Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

Good morning and happy Tuesday!

First of all Bernice I SO don't envy you with all that paperwork. I know in just the last year with all my health problems (which of course aren't NEARLY as much as your poor dh) I have been so frustrated dealing with the docs and ins companies. I can't even IMAGINE dealing with all the BS you are going through. Good luck with all of that and I hope you can get it all straightened out. I know I have been dealing with an erroneous bill from a doctor I stopped going to over a YEAR ago and have the ins company involved and THAT has given my major headaches. Then my uro's office misbilled me and so far I think I finally got THAT fixed but it just seems to be one nightmare after the other. It doesn't help that dh's union switched ins's on us 3 times in the past 2 years because of the economy and NOW that he is switching jobs he wants to switch AGAIN and I begged him to please NOT do that. I said he has NO idea what a nightmare it is each time for me and to please not. Even though I really HATE western health I just can't deal mentally with switching everything back!!!

So we shall see. Plus just this past week having to deal with the VA and child support people just to get his direct deposits fixed and then come to find out that now that his ex is not having to pay ongoing support and is in arrears she only has to pay the money back at the rate of 26 bucks a month!!! UGH! So that means BACK to court. I mean it seems like one nightmare after the other!

I sure hope you can get all your problems fixed and to the best resolution!!!

Yesterday I ended up NOT going in to work because I was trying to recover from getting SO overheated over the weekend and having a terrible migraine. I stayed home from work and did a few loads of laundry but the girls were exhausted too and I let them sleep in and Katy slept till 10! Normally we are all up around 6 every day but I let them recuperate. I was up again at 4:30 because I couldn't sleep but then took a nap around noon for a few hours. We never even left the house yesterday as I didn't want to go out in the heat again.

I am feeling better today and we are going to go ahead and go to the fair. I just hope I don't get overheated again! I REALLY don't need that!

I have my follow up with my uro at 10 and then we are going to grab some lunch and then head to the fair.

Today is also my dad's 68th birthday so not sure if he is going with us but either way we are going to dinner AFTER to celebrate.

Then tomorrow I am going in to work to do the stuff I didn't do yesterday and Thur is our swim party.

So busy week again but as I said NOTHING on for this weekend and I am SO looking forward to that for a change.

Hope everyone has a good day today and take care!!

Dizzy!! We miss you and especially your little blue poquitos! :sad2:

I hope that you get the job  That's cool that Alec is excited about football. :) I heard that Chuck E. Cheese rennovated and changed things around and updated their games. My little sister and her friend went to one out of boredom about a month ago. I teased them and asked: "Why??" :rotfl: They said that they have Guitar Hero and updated their games.

I remember when I was little it creeped me out when the animatronic animals would blink and turn their heads and look around the room after each show. :scared: Then they would startle everyone and come out of "sleep" and just start dancing and singing. :rotfl:

Thanks Pix :goodvibes - I shouldn't hear anything for a few weeks I am guessing - they still have all my paperwork on file so if they have an opening they should just give me a call. The person in charge really wants to get me in - but she doesn't have ultimate control in hiring - so hopefully there is not another transfer!!!

At least we survived the Chuck E Cheese experience - and thankfully all the tables by the creepy animatronic mice were taken - so sadly, :lmao:, we had to take our tables on the very far end of the place - far, far away from the party stuff :cool1:

Hey kel! I got an extra 55th anniversary/birthday park map if you’d like one! It has the dumbo retro art on the front! It’s kinda cute to just keep! I got over 10 requests this weekend, and now I have some extra! So let me know if you want one, cause umm they tend to go fast(park maps in general) :rotfl:  :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

So - they assure me that the fire in practically our backyard is controlled, and I shouldn't worry??? :headache: Good news is that it is not too windy - and hopefully they know what they are doing :sad2::sad2::sad2: (there you go Pix)

We also learned the answer to one of our questions last week....the kitty cat that we let move in last October when it started snowing is indeed a female, and indeed is not fixed. So we have three kittens - two that look like chipmunks :confused3

Oohh do you need help naming the kittens?

I got some ideas

Dizzy- I hope the fire is contained and that it doesn't go near your area. I know that's scary and there was recently a fire not too far from here. Still, it was scary to see all the smoke from outside my work. :scared: I do hope that you get that job.

Are you sure your cats are not realy Alvin, Simon and Theodore? J/k! :teeth: :rotfl: Hmm...then again if 2 look like chipmunks maybe they are the feline version of Chip N' Dale ;)

:rotfl: at your comment about sitting away from the animatronics in Chuck E. Cheese.

Morning all and happy Wednesday.

