Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

:rotfl2: I can respond to most of those previous posts with a collective: :lmao:

B - I would have loved to have seen the look on the teachers face :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

A - you and your dh are nuts. Cutting dryer sheets in half and then arguing about if you would still do that if you were rich? :rotfl: You wouldn't need to do laundry at all if you were a millionaire, you wouldn't wear any of the same clothes twice. Wear them once, and then off to charity or consignment stores!

Pix - It's your fault I have taken a serious liking to juicy couture. I found this juicy couture hat I want to buy for my Caribbean trip in October. Dh laughed at me that I would spend $88 on a hat just because it has cool pom poms on it.

Morning gals!

B don't ya just LOVE Target. I have to say that is one of my all time FAV stores. I can NOT go in that store and walk out without SOMETHING!! Good score on the movies by the way. I love that too. We have probably 2 or 3 thousand movies if not more. I had prob that many vhs tapes and then have slowly been converting over to dvd over the last 20 years. We don't have much of a life can you tell LOL. Most of ours are ones I have pulled out of the 5 dollar bin at walmart. LOVE that bin ;) There was a time when I would come home with 10 at a time! Not so much anymore but we would have marathons on the weekends too! Fun times! Hope your boys enjoy their freddy marathon!! :) And that story about your nephew was hilarious!

Alison LOVED your story. So funny! You guys kill me!! :) And thanks for the well wishes for today. I am anxious to see what she is going to say only cuz I just want to know what to expect and just get it over with. I am actually glad I am NOT having the full hysto at this point cuz I have heard that the ablation is a very mild recovery and we have SO much going on in the next month that I don't want to be out of comission. I just hope it "works". I am also curious as to what new hormones she will put me on. I told her since I will be on them permanently from now on perhaps I could get off of the standard bc pills and get on straight estrogen perhaps a patch or something since I won't have to worry about periods anymore and I am only taking the estrogen for the headaches. So we shall see. I just hope that all of this helps!!!

Anywho I am off here soon as soon as I drop the girls off at school.

Have a GREAT day everyone and talk soon! :)

I don't buy dryer sheets, I just use the ones people in my building leave behind in the dryer. It will work on another load. :thumbsup2

My sis and family are on the way to Kentucky.
I'm picturing one of those dreadful family vacation moments involving a crying preschooler, grumpy teenager listening to headphones (trying to drown out the noise and pretend he is NOT part of this family) and middle son with attention pan of a gnat yelling "are we there yet?! mooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmm he's touching me! Dad I have to pee.. " and flipping off other cars. :rotfl2:

At least they chose to not bring the family dog. :upsidedow

They've never gone on a family road trip, it was a big deal to plan, pack for 5 people, map out a route, find a hotel half way, etc. BIL wanted to drive straight thru (14 hours) , sis wisely pointed out that they can't even drive to our parents' without needing to stop and let the kids run around (3 hr drive).

I gave them our GPS, one less worry. If they get lost, they will know where they are while being lost.

Stuck at home for yet another delivery, I don't even know what the heck it is this time.:confused3

Our intercom/door buzzer system (via phone line) doesn't play nicely with our DSL. It will disconnect on the first try, but if you dial the code again it will go through to ring my phone.

There is one UPS guy for our area that gives up and just leaves. He won't even try another apartment, the other guy on our route always finds a way inside (our apt manager's wife keeps an eye out on traffic in our lot when she is home, she runs out and lets them in). He commented to me once that he thinks the younger guys are lazy.

I taped a bright pink post it on the intercom with directions. Now I sit and wait wait wait wait....

My conversation with DH tonite...

DH: What are you doing?

Me: Cutting dryer sheets in half.

DH: Why?

Me: Cuz you only need a half sheet to prevent static and then it makes them cost half price...DUH!

DH: But didn't you just buy them at the Dollar Tree? Weren't they cheap to start with?

Me: Yes, 55 sheets for $1. But now I have 110 sheets for $1.

DH: You know, someday babe I'll become a millionaire and you won't have to cut dryer sheets in half.

Me: I don't do it because I have to, I do it because I want to. Besides using a whole dryer sheet is wasteful, plus it saves money.

DH: But if I we were millionaires you wouldn't cut them in half.

Me: Sure I would!

DH: NO, You Wouldn't!

Me: YES I WOULD.

DH: NO, YOU WOULDN'T. Cuz I'm pretty sure you would just hire somebody to cut them in half.

Me: Well you got me there!

:lmao:

Wow, even the sale items are too much $ for me.

