Hey Megan,

How goes?

I saw a set of Stargate movies at Costco the other day, and thought of you. Have you seen them yet? I wonder if they are a good price if you are interested?

I'm going to bed now. I kind of tired after our drive home today. And then tomorrow I have to finish unpacking, and start repacking for a camping trip next weekend. I know, I know.................we are busy! :upsidedow

Goodnight!

Hi!! Things here are some as they always are.. Staying busy, and whatnot.. Planning for my trip t0 see my sis next month. :woohoo:

I wonder if it was the series? We have a couple of seasons, and had talked about buying the rest. It is a pretty good deal. There is a new movie coming out on the 29th, and I am oddly excited about it. :lmao:

Oy... Busy lady! Get some sleep!

Dang it! I just missed you! :(

Had a good day. Went to the dentist for the usual cleaning, and talked with him about whiteners. He offered to give me some if I did the ortho a few years ago, and I did; I just never got around to asking him about it again, so he reminded me today! :thumbsup2

So we made molds and I'll get the trays and solution in a few weeks.

One of my GFs called me last night to see if I wanted to go to Storables with her today. DH was fine with staying with the kids, so we met up and spent a couple of hours in the store. (Ka-ching!) :rotfl:

Then we went to the Cheesecake Factory, then to the Clinique counter at Macy's (her) and Pottery Barn Kids (me.) I found a cute set of bookends for DS7, and got some other ideas there as well. They also had cute melamine pirate plates and cups on clearance, so I got a couple of each. :thumbsup2

What a fun day shopping!!!

Morning Hyenas.

Last night we went to a friends house and had a blast. They moved on the outskirts of town and we rarely see them anymore. Morgan spent the night with their daughter who is the same age.

Today is school supply shopping day! I absolutely love to buy school supplies. Even when I was in school I loved this. :cool1:

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Hyenas,

I'm at Red Lobster right now with my bf. Later I will post pics I took of the Pixar Play parade. I never saw it before until yesterday. Some guy tapped my shoulder twice and said one of his daughters couldn,t see. The thing is, I was standing in a space where I was not obstructing views for anyone and there was a ton of room to my left. Why they chose to sit directly behind me was stupid. I didn't even move around and there was only like 5 people sitting to my far left and there were tons of room. I also thought it was odd that he said this at the very last few seconds of the parade. :sad2: My bf was wondering what that guy's problem was.

Oh well. We got to ride Toy Story and it was awesome! :) I got 95,900 and my bf got 123,000. He whooped my rump :P

We are going to watch Journey to the Center of the Earth this evening. We just went to the mall earlier and I got pants from Victoria's Secret from their Pink collection. 8 also got a cool pink butterfly necklace from another store.

I hope u all have an awesome day :smooth:

Good afternoon, hyenas!
Sunny and beautiful today! :lovestruc

I hope the Staleys are enjoying the McChord AFB air show! The news said last night that there was a freeway backup for 5 miles yesterday, full of people trying to get there! There were shuttles running from Lakewood, so hopefully they already knew that... :thumbsup2

Today we had a lovely brunch at the ILs. Then afterward most of the family watched Ice Age on TV (DS4's request, and everyone else got sucked in.) DS7 didn't want to watch the movie, he wanted to play Monopoly, so I volunteered to play with him. But he got sucked into the movie, too! I kept asking, "Honey, it's your turn to roll. Honey, roll. Honey? Sweetheart, are you sure you want to play? Why don't you just watch the movie?" Then he'd insist on playing and roll his turn. And then turn back to the movie while I moved his piece around the board for him, then took my turn. Seriously, every roll he did this. :headache: :rotfl:

Finally the movie was over and DH said we needed to get home (DS4 needed to nap, and we needed to get the grocery shopping done), so we wrapped up the game (DS7 declared he won since he had the most property even though he was near bankrupt) and we cleaned it all up and made our way home.

Finally got DS4 down for nap around 2:45, very very late for him. Hopefully he wont' sleep too late this afternoon. :guilty:

And DH just got home with the groceries, so guess I'd better go help put them away. :)

Oh, I don't think I mentioned this yesterday, but I finally uploaded my pics from the Ladies Only trip. Of course none of mine are of Ladies Only events since I didn't attend any, but a few from Hyena gatherings are in there. And the rest (nearly 300 :rolleyes1 ) are just scenic shots from the activities my family did.

