Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

Well I'm not the one to ask about what happens to your body when you turn 40! That's when I found my lump! But I guess I've made it to 45 now, so it can't all be bad news.:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

I have the vertigo thing going on also. Part of the reason I use the sinus rinse is to keep things from getting backed up into my ears. I've had a couple of colds when I could barely stand up. Much easier just to prevent it in the first place.

A couple of weeks ago when i was on our medical insurance website I noticed that you could do a search for specialist and naturopath was listed. That would be really cool...it ends up not costing me anything to see a naturopath.:thumbsup2 However, it did say that some of the services might not be covered, so i need to check out their list and see what is covered and what is not. In Washington state, you are required to do 4 years of naturopathy school beyond college and be licensed. So you are allowed to be a primary care provider and thus I believe the insurance companies are required to cover the cost as if it was a regular doctor.

I found one listed on our ppo list that seems to specialize in cancer patients and he also works with your medical doctor. Some of them don't like to work with regular doctors and there is no way I'm going to give up my regular doctor. But I would like to try and see what type of complimentary approaches they can offer.

Popped into the mall and ordered my glasses today.
My state sponsored insurance won't cover progressives, I will have the line variety of bifocals. Chatting with the lady at Pearle, she said it's just as well not to get progressive (she had lined ones and prefers them). Unless you spend the $$ to get a better lens, the cheaply made progressives cause distortion in the mid range.
I picked out pretty pale blue, metal, oval frames from the wall of "approved" selections. At least it was a wall (small wall), I used similar insurance in the past at another store (America's Best??) they pulled out a box to choose a frame. Oooooooo I had 3 marvelous choices of cheaply made frames. They lasted less than a year before the color on the metal began to peel and the nose pieces were barely hanging on. NEVER again!
J's very first pair was from the "wall" at Pearle, suited him well for a long time.. and he's not gentle on glasses. :thumbsup2

I feel much better than yesterday, my body knew it was going to snow 24 hours in advance.. yeah for my inner barometer. :upsidedow :headache:

Tried to put together a coherent sentence on a support board, way too foggy. Spelled doctor as "dcter" on four tries, couldn't get the order right or find the pesky O.. saying D-O-C- in my brain but the fingers didn't listen.

E took pity on my almost whimpering self and handed back the electric blanket during his treatment "you need this honey, stop denying it"..
okay fine! :snooty:
I know, silly silly.

Give in? admit there is a problem?

Nooo never! :littleangel:

:rotfl:

I had enough energy after my errands to wash dishes and make soup today! Yum!

Glad you got your new glasses ordered.:thumbsup2 Just wish that you were feeling better.

Drive by Hi!

Drive by Hi right back at ya! I was thinking about you Saturday night when we were watching Anaheim 1 and wondered if you guys went. I had $1 bet on Stewart...but sadly lost to DD who had picked Villopoto.

My two fav's are Windham and Short and although I knew they wouldn't win, it's still good to see them close to the top.:thumbsup2

Yep, we were there. :thumbsup2 We are thinking about going to Phoenix this weekend, it's about a 6 hour drive, leave Friday night and come home Sunday. If I can find a cheap room then we will probably go.

We for sure will be at Round 3 at Dodger Stadium, again when they go back to Angeles Stadium and San Diego. My fav place is San Diego. We're going to make a long weekend out of it and hit Sea World on Sunday then drive home Monday. San Diego is about 3 hours from us.

I still like Reed. I think Trey Canard is going to do big things this season.

Sounds like fun! If I can convince sis take a vacation we would go to San Diego, the short one visit was enough to hook me and E loved it during his training one year.. ahhh I miss walking along the beach. :beach:

My plans to toss in a load of laundry and then just kick back relax were thwarted by my dn this afternoon. My sister's 11 yr old fell on the playground, popped open his chin and chipped 4 teeth (chipped corner front top tooth, chomped and damaged 3 lower front teeth.. not sure how they will fix those bottom teeth, he will get a cap for the top one for sure). I had the pleasure of watching the 5 yr old, he was okay to handle but I just don't have the energy or patience to deal. I see more signs of autism each time I see him, he will be formally diagnosed and start home therapy in a few months... which is great! But also heartbreaking for sis and my BIL.