Well yesterday was exciting. I went over to my doc apt and what a waste!! My apt was for 10 and I got there 20 mins early ONLY to sit and wait till 10:40 before they even took me back and THEN he acted like he was unfamiliar with my case. He basically didn't even say much and it was a waste of my time and 20 bucks. Anyway then we grabbed some lunch and headed to the fair. We were going to buy tickets ahead of time but never got around to it and the line was nuts. It took us almost 45 minutes to get through the gates and it wasn't too hot but with the sun blaring down it didn't help. So by the time we got in I was pretty hot. If I can stay OUT of the direct sun I am ok but when I am forced to stand in the blaring sun it is not good!

Anyway we were going to do this apple bobbing contest but it was too late so we rode the monorail instead which is always fun. Then we looked around at the various exhibits and then they wanted to do the contest at 3:30 which was corn husking but it was TOTALLY unfair because they let grownups do it with 4 year olds. We have done these contests every year and they have ALWAYS separated the people by age. It was SO unfair and had I known they were going to be so stupid about it we wouldn't have even done it. Of course the adults won and the girls were really dissapointed. You can win these really nice ribbons but they didn't even have a chance. I was pretty irritated with the whole process but whatever.

Anyway we did see a baby cow that had JUST been born and some piglets that had been born that morning that were really cute and we saw most of what we wanted to see but between the fair opening so late and it taking forever to get in and then waiting so long for that contest it really messed up our day and we ended up leaving around 5:30 because we were meeting shane for dinner.

We went to cheescake factory for my dad's b-day.

All in all it was a pretty good day.

One thing I DID find out yesterday though that was upsetting is I used to have 3 cats when I was married to the ex and then when I moved back to CA I lived in their current house in this garage apt they have. They were actually living here in our house and that house was vacant. So the cats lived there with me and my dogs lived over here at this place because there was no good place for them over there.

My parents also had their OWN dogs and my cat that I had since I was a teenager over here.

Well when I married Shane I of course moved but the first 2 houses I lived in were rentals and I couldn't have pets so my parents kept all the various animals and 1 of my dogs ran off in the first few months and my other dog we kept for awhile when we moved here but we had to give her away because she got vicious. So when we moved in here we had my parents big dog and my old cat and they had MY cats over at their place.

Well over time their dog Bear passed away and so did my cat Terra and we have since gotten our own dog and cat but my parents have had MY cats this entire time. One of them passed about 5 years ago but the other two have just been plugging along and are both around 17/18.

Well just this past year one started going down hill and getting REALLY skinny but he was still very alert and up till a month ago the girls were playing with him and he was skinny but still seemed OK.

Well my mom informs me yesterday that they put him to sleep. I was sad but I knew it was coming. I just couldn't believe she hadn't told me. She claims it was before we went to Disneyland but I KNOW we saw him after that so I am not sure when it actually was but I can't believe she didn't tell me! Anyway then last night we went back to their house for birthday cake and now my OTHER cat is getting really thin so I think her days are numbered as well. I knew they were really old and they weren't going to be around much longer but both are still really active and seemed really healthy but I guess when they finally start going down hill it goes quick :(

It's hard when you have a pet for almost 20 years. That is a lot of your life and I kept thinking last night all the time I had them and everything I have been through since I had those cats and how it is truly like an end of an era and my old life and with them and my uncle passing last month it really makes you think about mortality and it is pretty sad! I knew that they weren't going to last but still it is sad when they finally do go!

Anyway today I have to go in to work and then Shane has invited some friend of his over tonight and I am REALLY not in the mood. The house is a mess and I really don't feel like having someone over when I haven't had proper time to clean up and plus we haven't really been home in days. Gone all weekend at the meet and then out last night late!

Anyway then tomorrow I have to be out AGAIN at the swim thing and then work again on Friday. Will just be glad when this week is over! Shane has to work all weekend too so I told the girls maybe we will go see a movie or something.

Anyway hope everyone is good and talk soon.

Good Morning!

Well my car was getting hot again yesterday so I had to shell out money that I didn't want to spend but at least DBF and his friend know about cars so they are going to change the water pump and gasket and the timing belt and rotors and brakes today. Just those parts were $220 so I can only imagine how much a shop would have charged for labor. So I guess it could have been worse.

Hope you all have a great day!

well i have nothing to report today, but i found out i have a disease:scared1:....it's not a major one, it's curable. :) thank goodness..right??!!

so apparantly this disease i have is called "camera envy", and it's only curable by getting a new digital camera, preferbly a Nikon coolpix, but umm when i looked at the nikon i found out that ALL the newer digital's do not do black and white, only the bigger ones like the dslrs, and its to much of a pain the behind to convert online my photos to black and white i would rather just do it once and get it right--plus i se much more detail through my camera lense when it's in black and white(i guess maybe i see my own "world" in black n white.hmm), so for now i have to FIGHT  "camra envy"--PLUS i almost had heart papulations from the sticker shock i was experiencing at best buy!, anyhow so please pray that i get a new camera soon to cure this strange disease! thank you! :worship: :upsidedow

Sorry to hear that you are having car problems. I'm glad that your DBF and his friend are working on your car. I hope that your car is up and running smoothly again. I agree with you on the cost for parts and labor. It most likely would have cost a lot more if you went to a dealer or to a mechanic. :-/

I didn't like "fire season" when we lived in Moreno Valley, the reports of x % contained and expected full containment months and months later  worrisome stuff. Hopefully the wind will cooperate and the fire will be fully contained.