It's amazing to me that, even though we've been to DL 4 times now, there's still so much more new stuff to see and do! Nearly 300 photos, and these are just the ones where we aren't terribly identifiable, you know? Plus there were a lot of things I did not take pics of this trip because I did so on other trips. So these are things that were fresh to me! :lmao:

I hope you enjoy them.

Hello Hyenas,

Anyone here?

My bf and I ate lunch and then decided to skip the movie. We will watch it next weekend since we both have Friday off. :yay:

We went to Famous Footwear and I bought a pair of DC brand sneakers and my bf got a cool pair of Converse. They are having a sale: buy one get one 1/2 off.

Then we came home and started cleaning the garage. It's all organized and neat now. :thumbsup2 I got a $50 gift certificate to GAP that I have had for a long time. I went on their website for shoes: Piperlime and found 2 pairs of sneakers for $60 (with free shipping). :thumbsup2 :goodvibes I'm going sneaker crazy :rotfl:

DH went to the grocery store today. For groceries, mean. He called while there and said their garden department had trees on sale, and what did I think of getting 3 trees for the yard? And what kind?

I said, "Ummm... and where exactly are you going to put these trees?" Well... He was thinking of replacing a not-terribly-attractive tree in the back corner of our backyard... and maybe a tree at the side of the house... but he really wants another tree between our house an the wacky neighbor's house! Apparently he's had it with her weird little comments about how he is watching her through the closed blinds. He wants to block off the view between the two houses. :lmao:

So he bought a dogwood and two pretty (blood-something) Japanese maples. The maples will grow to 20 feet, I think he said, and 10 feet wide. Hopefully it will also keep her from knowing (and joining us) every single time we set foot in our yard.

Hmmm... No one's here. DS7 is picking up a bunch of little plastic army guys in my office. I've been telling him for weeks to get them out of here, and just now was sick of the mess he was making playing with them, so now he (and they) are OUT!

And DS4 smells bad. "Son, did you poop?"
"No, Mama."
Gee, why don't I believe him? :sad2:

DH is out on his nightly walk. Hopefully not encountering any obnoxious teens tonight. He came upon a trio last night trying to steal new swings from the park. (They take them for the chains, not the swings themselves.) He advised them to move along, and they got lippy and one threatened DH, saying there were 3 of them and only one of him. DH told him it still wouldn't be fair to them. :rotfl:

Their "leader" apparently realized DH was not afraid nor going to back down, and they said something obnoxious and left. And DH told me, "Those kids aren't even the bad ones that are in trouble with the cops!" :sad2:

All right, no one's here so I'll quit talking to myself and start the nightly routine. Hoping we'll all get to bed at a decent time tonight, since DH's knee repair is tomorrow. :)

Hello Hyenas!

Another drive by.:rolleyes1

My DS and DIL decided they were tired of my antiquated computer, and lent me their Apple to let me try. They have a lap top, so I guess it was OK to let me have theirs for a bit.:yay: So I just had a crash course on how to use it. Ha ha! Miss computer savvy here. But Derrick has over and over again told me that I have so much trouble with my old computer, because it is so bad. It was that way from the get go, and I have spent hours and hours talking to Dell about it, and finally gave up.

So I hope I can remember everything. So far, so good.

Alison, I wondering how everything is going for your Sis?

Shawna, Hoping you and Morgan are doing great.

Good night all!

Good evening ladies!! What a freaking BLAST we had today. It was the best airshow I have been to! They had KILLER planes, and the kids had so much fun watching them! So did we for that matter!

They had a Air Force Legacy fly by... Basically one of the newer fighters, and a p-51... WWII era. I was started bawling. They did this spiel on soldiers.. The writer didnt give us free speech, the soldier did.. All kids of those things... Then at the end it said the soldier fights so the flag burners can burn their flag.. OMG. It was all to much for me. Plus the fact that my dad worked on McChord AFB for 11 years on the C-130s as a load master.. I took Alex over and showed him the plane and told him what grandpa did, and how he did it and everything.. It was all to much for me. All I could think of was how much he would have loved to share this with the kids, and see their faces experiencing it for the first time.. So yeah... a super fun day, but oddly very emotional for me.