Sleep? what's that? Okay I got 5 hrs, not enough but better than none!

Okay it's a Tuesday re-do: not going shopping, not watching any kidlets, no plans to scurry out the door, maybe some laundry.. YES!
And it's a free glasses day at Coastal Contacts with a code, just pay shipping and handling for glasses ($10-$15). It's good only for the first 5,000 orders today, go "like" them on Facebook for the code - starts at 11 am central.

I'm getting mine without the bifocal, didn't want to chance having the bifocal area in the wrong spot for my eye.

Thank you for this info!!

I just ordered a pair for $16.00! I just hope I like the frames, but if not I only wear them at night before bed anyway.

Awesome! Hope you like them, I did the extra coating package $28 shipped. I based my choice off of the size of the ones I ordered at Pearle. The bridge width was 1 mm more, figured it was close enough. E told me "go for the fun" so I got something out of the ordinary for me.

Hi guys. Thought I would check in. I have had a really busy week this week. I didn't read all the way back but kind of glanced. Hope everyone is doing ok!

Things are crazy at work because we are trying to get taxes prepared and then I have to do 4th quarter stuff and we also switched over to electronical payroll deposits and on and on so it's been nuts.

Then on top of everything ever since I got Quickbooks on my work laptop it has been running REALLY slow and it is SO frustrating. My laptop is pretty old and doesn't work all that great anyway but QB is a really big program so it takes a lot of memory and on and on. We have had a couple different people giving us advice on what to do but rather than upgrading my old one we decided to just get new cheap ones. So mom and I spent several hours yesterday purchasing new laptops for the office.

They are transferring my programs and data over and I can pick it up tomorrow.

So I am really hoping that it is a lot faster and more efficient and that I don't have any problems getting it up and running tomorrow (hooking up to the wireless and hooking up my printer etc).

Anyway then on Tues I had a dentist apt and today the girls have theirs. Tomorrow our CPA is coming back in and we are going to do more work on the taxes and hopefully print the 1099's and W2's and I have to do the payroll tax so it is going to be a crazy day.

I have also started back in on my diet/exercise and have been having a hell of a time. I have been working out almost every day and really watching what I eat and yet have not lost anything and last week I even went UP 2 lbs. So damn frustrating!!! Yesterday I finally went back down 2 but was back to where I STARTED on day one so to me that didn't really count and then today I was back up a pound again. I don't really count the days in between my official weighins which are on mondays but I kind of like to see what my body is doing in between and it is still frustrating to see it fluctuate so much when I am working out so hard and have cut back my calories and yet I can still go UP a whole pound in a day. I know it can be water retention etc but it still is maddening.

Anyway I just hope that by next mondays weighin I actually show a loss this time!

I busted my butt 2 years ago and lost 30 pounds and now I have GAINED 50 in a very short time. Since about last March. SO maddening and when I started gaining I wasn't really doing anything different and was going up like a couple pounds a DAY!! I really believe a lot of it had to do with my meds and the surgeries I had because I have NEVER gained like this and I also have never had this much trouble losing so I just hope I CAN lose it. So far after almost 2 weeks I haven't lost so much as a pound! So we shall see!

Anyway that's it for me. Again I hope you all are well and take care and talk soon.

Kelly.. meds do some icky things with weight, sucky!
That's part of the reason why I wasn't keen on using a med yet for the fibro, I read that Lyrica causes a LOT of weight gain.. and I already have enough thank you . Though if I started Cymbalta.. that can cause weight loss.. hmmmmm. :upsidedow

The other thing to consider, have you cut back on calories too much, too quickly? Your body might interpret this sudden decrease in calories and burning of calories as a reason to hang onto the weight. Maybe add a few calories back and see what happens, a small snack mid day might be just enough to get things moving.. :confused3

Good luck! You have way more will power than me!
I've had the PMS munchies this week-- blah!! Oh well, only a few more years and that won't be an issue any more. :rolleyes1

Just wanted to stop in and say hello. How is everyone? Staley-you saw a plaid car? Did you take a picture? :rotfl: I'd like to see that. lol.

Hello to everyone-hope you are all doing well.

