yep, they have to learn sometime right?

Sadly, I am the one with all the paperwork shuffling around here.
Need just a few butt kicks to get hubby to do his share sometimes

Then when we got home I started work on a ridiculous clog in my sink. Really. It took all my womanly know how to bust that puppy up!:lmao:
Good for you for showing the drain beasties who's boss! :rotfl2:

Oh brother. DH has trained the kids. He likes to tell people (in particular other women) that I'm the boss of the household. He tells their DHs that there's no question who's the boss in our house, and he doesn't even try to pretend anymore. (Yes, the poor henpecked husband routine.) Anybody who knows us, especially him, knows how ridiculous this is.

Anyway, so somebody was going on about DH being in charge, and DH starts in:

DH: Son, who's the boss in our house?
DS7: Mama's the boss, Daddy.
Me: :rolleyes2
Everybody laughs.
DH: Honey, who's the boss in our house?
DS4: Mama's da boss, Daddy!
Me: :sad2:
Everybody laughs harder...

I have been on Alex lately to handle his own stuff. Keep track of his swim suit for class.. his soccer stuff, whatever else he might need.

Everyone knows who is in charge in my house. Its no secret. :lmao:

I am about to KILL dh. He is getting all bent out of shape because Mikalah keeps coming over to him and talking to him. YES. We ALL know you are crabby when you get up. But she doesnt really understand. She hasnt seen you ALL day, and just wants your attention. :sad2: DONT YELL AT HER. Or I will stab you in the eye with a fork.

Yeah, I've been trying to get DS7 to take more responsibility for his stuff, with limited success. Hence, he got the borrowed books together and put them in his book bag, but forgot the paperwork. I'm reminding him 3 times to get his swimsuit into his bag before swim class. Wash your hands before you eat. Go potty before you leave the house. Brush your teeth!

We were out somewhere last week, and his teeth looked really odd. I told him they looked strange, and finally asked, "When was the last time you brushed your teeth???" He couldn't remember. "This morning?" Nope. "Last night?" Nope. "Yesterday morning?" Nope. :scared:

"Gross! Why haven't you been brushing your teeth, for pete's sake???"
"Well... You didn't tell me to." :confused3 :headache:

Oh NICE. Ick. I wonder why he isnt remembering to do that? The potty thing he never remembers.. EVER. and half the time I dont either. :lmao: But he is good about washing up and brushing his teeth and such.

DS7 is telling me about his school's student store. I don't think I knew before this year that they had one. :rotfl:

But he told me last year (1st grade, I mean) that his teacher used to give the kids pennies for good behavior, and they could save them up and then buy something. They had the same thing in 2nd grade, and every Friday during first recess they were allowed to spend their pennies at the student store. I have no idea if this is something school-wide or something these two teachers cooked up (they're best friends.)

Anyway, he was telling me how he used to buy rubber spiders and snakes with his pennies. :rotfl:

What I thought was cool was that he said he actually had two snakes he'd bought during the school year, but now only had one. Why? Because he gave one to a friend who couldn't buy one. :goodvibes

Aggh, my computer keeps booting me off tonight. I guess it was only fitting that I posted a Genie and then went poof and disappeared!

My favorite teacher was DD's 3rd grade teacher. He gave "points" to the kids. Say 4 for an A, 3 for a B, 2 for a C, etc... Then he would send a note home to the parents every couple of months that it was Garage Sale time. Parents could just drop boxes of "stuff/junk" off outside his door and he put prices on all of it and let the kids buy it with their points. DD came home with more "treasures" that year. But it was an awesome incentive for the kids, not to mention a great way for parents to get rid of junk.:thumbsup2

Wow, just sat down in the chair here and now I'm yawning and about to fall asleep. I had a bad nightmare last night and had a hard time falling back asleep.

What a cool idea!

One of my favorite teachers was a jr. high history teacher. She was a hard, demanding teacher, but also very bright and very good at getting the entire class working together to help one another. She assembled us into groups of four, and then moved us into different groups every month or month and a half. She had kids from different social groups seated together, kids of different abilities together, kids with different personalities together. She also had projects that we worked on as pairs or groups or even as the entire class. She also made up games to play that exercized or demonstrated our memorization skills of historical facts. She was awesome! :thumbsup2

Bummer about the nightmare. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. :flower3:

It's always cool to remember some of the great teachers. Of course living in a small town, we tend to know half the teacher's that our kids have. Mainly because they were teaching when we were in school. DD's 3rd grade teacher was DH's 6th grade teacher. Plus her PE teacher was my aerobics instructor when I was in my 20's, and her husband was one of my teachers in high school. Also, her history teacher last year was my & DH's history teacher in high school, plus he raised his grandkids and they went to the same babysitter as my kids. I just love living in a small town.:lmao:
