breathtaking pictures alex!

I cannot imagine having snow year round. Although I've seen snow high on the San Fransisco peaks in August so I guess at least one mountain here has snow year round but only viewed from the north. That is up in the mountains in Flagstaff.

I'm so tired kids I need to head to bed. I'll talk at you all tomorrow! Night.

Good night, Shawna. :cloud9:

Hmmm. Little (3.0) earthquake here at around 10 PM tonight. It was on the peninsula (over an hour west of here.) We didn't feel it here. :confused3

Pix, I don't know if you're still here or not, but I need to head to bed myself. We have dental appointments for the boys and me in the early morning, then swim class (before lunch and nap time.)

Good night! :cloud9:

Good Morning Hyenas! Since we are proudly posting photos of our mountains, let me introduce you to "my mountain". Located a mere 35 miles from my home, my mountain is a lovely saint, Mt. St. Helens that is. She is not only beautiful, but quite feisty and willing to put on a show for everyone with only a moment's notice. She delight's all ages, however she can be quite messy (spewing her ash all over us) and she really rocks (yep, she sends us small earthquakes on a regular basis). Can your mountains do that?:lmao:

And here is our neighbor Mt. Hood, about 50 miles east of Portland, OR. This is what I see on my last stretch of the freeway coming to work each morning. Although it is very beautiful year round, on those cold, crisp winter mornings (when there are no clouds), it is absolutely gorgeous and you feel like you can reach out and touch it.:thumbsup2 See there's a reason why us NW Hyenas live here despite the gray clouds and rain!:thumbsup2

Here is my favorite place in the world to camp, the Lower Falls of the Lewis River. This is the river that runs through our town (although not this pretty after going thru 3 dams!). This is not too far from Mt. St. Helens and it has wonderful hiking trails along the river and 3 sets of waterfalls.:thumbsup2

I have floated on an air mattress under these falls in the summer. It is really awesome and the water is crystal clear, but you can't see the bottom it's so far down.:thumbsup2 This is the Lower Falls:

Good morning ladies.

My day was pretty good. I did some shopping, got some gifts and what nots. I came home and relaxed. I hurt my hamstrings doing yoga the other day so I've been using it as my excuse to take it easy.

I am troubled though, I read something in the news that happened in Canada on a greyhound. I'm not going to tell you what it was because it was gruesome and ruined my mood. So I'm here to just get it off my chest so I can let it go and move on. And there. I do feel better.

I'm going to gym to play table tennis and swim later. I can't wait, I love swimming. But my swim suit is starting to get to big for me and it's quite low cut and I noticed on Tuesday that my twins were peaking out as I swam :lmao: so I have to be careful. I tried to find a new tankini today but couldn't find anything. I can't wait to do some real shopping in Anaheim, everything will be cheaper and easier to find than it is here. I'm getting really home sick but I only have 1 month and 9 days to go !!

Here's kind of a kewl photo of the Cedar Creek Grist Mill in my town. You can actually go on weekends and the volunteers will let you grind your own wheat to take home and make bread. One of DD's friends lives right on the other side of this. This is a photo taken at the beginning of fall, but to me this is very representative of the foliage in our area.

And of course we also border the Columbia River, so we can actually go to the beach without having to drive to the beach, this is about 3 minutes from my house and hardly anyone is ever there. Being so close to the ocean and so large, this river also has a tide. You can drive out to all the "islands" during low tide. Favorite teenager excuse for coming home late, the tide came in and we were stuck out on the islands!:rotfl: :thumbsup2 This is just about 1/3 of the river, what appears to be the other side is actually an island in the middle, the rest of the river is on the other side.

Hi Christina! OMG I did a Google search after you mentioned the bus incident. That is absolutely horrific and I just can't imagine the horror of everything. There are some pretty messed up people out there.

Sorry you are so homesick.