I went to the park a couple days ago and it was really fun. I brought my Chewbacca backpack and I got stopped so many times by guests and CM's asking where I got it. :rotfl: It was really funny but I love this backpack and I think it's cuter than the Yoda one. :)

I'm not a big Star Wars fanatic but I do like Ewoks, Chewie and Yoda. :rotfl:

Started up a hip hop class again and I'm excited about that. Starting next week I will have another class, so I will have 2 hip hop classes. I'm really excited because it's so fun for me and it totally helps me to just not think about other stuff and just keeps me in my own element.

Last night I went to a happy hour with some friends. It was really fun and we didn't know the happy hour portions of food was so large. We had 3 pizzas, calamari and bruschetta, and it was just way too much food. :faint: We all got to-go boxes but the food was good, the prices were good ($8 or $9 for a big pizza). It's always packed in this restaraunt and I always wanted to try it. My friends ordered me a madori sour and I didn't like it. I thought it tasted like Robitussin and they laughed and finished the drink for me. At least I tried but I just don't like the taste of alcohol. After dinner we went to Cost Plus World Market and I had a coupon for $10 off of a purchase of $30 or more. I was able to find a b-day gift for my mom. Her b-day is this weekend and I also ordered a cake for her that I am picking up tomorrow. It's from this Chinese bakery but their cakes are affordable and delicious and light and have tasty fruit on top and in the filling :)

My siblings and I booked the Four Seasons for a brunch to celebrate. It's supposed to be extremley tasty food so I'm looking forward to it :)

Hope you guys have a good day! :smooth:

Pix, I didn't take a picture..... But it wsas crazy.

Okay... So Julie comes to me yesterday, and drops a bomb! Can she spend a three day weekend with her boyfriend at his moms house.. 2 hours away. :scared1: at first I was so shocked, I was like.... Ummmmm... We need to bring your mom in on this one. Then I talked to dh about it, and we both were like.... No! We don't know his mom, she is going to be to far away if she gets into a situation she can't handle, she hasnt knownhimlong enough for something like that, and she is just to young for a weekend with a boy! So we told her no. We aren't comfortable with it. We laid it out for her, she got it.. Thank goodness! I was prepared for a fight, but she knew we would say no. Why even ask then? I told her she could go for the day, but that's it.

Thanks B yeah I have cut back but at least I don't THINK I have cut back too much. I eat a small bowl of cereal in the a.m. whereas I used to never even eat breakfast half the time or if I did I had a coffee or something. Not a big breakfast fan but I read that it is REALLY important and I know that it is actually better to eat some protein like eggs and some turkey bacon or something but I am always on the run and never have time to cook breakfast except on the weekends so during the week cereal is the best I can do and maybe a piece of fruit. Then for lunch when I am home I have gone back to my lean cuisine meals or when I am at work I have had like a small bowl of veggie or chicken soup, no cream soups or anything and a small salad or sometimes just the soup. Then for dinner I always have a very small serving of whatever meat we are having palm size of chicken, beef or pork chop whatever it is and then large serving of veggies and maybe half a cup of whatever starch we may be having (rice, beans whatever). I try to eat some fresh fruit etc. And I am drinking my tons of water during the day and if I get hungry I am eating fruit or a few nuts etc.

I had that ablasion last may and I don't know if it threw me into early menopause or what and maybe that is part of the problem but I no longer have cycles so who knows. I also still have that tumor and I don't know if it has grown. Don't know if that could be causing problems. I am thinking if I can't lose anything after a month of trying then I am going to have to go to the doctor and see what the heck.

Anyway I picked up my new work computer and am off today to have a crazy day of taxes and trying to get everything figured out and then we have a really early soccer game so going to be another one of "those" days LOL but really looking forward to the three day weekend!!

Megan I think you did the right thing and boy do I remember those days. It wasn't that long ago I was dealing with that with my oldest (she is 19 and lives on her own now). Good luck and don't worry I'm sure she understands.

Have a GREAT weekend guys and hope you do something fun!! :)

I THINK WE SHOULD TALK IN REALLY LARGE LETTERS SO BERNICE CAN READ THEM AND NOT HAVE TO USE HER BIFOCALS!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