Chipmunk kittens? hmm, what weird cross breeding experiments are they doing up in your mountains?? :rotfl2: Do you feed them cat food or nuts??

Yeah for someone who knows how to fix cars! $220 is fairly reasonable considering how much they plan to change out. Hope the fix works well!

We went to the library to return a movie and book. E had only been in the lobby with me a few times so we looked around each level and I showed him the teen lounge. The building is new, it was in process of being developed when we moved away and had just been completed when we came back. It's on the same site as the former library building where we had hung out a lot in our early years. We took the boys there when they were tiny tots until we moved away from downtown. The new building is four levels, all glass and metal with an open structure style. it has a "green" roof planted with various grasses and other plants to keep it cooler in summer and keep heat in winter.
Automated self checkouts and returns, loads of computers for public use on every floor. And a yummy Dunn Brothers coffee shop in the lobby... mmmmm.
The one thing that got cut from the budget that is sorely missed is the planetarium, there is talk that funds are being put together to rebuild but so far.. nope. Bummer, we enjoyed going to the family shows in the old building and it was "old" technology used then.

Oh yeah.. on the bus trip home. Lady got on with what we thought was a stroller and a crying baby.. looked and listened some more.. it was a pet stroller, completely enclosed in mesh with a zipper opening and it was a young kitten meowing over and over out of fright. Very odd, we see weird things on the bus, but this was not something you see everyday.

I like my cat, but not enough to buy a stroller and push her around town. :rotfl:

:lmao:Thats crazy! But you all know how I feel about animals.... I would rather have 6 or 7 more kids then get a pet. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of hubbies little sis. She was all over my face book page today letting me know she will be here in 10 days! I cant believe its that time already. NUTS! We have been on a hunt for a cheap twin mattress for her... The guy at sleep country tried to sell me an $1100 twin set. :sad2: Crack head! We found a nice mattress at Costco for $120. It is worth spending that much because we will give it to Kaylee when Julie leaves.

Hmmmm... What else? Went on a massive hike Sat. Seriously.. It almost killed me. I can tell you all this, because you know me so well.. ;) But I cried on the way back to the car. It took us seven hours... It was no joke STRAIGHT UP half way, and STRAIGHT DOWN the other half. In our guide book we have, it lists it as a four out of five in dificulty. PLUS we both had 30+ pounds of fat baby strapped to our backs. I had to have hubby put the kids in front of him because I had a total temper tantrum on the way back. I started blubbering right there, saying we were never going to get back to the car... and we were going to die on the mountain. :lmao::lmao: At least I made sure the kids were far enough away from me before I started acting like an infant. It only lasted a minute... Then I sucked it up and marched my fat butt down to the car. I was so sore afterwards... OMG! I was seriously considering shoving my husband off the dang mountain for suggesting it. But I made it!! And he was SO FREAKING proud of me! Didnt laugh at me once for crying. Thats a good guy. I would have laughed my butt off... :lmao:

We have an annual pass to the mountain.... Lots of hiking for us! But the kids all love it.. and the babies REALLY love it! I still use my mei tai with Jazz.. She gets all excited when I bust it out. 7 hours... and they didnt fuss or whine at ALL. Thats amazing. They cant handle being in the car for more then 10 minutes without throwinf a fit.

Staley Lady.. I have so missed your posts.. that was a fun read. :goodvibes
I love the little side comment.. "crack head" :rotfl:

Go you for hiking! What's with the hubby tackling the hardest one right off the bat? Suicide mission?

I can totally picture this running thru your head on the walk down...

Oh honey? How much is your life insurance policy? Why do you ask dear? oh no reason ..

SHOVE!

That's what you get for making me climb that mountain. Hmph! :snooty:

But then you realize it would be too much work and hassle to file the life insurance. Sigh... as you continue your death march down the mountain. :lmao:

OMG 10 days!! :yay: That went by so quickly! How exciting!!! I noticed her post on facebook, what a doll!

Morning and happy Thursday.

Sara that stinks about your car but you are SO lucky you have someone that can fix it for you!!! My dad can do the oil and such but at his age now he prefers not too and I pretty much have to take my car to the shop for everything now. I had an old van when the kids were little and it seemed like it was in the shop every other day. It was SO frustrating. That was why I finally broke down and bought my car I have now which was basically brand new. So far I have only had to put brakes on it and I need to buy new tires in the fall but I know how dang expensive cars can get. I hope everything gets fixed on yours and it is up and running soon!