I did find a bracelet that's cute but I'm going to try and make my own. It looks easy enough and I'm sure it will be much cheaper than $26.00. Heck, I can probably make one for all of us (if it comes out ok) for less than $26.00.:rotfl:

Christina- that hat is cute. They sell purses that have those pom poms on it. :) I love the tote bag I got. It was a good bargain. :goodvibes:

I'm thinking of returning the Disney Dooney & Bourke bag I got. The shoulder straps are too long and it keeps falling off my shoulders and it's too long to let hang from around the wrist.:confused3 The straps aren't adjustable either, which is a bummer.

I made a ressie for myself last night for Blue Bayou this weekend. I miss their au gratin potatoes! lol. Maybe I should order a salad and a side of au gratin potatoes and see what they say. :rotfl:

I am hoping to get a scrumptious dole whip float this time because last time I was there, they had a CM who didn't know how to work the machines and she totally skimped out on the dole whip part. She put way too much for those who ordered just the dole whip. Some people started complaining and her fellow CM working with her, asked her to handle the money transactions and he would work the CM's. I felt bad for her because if you get stuck doing something you are not familiar with, it could be stressful and it wasn't her fault.

I recently bought a Mickey watch that has the blue jelly/rubber band. Well while I was on my trip, it just snapped off on one side. I don't know how that happened because I didn't mess with it or anything, but I think it was just a defective one.:confused3 I did try to just find a similar strap at a couple watch shops but they don't carry this style at all. :( I did also try Fossil but they had a similar style but the sales clerk said, unfortunately, the width of the watch face is too big and wouldn't fit their bands. Booooo :( Hopefully DL will let me exchange it for another one.

I have an appointment later today with my therapist. She wants to know how my trip went and see how I'm doing.

I think I'm doing better and my cousin told me she is proud of me for leaving my X. She took me to Old Navy and I bought a cute and light blue plaid colored top and a hot pink tank top to wear inside. I never had the confidence to wear either and my cousin was helping me and telling me that it looked good. She said she wants to strangle my X for crushing my self-esteem so bad and that she hates to see me all self-conscious.

Sarah- there is a Juicy Couture outlet in Camarillo and sometimes they have an extra % off their stuff, so you could score on their purses and such. :) I haven't been there in months but I did buy a purse from there for less than $100, and it was over $200 retail price. I also got charms to wear as necklaces for around $15/EA. :)

I also suggest Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sales, because the prices drop in their mechandise. I was walking through their store yesterday and they told me that their sale starts next Wednesday.

Yesterday I was in the mall and I spotted a cute accessories store called Diva. They have a website and you can shop online. I believe it's an Austrialian company. I scored on a cute Tinkerbell necklace for $6: http://www.diva.net.au/#/product/1608 I saw it and thought: "OMG! It has my Disney nickname!" :rotfl::rotfl2:

Their website prices are in AUD not USD, so you could convert it. :) I also found a cute robot necklace. I love cute robots and just have been looking and looking for a cute robot necklace for quite some time. I could never find one that appealed to me....they were either cute but way too small (the charm part) or looked odd. I found one for $8. I will have to take a pic of it later because I didn't see it on their website. They sell really cute Disney jewelry for cheap.

It was truly boring... more dialysis supplies. That we didn't need.

mmm sounds yummy, totally do that!

I bet they will, I've brought back broken name badges a year later and they happily swapped it out without a receipt. Doesn't hurt to ask. :)

Afternoon gals!

Rochelle I am glad you had a good time with your cousin and hope your meeting with your therapist goes well!

I am so jealous that you get to go to DL as often as you do! Enjoy BB! Love that place! :)

I went to my pre-op and it was fairly uneventful. My doc just told me what to expect which is pretty much what all my other surgeries have been like so nothing new there and she told me I can try a lower dose bc pill or even straight progesterine but then she didn't give me the scrip so I don't know if she wants me to wait until my post-op apt or what??? But anyway I had an hour to kill before my apt and I have been seriously wanting a better camera so I went to Targe to look at some I have been researching online and then AFTER my apt I went to a couple other stores and once I honed in on the two I preferred I checked out sam's club and they had one but not the other so that pretty much made up my mind and I got myself a new Nikon.

I used to have an old minolta film slr back in the 80's and it was a GREAT camera but A I want a digital and B I don't know where that one is anyway. Between all my moves and being married twice it has somehow disappeared. I have been hesitant because of the price and I REALLY need a new pc but I take a LOT of pics and lately my point and shoot just isn't cutting it. The final straw was at the swim meet. It is SOOO slow and for action pictures it is just unacceptable and when the girls had their talent show it doesn't take pictures indoors at ALL. It tries to use flash and if you are more than about 2 feet away from the subject it just plain doesn't turn out. And I would LOVE to be able to get some night shots and on and on. Mainly though I want to get some good action photos of the girls swimming and playing soccer and basketball and so I am really excited to try it out!!

Hated to put more money on my cc but I look at it as an early birthday present to myself ;) I told Shane this way he doesn't need to get me anything although if he REALLy felt the need I want the telefoto lens LOL but that may have to wait.

