time we have gone to them with this stuff. I rather think CPS will handle it if we have any more issues. I know our apartment manager is thinking about calling on these people, and when I complained.. She told me I should call as well. This is a special needs kid, out ALL hours of the day and night, no parents in sight, I have seen him playing on the main street.. WHich I told his mom she was out there and she didnt care! GRRRRRR. I wish they would just move! I dont want to see when he gets hit by a car!

Wow.. Im sorry! That was really long winded! But this whole situation makes me CRAZY!!:headache:
:scared1: Just wow! How horrible on all accounts with that child. It's so sad when parents don't parent and everyone else pays for it. I hope that kid gets some help and the manager should call CPS on them, if for no other reason than to get that kid hopefully somewhere where he'll be watched over.
Megan that is so awesome that your mom was able to help you guys out. It seems my mom will be helping us till the end of time. We are living in the house I grew up in and we pay a lowered rent then what she could get if she were to rent it to the general public but with dh taking a 10/hr pay cut it was the only way we could make due. And she still pays some of the utilities on the place to like water and garbage and such which really helps us out. It is a BIG house and those things get expensive. Esp here where the meter the water and such (we live on an acre). But for us it is a give and take. They don't really want to sell the place so by us living in it and "taking care of it" and paying them some rent to offset the payment it helps them and in turn we get a place to rent that is cheaper then if we had to go find a place. So we are helping eachother out. But SOME day I would love to be able to own my own place again!! I owned two houses during my first marriage and as tough as it was to get by it was such a good feeling to be able to do it on my own. But in this day and age it seems sometimes we ALL need a little help!!

And that whole situation with the little kid (I wasn't sure if it was a boy or girl, you probably said but I was confused LOL) That is just nuts! I hope they move or your manager turns them in or something. It is not good for the child or anyone ELSE'S kids yours included. SHEESH!

And don't worry about talking about it. It helps to vent about stuff like that! I totally get it. We all need to do that sometimes! :)

Hey on a happy note I booked our room for Dec! So now I have TWO trips to look forward to! I am so excited. I don't think we have been to DL at Christmas since like 06! So I am really excited. I can't remember if I said anything on here but my dh isn't going with us to DW in Nov and he was pretty bummed because he hasn't been on ANY vacation since our short little 4 day vacation last Oct to DL. So he really wanted to go SOMEWHERE and suggested we do another short weekend trip in Dec. So we are driving down the day the girls get out of school and only staying 3 days but I'll take it! So excited!

Anyway I am off to pick up the girls from school here in a minute (short day today) and then they have soccer practice tonight. Have a good rest of your day everyone!! :)

:cool1: Yay for two trips! I'm so jealous!

I worked out in the park today with my trainer, she took me to this huge stair case to make me run stairs. She had two weights with her and put them in a corner on the staircase. We ran down and back up and the weights were gone. Someone stole them! How rude! I hope whoever stole them had to walk a long ways home up hill. I felt so bad for my trainer, they weren't expensive weights but just the fact that someone took something that wasn't theirs sucks.

I'm going to the doctor soon. I have a freckle (it's more like a mole but I hate the word mole) being removed. I'm a little bit scared it's going to hurt. I'm trying to tell myself if I can run up that giant staircase I can get a little needle in my back. Wish me pain free!

Drive by hi & bye!

So I go home last night...greek chicken has been marinating all day and is ready for DH to bbq. Only he decided to go for a Harley ride! WTH? Our bbq starter button is broke and I don't know how to get the thing started. On top of it DD turned the AC off...it was too cold for her. WTH? It was 90 degrees and the house was roasting and I'm having hot flashes...are you people nuts!

DD then hands me the laptop and tells me something's wrong and she HAS to get online to the college for an assignment that's due Thursday morning. DS apparently got a virus yesterday from God only know's where! Anti-virus didn't get rid of it so I had to completely restore the computer to factory settings, then bring it to work today so I could use the faster internet to download all the necessary software.

I start yelling and completely lose it...I was yelling at DH on his cell phone, DD ran for her room, DS ran out across the yard leaving me to deal with every single mess that they had created.

So I cranked up the AC, stood over the top of a vent with an icepack, figured out how to start the bbq, fixed the computer, got DD on the old computer (slower then Xmas, but hey it's better than nothing). Oh this was after I yelled at the stupid lady at AT&T...told me to go to McDonalds and get on their wi-fi internet to download the proper software for our internet card...are you freakin' kiddin' me? AT&T tells me to go to Mickey D's to there software incompatibility problem? Are they kidding? Our McD is lucky they have fries, let alone free Wi-Fi.