Megan I used to LOVE hiking when I was younger but I agree that mountain sounds treacherous. Plus I am SO dang out of shape right now I doubt I could hike a 1 much less a 4 lol. I did a little hike when I took Katy to Coloma and about passed out LOL. I get exercised induced asthma and it was not pretty so I totally get the crying thing!! ;)

To me those are not fun. Hopefully he picks a little easier one next time. :) Hope you enjoy the visit with your sis-in-law :)

B your visit to the library sounded nice but the cat on the bus did sound a little weird.

I haven't stepped foot in a library in years. I used to love to read but I just can't do it anymore. I have started a few times but I usually get really tired and fall asleep after a few pages and I just don't usually have the time. I am glad to know that they still have them though for those that use them. In this day and age it is amazing with all the cutbacks!

Yesterday the girls and I went in to work and mom has this kitten that has found it's way to our office. It is really quite ironic since we just lost my cat and my other one is not long for this world. Sometimes I think god does things like this on purpose. But anyways it is probably 6 months old and I guess it just came wandering up to the door of the office a week or so ago meowing and wanting food so of course mom fed it. Well some of the gals in the office chased it away when mom wasn't there because they didn't like it crying. I HATE people like that. I LOVE animals and I can't understand mean people who would do that to a poor starving animal. I guess they threw stuff at it and poured water on it. I was furious when I heard that but mom got it to come back around and has been feeding it in a planter a ways a way and once she gets it "tamed" enough that she can capture it she is going to take it to the vet and see if it is healthy and if so she is going to adopt it. When the girls and I came to work yesterday it seemed fairly friendly and came over to us and we noticed it was injured. It appears to have an abcess on it's leg so I hope she does it quickly. It looks fairly healthy otherwise and I don't think it was wild but rather belonged to someone who either dumped it or moved and didn't take it or something. I have said many times that I prefer animals to some people I tell you! I feel so awful for what cruel people do to these poor creatures. In our business we see SO many that have been left behind when the people loose their homes etc.

Anyway I hope she is able to rescue it and that it is ok because as I said I think my old cat pib is not long for this world and they lost their precious dog that they loved so much about a year ago so they are going to be without any pets soon when pib goes.

Anyway Shane was supposed to have a friend over last night as well but luckily he didn't come because I wasn't feeling that hot and I ended up coming home from work and taking a long nap and going to bed fairly early.

I am feeling better today which is good because tonight is the girls swim party. Shane has to go to a soccer meeting so the girls and I are going by ourselves.

Tonight is when they will get their stuff from champs (Katy is getting some stuff but shelby won't get anything, you only get stuff if you were in the top 10) and then they get a trophy for participating for the year. Then they have dessert and do a slide show. So hopefully it will be fun and not too hot since they do it outside.

Then tomorrow is back to work and Saturday Shane has to work so mom and I are thinking about taking the girls to the movies.

So that is my next few days.

Hope everyone is having a good day and take care.

Megan- That's awesome that you went on a hike with your family. I agree with you, that is a very LONG hike! I'm glad that your kids weren't crabby from it. Awww...that's really cool and sweet that your DH was proud of you and was supportive throughout the whole hike :) I'm proud of you too for taking on that hike. It doesn't sound easy and I'm glad you did it! :goodvibes :yay: :woohoo:

I have plans tonight with 3 girl friends tonight. They want to have a belated b-day dinner for me, which is really nice. :goodvibes I chose a place out in Hollywood. We're all excited about it because it gives us a chance to hang out and catch up! :smooth:

Have a good day everyone!

I think the fire is done - for now at least. They are actually doing controlled burns at our lake - but it is so close they still freak me out. I know I have seen many a fires that resulted from controlled burns getting out of hand.

If the cats start singing - I will let you know. Then I will have to decide whether to throw them out because they terrified me, or try to market them

I didn't like "fire season" when we lived in Moreno Valley, the reports of x % contained and expected full containment months and months later  worrisome stuff. Hopefully the wind will cooperate and the fire will be fully contained.

We do have chipmunks that live under the house....but I don't think that is really possible??? Right??? :lmao:

Fire season scares the crap out of me - we haven't had anything bad since we lived here - but years ago they had a massive fire that burned a large chunk of the forest (across something like 100 miles).

Thats what I said.... Its not enough money for all the help he gives me with the babies... SO I let him live THIS time....:lmao: If he does that to me again, he might not be so lucky.

Julie is in full on count down mode... It is going to be so strange having a teen around. I was talking to her mom a few weeks ago, and she was like.. whatever happens.. Dont let her make me a Grandma!! :lmao: Ill do what I can. I have a feeling my husband will be ALL over that. He is so protective of his little sister. I think he will have a hard time seeing that she is 17... not 11 like she was the last time we saw her.