Christina,

Hate to leave you, but I have a ton of work to do and was just about to get off the computer when you showed up. Hope you have a great day!:) :) :)

Well I loved all the pictures you guys posted. Some really pretty places where you are at.
I want to share some of my pics, I went to a castle and took these. I don't think I've shown them to you, if I have..sorry.

I just thought this tree was amazing. It was tucked away behind all these bushes and trees and I rounded a corner and there it was, I think I heard harps playing.

Yeah, this is a field just outside my city.

And this was the castle we visited.

Good afternoon, hyenas!
It's overcast, but I think it was sunny a little while ago. Sam and STaley, the Blue Angels must be coming in, because we hear lots of big noise! :thumbsup2

If we didn't have such a busy day this afternoon/evening I would have kept DS4 up from nap and taken them somewhere to watch! :thumbsup2

Sam and Christina, beautiful pics! I have so many gorgeous pics from the Washougal area, Sam, because DH's grandparents used to live in a cabin up along the Washougal River. Beautiful!

Christina, I love the picture of the tree in the clearing too! I don't know why it's so striking, but it is! And you have a great eye for photography! :thumbsup2

OMG!

There was something like this several years ago down by Safeco Field. Folks had enjoyed a wonderful summer night at the ballfield, then the game was over and the crowd filled the streets. I've always felt pretty safe out there with game crowds, but this one mentally ill homeless guy walked up to an older guy in the crowd and just stabbed him to death! Just random, out of the blue, senseless. The victim was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and longtime firefighter in his community, I believe. So sad.

I think of him every single time I go to a game or am just down in that part of the city. :sad1:

So the kids and I all had dental appointments today. DS7 had a 6 month check-up and cleaning, then was sent to another chair/dental assistant for orthodontic molds. DS4 had his first dental appointment ever; he got to ride up and down in the chair and play with the suction device. :lmao:

DS4 let the assistant polish 4 of his teeth with flouride. I was a little disappointed but she said for a first visit it wasn't bad at all. Considering how he has a fit about brushing, and certainly about me coming anywhere near his mouth, I guess she's right.

Then I received (and got instructions on) the teeth whitening trays! The doc had told me years ago that if I agreed to do braces again, he'd give me the whitening stuff for free. On my last visit a few weeks ago he asked me how it was going, and I said I'd never gotten them. (I felt silly asking for it, even though he said it would be no charge.) So we did molds on the spot and I got everything today. Gonna give it a whirl tonight! :thumbsup2

The assistant cautioned me to keep the bleaching solution off my gums (it can give quite a good chemical burn on the skin), leave it on the teeth no more than 15 minutes, and make sure to complete the whitening process at least 3 days before having professional photos done. WHY? One of the gals in the office whitened her teeth before family photos, and said they came out looking like she had a mouthful of Chiclets! :rotfl2:

Hello!! Mikalah and I just woke up from a nap.... Ugh. I know I feel like crap, and it just kills me to see her with the same thing. My chest hurts REALLY bad... SO her poor little chest must really hurt to. Poor kid. Oh well.. We will live. :lmao:

well guys, i took my test today....it was long,long,long.......I got there early and the teacher let everyone who showed up start early.....20 extra minutes...I finished with only 3 minutes to spare...but in my defense I did take my time and went back over problems I was unsure of.....I am going to be up all night waiting on the grades to post tomorrow....it was alot harder than I thought it would be...eeeekkkkk....

Staley, I hope you and the little one get better......

Good grief, what is this??? It sounds awful, and I'm so sorry.
Hope you'll be on the mend soon. :flower3:

OMG, this sooo reminds me of my college days! My best friend and I were two of a handful of women in the Computer Science program, and we'd study like crazy before an exam, then quiz each other after the exam, driving ourselves crazy wondering what we messed up on. :rotfl:

Then the day the grades came out, (as usual) we had some of the top grades, and yet the guys who got 'C's were walking around like they were the greatest studs on the planet. :lmao:

I know...I am making myself nuts...I just can't help myself...there were a few things on it I am not sure of....so I just want to know now....