But I'm much better today. All the problems seem to be fixed (not that anybody else in my family actually fixed anything!). I'm sensing a nervous breakdown soon.:scared1:popcorn::

Megan....teenagers, love them or kill them? That is the real question, as there seems to be no in between with them.:lmao: One minute they act like they are 30 and the next minute they act like they are 3.:sad2:

Boo on the weights!! Who does that?? Good luck on the freckle removal. I have only ever had babies removed.. and my gall bladder. None of which hurt all that much!:lmao:

Right! SOmetimes I honestly want to strangle her. But the resat of the time she is awesome. :confused3We went to Mt. Rainier and I almost KILLED her. It was attitude CITY. Her and her mom got in a HUGE fight right there on the trail.. All in German, which means business if you know what I mean. She got the smack down, and suddenly she was decent again. :lmao: it was awesome! I only hope I can put the smack down when I need to. I havent yet.. Small attitude tweaks is all I have needed to give here and there, but nothing major in the past week.. I know one will come.

Tonight we are grocery shopping in the middle of the night. Where she is from the stores all close at 6, and arent open on SUndays.. So she thinks it is cooler than cool that our stores are open 24/7.. She has been wanting to make a middle of the night store run since she got here. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sounds like fun times to experience the worst of America, shopping at Walmart with all the whackos at 2 am :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I wish our close by Walmart was open longer, they close early. But the grocery store is 24 hours.
I thought our other grocery chain was 24 hrs but I guess not, every time I shop at one location on Wednesday mornings they are doing restocking. Nice planning, restock on the busiest day (coupon doubles Wednesdays and Saturdays only):sad2: I hate shopping that location as they have narrow aisles already, add flats of product in middle of the lane and three stockers busily refilling.. no one can get thru the frozen and dairy. Keep in mind, they don't restock the popular coupon items. Not only are you competing for space, but you have to go early and be fast to get the freebies. :headache:

How rude to steal with you nearby! I think things are getting worse for some people, makes them desperate.

Our caretaker watched a guy get held up in the nice condos parking lot across the street.

We think there are drug dealers in the vacant gas station, same cars everyday sitting there for no reason... yep drug dealing, or prostitutes.

And we are a NICE area.

Pix.. Evil Teddy rules! I think it's sweet that you like NBC HM now. :cutie:
Alison.. when it rains it pours? :guilty: But why can't that happen in good things instead of "OMG I want to scream and tear everyone's hair out!" all frustratingly bad at once?

And yes totally on teenagers.

Justin forgot his medical update form when he left for school.. so he didn't get his ID or his schedule for this year.

How much ya wanna bet he will come home and whine to me about it?
Well gee, you can read right? I gave you the letter and said "read this" and tacked it to the fridge weeks ago. Reminded him about it earlier this week.

Noah figured it out, in fact he asked to make sure that was all he needed before he left today (and he brought Justin's form but they wouldn't let him turn it in and he couldn't find him on the field for band practice).

Wow I go away for dinner and to watch some tv and LOTS of updates. Bear with me I will prob forget someone and for that I am sorry. And I will tell you, and this is the god's honest truth no joke, one of the meds I take for my migraines, an anti-seizure med, one of the side effects is short term memory loss. So I have REAL problems remembering stuff. I can remember ALL the stuff from the old days just can't remember stuff I just said or did and I would probably do TERRIBLE on a test now a days LOL.

But anyway I will try:

B I am glad that your dh was able to get the extra pay on his check and I am sorry that you are among the rest of us in the poor department. It sucks doesn't it!! Hope things start to look up but at least you will get the medical which is a good thing and you can get some things accomplished there so that is good!

Christina that is crazy about the weights. Did you see that thing on yahoo about the family that had their bags gone through while they were taking a pic and they got it on camera? CRAZY! I agree I hope that jerk had to walk up hill and then dropped them on his/her toe!! ;) And good luck with the removal. I had a large mole removed off my ear and I can say it was a piece of cake! Just like a bee sting. No biggie :)

Alison as always you crack me up. Just the way you describe your dilemas. NOT that what happened to you is funny but you always seem to make things humorus. I hope things are looking up and hopefully you got it all out of your system!! ;) I know sometimes I need to blow off steam too cuz sometimes it seems like everything is crashing down around me and I just want to tear out my hair!

Megan that is so funny about the store. Isn't it weird what is interesting to people from other countries. I don't know what Europe is like now but when I was there in the 80's they didn't even HAVE supermarkets so I am sure that no matter what everything is so much bigger and different to her! And that is awesome about Disneyland. She is going to LOVE it!!

I had a pretty uneventful night. Shane and the girls went to soccer practice and I stayed home and cleaned up the dinner stuff as always. I don't usually go cuz the heat gives me migraines. But anyway then I watched a bit of my lost dvd and now I am off to bed here in a minute.

