Yep, hunting is an excused absence at our high school if arranged prior to the trip. Check this out, page 9, section 2, paragraph C. Not only is hunting excused, but so is fishing, but apparently only if it's a family trip, so I guess that means Mom has to go also! And so are "Out of State" trips, so I guess that means we have to go to Disney for a vacation instead of Seattle. : http://www.woodlandschools.org/files/pages/whs/whshbk.pdf
wow, your dd's school has a TON of strict rules. The one I really question is the "no head covering allowed" but they didn't list an exception for religious belief (For example: Muslim girls who choose to veil) ?

*** Looked at J's rules.. they don't mention it wither, yet they have a rule that they can choose not to do pledge of allegience due to personal or religious beliefs. ******
Interesting they broke down every single possible "crime" and the punishment. The Nexus clause is interesting too, gee whiz.. no chance to be naughty at all

And by the way, what good excused absences from school do you City Dwellers have??![]()

Excused:
Illness
Family emergency
senior, college visits out of state
Part day only:
medical /professional appts
after health office visit/emergency during school day
Pre arranged: Excused only with approval of the vice principal and within guidelines of the school district rules...
And then we have "Unapproved absences".. parent approves BUT school does not approve for things like hair appts, vacations, driver's test.
(basically get it pre-arranged or umm lie .. he was sick,

We could get away with vacations mid year in Elementary-- but I won't now that J is in high school. It's just too much work to make up. Besides, with hubby now teaching.. we can only go during scheduled breaks.
When we lived in St Cloud they asked us to bring them in .. even if only for part of day... before appts or start of vacations, that way the district gets "credit" for attendance for NCLB rules. $$$$