I am just really excited to try it out at the meet on Saturday!! I took a few practice shots of the girls and just viewing them on the lcd screen they look amazing.

Anyway just wanted to share my excitement.

Hope you all are having a great day and talk soon!

What kind of Nikon did you get? i just bought a S630 on eBay. I haven't used it yet but DBF is racing this weekend so I can't wait to try it our. It has a sports mode that take up to 11 pictures per second (or something like that) so I'm hoping to get good shots when DBF goes flying by me. :rotfl:

It's a D3000. I have been researching them for a few weeks and I don't know about you but it is like stereo instructions lol. All the different stuff and settings etc etc.

Mine has that sports mode as well and can do that rapid fire thing as well and I am hoping to use it get shots of them diving in the pool and swimming. Last week I tried to get that and even though I pressed the shutter BEFORE they dove in by the time it took they were already IN the water and all I got was a bunch of splashes LOL.

Katy does the butterfly and I REALLY want to be able to capture her doing that. That is my goal! :)

Good luck and I hope you can figure all your gadgets out!! I am hoping to be able to figure mine out as well! I am also debating about whether I want to drag it to DL as it is pretty big compared to my little kodak!

Oh and we are seriously thinking of doing the family race at the marathon but doubt we will be able to do it this year. I read all the info and it sounds SO fun!! I can't run so couldn't do the marathon but the family fun run sounds perfect for the girls and I! If we can't make it this year I want to do it next year for sure! :)

Mine is just a point and shoot but htat's all I need really. DBF is the photographer. He has the D300. Way too big and too many lens to change and filters and stuff like that. But he love sit. He's taken classes at the community college for photography.

I know what you mean about late reaction time on cameras. I press the button before DBF goes up the jump hoping to capture him in the air but all I get is his back fender if I'm lucky. :rotfl:

Right now there's not really any work for DBF (he's a commercial electrician) so he applied to do photography at Disneyland! I hope he gets the job! I will be going to work with him every weekend. :rotfl2:

I don't buy dryer sheets, I just use the ones people in my building leave behind in the dryer. It will work on another load. :thumbsup2

I used to do that, use them twice. But I find that using a half new one works better. Of course free used ones would be even better. However, I can't find any people (er...family) in my building (er...house) that seem to do laundry besides myself!:lmao:

Target is a MN based company, I grew up going there for all of our school shopping .. long before they expanded out into the US.
We can drive 15 minutes in any direction and find a Target, Super Target or Target Greatland. (Kinda like how CVS has exploded on the market.)

Walmart not so much, didn't have one in my hometown growing up and not sure I ever went to one until I had my boys.
We have a small one less than a mile away, the next one is another 30 minutes. I only know of one Super Walmart that is within a short driving distance, but it's icky and very UN-coupon friendly. No point in bothering to go.
I'm always amazed a the rock bottom prices on the basic foods like flour, sugar, spices, rice, condiments... Cheaper than the grocery store next door.

I remember Target in California when I was a kid. We don't have Super Targets here yet. As a matter of fact when we were on vacation in Florida I had to take a picture of DD and her BFF in front of the Super Target sign because their friends didn't believe Super Target existed.:lmao:

Stuck at home for yet another delivery, I don't even know what the heck it is this time.

He commented to me once that he thinks the younger guys are lazy.

I taped a bright pink post it on the intercom with directions. Now I sit and wait wait wait wait....

Perhaps you should try flirting with the UPS guy...works for me...our office now gets the first delivery of the building.:thumbsup2:rotfl2: There's just something about a man in uniform.:lmao:

OK, I'm going to ask a dumb question. What is Juicy Couture? I think it's clothing isn't it? I'm thinking Juicy is a brand name, but what exactly is Couture? Guess I need to go look it up.

Looked it up, no longer confused...well sorta confused. Seems to be an expensive line of clothing invented by two ladies, one the wife of a member of Duran Duran. Their headquarters is in a dumpy LA warehouse. They use quality materials and fabrics and only sell in expensive stores or their own stores.:thumbsup2

What I gather is that I will not own anything Juicy Couture until it is no longer in style and I can purchase it at garage sales for less than $1.:rotfl2:

I am so frustrated ladies. I have been going to the gym roughly 3 times a week, sometimes more some times less. I went shopping yesterday and I still can't fit into the size I've been trying for. I don't seem any closer either. I can see I lost some inches on my waist but nothing on my hips, thighs, bums or bazoongas. Seriously! Dh says I'm not exercising to lose weight, I'm exercising to be healthy. That's rubbish, I'm totally exercising for a small bum. I want to quit, I feel like all this effort and nothing is changing. Maybe I really do need to alter my diet after all. I don't want to though, I love pizza and burgers!