Tomorrow it is back to work and then Saturday as I said is our seeding tournament.

I just remembered I never answered your question B. It is a tournament that they have all the different teams in the league play against eachother to see what teams are at the same levels of skill so they can make up the roster for the games. That way they don't have REALLY good teams playing against really bad ones. It matches them up skill wise. They will then make up the roster for the first half of the season and then after they play the games they will "re-seed" them for the second half of the season depending on how they did. If they got creamed they will move them down a division or move them up if they kicked butt. That way it keeps the competition on an even keel.

Make sense?

Anyway we won't have any games over the labor day weekend and so we are going to a bbq and hopefully I will be shopping for new tires for my car. I was hoping I could get away with under 200 bucks but apparently they have gone up. Now even for my crappy little camry the cheapest tires are close to 100 bucks each! EEK!!!!! So I am looking at more like 400! OUCH! But it must be done. The rubber is done to the wires almost and my dad said I HAVE to get new tires before the rain! Sooo that is my chore for next weekend and then the following weekend is the first game and Katy's party.

So lot's of fun stuff coming up!!

Anyway I am off to la la land.

Have a good night all and see you manana!

Morning gals!! Happy Friday! Wow end of the first week of school already. That went quick. Hopefully that will hold true for the whole year since I feel like the summer just went WAY too fast LOL.

My dh gets up at about 4 every morning and I don't sleep very well so I have been waking up myself, of course he is a typical man and wakes half the house up LOL. He is NOT subtle and throws on all these lights and makes a racket that could wake the dead LOL. But anyway I was laying there in bed and just thinking and it is weird the thoughts that cross your mind at 4 a.m.! I suddenly for some odd reason started thinking that it is almost september and how I really like fall now because of the excitement of school starting and soccer and I love the weather changing and all the fun stuff that happens when school is back in. I never really was that fond of fall before and spring was always my favorite season and still kind of is weather wise but I am REALLY liking fall now because there is so much fun stuff with back to school and then halloween and the rest of the holidays. But then I started thinking that September is tainted a bit because as much as I love it I will forever remember lying in bed 9 years ago just as I was this morning and getting woken up by Shane with a phone call and told to turn on the tv. That day was 9/11/01. We had just moved in to our house that June and Shelby was only 5 months old and in her bassinet beside the bed. Katy was fast asleep in her room and life was SO innocent before that day. EVERY september probably from now on I hold a bit of gloom remembering that day and esp since I was at the actual WTC site last year. It is REALLY awe inspiring to see esp since they haven't rebuilt it yet. There have been a LOT of things that have happened in my lifetime, Reagan getting shot, Lennon, the space shuttle (both of them now Challenger and Columbia) but this particular event is so poginant in my memory. And then to make things even MORE crazy on the 14th of sept it would have been my 20th wedding anniversary to my first dh. We have been divorced now longer than we were even married (we were married 8 years and got divorced in 98) BUT it is still one of those things that since we celebrated our anniversary for 8 years on that day I can't help but remember every year when it comes what that day was and esp this particular year. It is crazy to me. So it is def a bittersweet time! Don't get me wrong I don't regret ever divorcing him but it is just kind of weird and melancholy if that makes sense. Makes me feel like a whole big chunk of my life is gone and I can't believe it has been that long. Oh and to top it off my 25th class reunion is this month too. I guess I am just feeling old LOL. Anyway just some weird thoughts I had for so early in the morning.

Today I am off to work and hopefully it will not be too stressful of a day and then not sure what is on for tonight. Shane said he has to host the tournament tomorrow so he has to go over to the field tonight and help set up so not sure if we will be doing anything else and then he will be up bright and early tomorrow to head over although our first game isn't till almost 11. Then our 2nd game is at 1 and then we are done for the day. Nothing on for Sunday that I know of and then next week we have the girls open house at school on Wed and their soccer pics on Thurs and of course Labor Day is next weekend and the bbq as I said and lovely tire shopping. So Fun stuff!

Hope everyone has a good day today and talk to you all later!!

Christina- I hope your procedure goes well. Don't be scared! That is crazy about your trainers weights getting stolen. I guess that person really is a DUMBBELL! :rotfl: Sorry, I couldn't resist ;) That is lame that they would steal something like that. I also hope that that person had to climb up a large hill with those. That would serve them right.

Kelly- that's cool that you have your ressies down and get to plan out where to eat at for your trip :) I hope to go to back to WDW. I've been there twice but it's been a couple of years. I am thinking of a Disney Cruise. I heard they now have boarding here in Long Beach and it would beat flying out of state. One of my older cousins always goes on one for her wedding anniversary. Her DD 9 loves it and never wants to leave the ship when it's time to leave. :cutie: I heard they have a cruise that is for pin traders. That would be fun! :)

Alison- I'm sorry you had to deal with all that stress and I hope you are feeling better.