Oh, and Alex... if your DS doesnt like loud noises... I dont think an air show is right for him. The fighters are so loud they will rattle your fillings out! But that is the best part for us! You should have seem Mikalah cheering!! It was WAY cute!

They had all kinds of stuff set up for the kids to try out. There were so many planes on display, we didnt even get to see them all. They even had the Raptors out, which I guess is very rare. They run along the more "classified" lines. Most of the planes you could go in, the big ones.. You couldnt even walk over to the Raptors though.. The were fairly heavily guarded.. I cought Alex looking all googly eyed at one of the guards.. It took me a second, and I realized what he was pining after. YES, it is a real gun... NO!! You cant touch it!:lmao: :lmao:

They had a Tora, Tora, Tora (Pearl Harbor) re-enactment.. VERY cool. That was what Frelan really wanted to see, but he was taking the kids potty and missed most of it.

Alex got to go on a Striker, which was WAY cool!! They had a whole little Army compound set up.. They were doing the camo face paint, and Alex had it done.. He had his hair done before we left, so he was sporting his bright res mohawk, and all his missing teeth... After the guy did the face paint he said, Show me you war face!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: FUNNIEST THING EVER! Oh YES Alex.. Like a elementary school punker gone wrong!:rotfl2:

They had bounce houses set up for the kids.. Mikalah actually went on the big slide.. The look of terror on her face was PRICELESS!!:lmao: They had the Brown Bear, from Brown Bear car wash...

I had Frelan clean out the car before we went, thinking they might do random car searches.. But nope, we popped right on base. It was very surreal for us! We live RIGHT around the corner from the base, so no need to go on the freeway. It took us about 5 minutes to get there and park, but it took us about 45 minutes to get off base! There were THOUSANDS of people there. But it didnt feel crowded at all. It was very spread out! VERY. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the car, and we parked in front!:lmao:

They had a bag check set up at the entrance, and it SO reminded us of Disneyland!:lmao: Security was tight. Very TIGHT. Only small bags, small lawn chairs, and clear plastic bottles of water were allowed in. And YES.. It was enforced.

It was the most fun we have had in a very long time. I so hope they do it next year. I will know to check the schedule better. I was really looking forward to seeing the Stealth bomber fly, but that was Saturday only. Plus we will get there earlier. We got there around 9:30 or so... The planes started flying around 11, so we missed a ton of the planes they had out. Unfortunately... the Thunderbirds didnt fly until after 3, and by then we were wiped. But we had to stay for the big event! OH MY. I know that I have seen them before... Probably a bunch of times. But it is WAY cool!! Those planes were so close, Ill bet the could smell each others farts!:lmao: :lmao:

Wow.. I think this is the longest post I have ever written! Sorry!! This is what I grew up doing, and it was very special to take the kids and show it to them. Anyways.. BEST DAY EVER!! I love me some loud, fast planes!!!:lovestruc

Dang, girl! What a blast!!!

You're right, the boys (especially DS7) don't like loud noises, but I still think they'd love something like that. DS7 (and therefore DS4) is really into anything Army right now. He would have LOVED getting his face painted and being asked to "Grrrrr!" :rotfl2:

Oh darn! Hold on, the dryer is screaming at me...

And the boys do look pretty cute in those big orange ear protectors. :lmao:

It was INCREDIBLE. Seriously, best one air show I have ever been to. I have been to ALOT. HUGE. TONS of planes.. It was fantastic! But yes... very loud. The kind of loud that just punches you in the gut, if you know what I mean. Alex was fine, but Mikalah did cover her ears a few times..namely when she started getting tired. But none of the other kids around us seemed to have issues with it. So maybe it wasnt that bad? I dont know, we are kind of used to it since there are some fighter out of McChord, so every once in a while we hear them..

The boys love watching the Blue Angels; we can see them a bit when they practice for Seafair, and of course the actual performance. But we've never gone to an air show before.

I went to a few small ones many years ago, and I really enjoyed them. I loved that you could tour the planes and talk with the pilots. DH knows a bit about the military and planes and things, and I think he'd love to show the boys. I just think DS7 especially would love it. (With the ear protectors.) ;)

Hopefully next year they will do this one again. I know they havent had one far a few years because of the war, heck.. I was really surprised they had it this year.

That would be cool, it sounds like it was really awesome! I wish we'd gone! :thumbsup2