Bernice- Evil Teddy does rock :) I didn't notice him until you pointed him out to me that one time we rode HM. You said: "Look, look at the Evil Teddy!" and I said: "OMG, he's so cute!!" :teeth: Ever since then, when I ride that, I see Evil Teddy and will say: "Teddy!!" :rotfl: I want to buy that doll of him at DL. I think it's $12 but with the AP discount, maybe it will be okay. I saw a weird looking pin a CM had. I found a pic:

121zm03.jpg

It made me laugh but I didn't trade for it because I saw the Tokyo DL pin. I thought his facial expression was funny though.

Sarah- I think I remember seeing the monkey bride. Did it have cymbals? I can't remember.

Thanks for explaining the seeding.. after I read it I realized I had heard the term before but, had no clue what it actually meant.
-------------------------------
woah, weird expression on that pin. He looks upset to be with cutesy Easter stuff.. I would be too!
--------------------------------
Isn't it odd how we remember certain times of year, associating one stand out event with that month that overshadows everything else?
Major events in history will stand out in the minds of those who were alive at the time to witness it.

But sometimes other life events crop up that bear significance.. for us it's December: remembering the transplant surgery, it's the same month that Eloy and I met, it's the same month when we had a miscarriage.

Now we think of July: "the time we moved to CA and back", all the birthday celebrations with Eloy's family and the "anniversary of starting home hemo".

A little bit of joy mixed with the sorrow.

----------------------------

And boo for heat! I was lulled into thinking. Wow, what a nice breezy day! That gradually became a HOT breezy day.
I was hoping for cool weather tomorrow, we are going to the state fair :yay:
Justin is marching in the parade, it's a big competition with all the schools in the state. Each day of the fair several different schools are featured in the parade, they get points based on performance and the winning band in each classification (based on school size) gets extra funding.

They have already been advised that the state fair staff decide if it's too hot to wear uniform. It's been so hot this summer, they have done only one parade in uniform this season. :sad2: It's just not the same to be in white T's and khaki's for a parade, they look awesome in the uniforms.

We shall pace ourselves tomorrow: scoring our free swag, nibbling on something-on-a stick, oggle the butter princess in the glassed spinning refrigerator, take the scary sky ride across the fair and pretend to kick people in the head, look at the art competition, the jelly/ baked goods/ quilts competition, the live bee/honey demo, the fish swimming at the MN DNR pool, watch some poor animal give birth in front of hundreds of people barn, cooking demos, crap for sale, drool over the eco-friendly house

.. if we have time .. and the stamina..

look at the pet competition and the live vet surgery (snip snip time for Lassie!), watch lumberjacks create art out of a log, watch some bands, be wowed by the teens in the skate park, laugh at the parents wasting money on the carni rides, and dare each other to do the BIG slide (how many steps UP is that? ). :thumbsup2

Oh and drink as much milk (or choc milk) for the price of one cup until we slosh in the insides and turn green around the edges. Unlimited refills! ;)

Just your typical day at the fair.

Ride bus back downtown, take a different one and walk a mile all the way home since our regular route stops at 5pm.. fall into a heap exhausted and burnt :faint:

:santa:

Nothing say's only 4 months till Christmas like Jaundice Santa.

How funny you should mention the fair. Tonight on the news they were showing the Oregon State Fair and I thought of you and wondered if your fair was coming up soon. They were showing a stand that makes fried...well fried everything! Their newest creation was a burger & cheese in the middle of a crispy cream donut and deep fried. They even have fried pop, they mix the pop in a batter, fry it and then pour pop over it, along with a healthy mixture of powdered sugar & whipped cream. UGGHH!!

They asked the guy at the booth if there was anything he wouldn't fry and he said yes...some fairs have had people deep frying butter sticks....dip a stick of butter in thick batter and fry it.

Sew...(just kidding, you all know how I feel about sewing). So...something really strange happened tonight. It's so totally freaky, almost like the planets have aligned and all of the cosmic energy has entered into my home. I don't quite know how to explain it, because it was totally unplanned and unexpected.

I'm home alone!:banana::banana::banana:

DH got invited to a poker game by some of his co-workers.

DS was invited to a friends house to spend the night.

DD is going out to a late movie with her boyfriend.

And here I sit in my jammies, eating toast for dinner, watching Good Eats.

IS THAT FREAKY OR WHAT???!!!! I feel like I'm living somebody else's life!:rotfl:

Oh no, please tell me it's not time for another new episode of SELF INTERVIEW??!!!!
