oh man.. hubby and I are sucha bad influence on our boys

:rotfl2:

Hubby asked N, hey do you want Taco Bell?

N had just finished sucking down a can of pop.. he walks over and says what? BBBBBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRP right in our face.

Hubby and I burst out laughing and hubby says "good one!"

Then I realize.. oh we are soooooo bad.

N asks why?

And hubby replies.. put it this way, if you did that at Auntie's B's house and she was your mom. You would be grounded for bad manners.

N replies

oh

and smiles.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry future DIL, but burps are dang funny things!

:rotfl:

I have 2 rubbermaid containers of fabric I bought after getting so excited to sew. Dh's pirate costume came out fantastic but I've been nervous to do anything else. dont know why. If it doesnt work try again right? still nervous though.:lmao:
Apparently this is a known phenomena with people learning to sew! My instructor told me that once you sew one item, you want to quickly sew the 2nd item while everything is still fresh in your mind. So many people take a class, get all revved up and then never make anything more because they get too intimidated.

I'm not nervous about sewing per se, but I am nervous about threading the machine right and remembering what all to do on the machine. Of course that will all be different on a different brand anyway, right? :rotfl:

You flip the little lid up and squeeze it onto the pan. then you spread it around like you might butter or pam that was sprayed in one area. Its a liquid.
Wow. I don't really care for day-to-day baking, but definitely for a special cake, that would be awesome!

Oh darn. I heard somewhere how to get your cakes to not have the big hump in the middle, but I can't remember what it was now. Does it have to do with uneven baking temp? I can't remember...

I did notice people talk a lot about changing their ADRs. And how difficult they can be to book. So if they're that difficult to book, why would you change them once they're made??? :confused3

Is it a case of people constantly changing their mind? That would just be a scheduling nightmare, I would think!

I know I changed my mind on a couple of PSes, and that DL only has a limited number of places. But I changed them to allow us to make a certain parade/show, or when a better time became available. Some people make it sound like they change things around constantly before the trip, that would drive me NUTS!

This has always been my problem with the system. There are a few big restaurants that people want that sell out within minutes 6 months in advance. So right at the 180 day mark we always knew people would be calling for Cinderellas at 7am and for the first 15 minutes that would be all the calls. I had to get up at 4am to do this for my family now. :scared1:

But the schedules are not out that far in advance so people wanting to do Early Morning Hours or avoid them or just know when the parks are going to be open and closed cant find that out til within the 6 month time frame.

Then and for us this is the largest one. I have no clue what we might want to eat when. So on say Saturday Oct 4 if I want one of the big restaurants at a decent time I need to know months in advance. But what if I'm at AK instead of MK on that day and I dont feel like leaving an hour and a half to get over to my restaurant. Or what if we are just not hungry that day.

For this reason I only have the 4 major meals booked. Luckily we are going during a slow period so it might not be impossible to get in that week like it is during holidays or the summer.

Lets just say I'm glad my family is happy with Counter Service meals.

but yes its stressful for most people who try to schedule everything in all at once.

DS4 is up and at 'em, so I should go. He was up around 2 (not having napped) so I chased him back to bed. Then he was up before 4, and I asked if he'd napped and he admitted he hadn't. :sad2:

I told him that was too bad, because we had planned to go someplace special to play tonight, but "Now I guess you can't. DS7 will be able to go, but I don't think you can because you didn't nap."

He ran away, promising to go back to bed and "I'll nap right now!" :rotfl:

It's too late to nap now, bucko! :lmao:

I've sewn all the pj pants and Morgans shoe holder for the back of her door. I should get a pic of that it turned out reallly cute. Then Jeff's pirate costume was awesome. It was a puffy shirt with ruffles. Will Turner eat your heart out! :lmao: Its just when it comes to clothing for the kids (something not just to sleep in) I am intimidated a little. Stupid I know. :lmao: Plus I'm always thinking, well, I should be doing laundry or cleaning instead of sewing. :sad2: more ways to get out of it. I need to get on the ball though.

And what I learned is to drop your oven temp down 15-30 degrees from the recommended temp and then bake it for a longer period of say 10 minutes more if you drop it 30 degrees. I've had luck with this method but its trial and error. Then I use a cake leveler to cut off the dome if I do get one.

:rotfl2: that is so funny the way they try to get out of things. I'm constantly surprised although I shouldnt be because I did the same thing. :lmao:

Wow, no kidding!

I can see trying to get one of those booked up ones, and keeping trying if you can't. But once it's booked you probably want to hang onto it!

And I can see changing something if it conflicts with the ONLY time you can see X.

I try to plan only one meal a day, and the other is counter service or outside of the park (in DTD or at the hotel.) If we have an early dinner, we try to do an early lunch, if it's a late dinner, we'll snack in between. It helps, too, to let the boys (including DH) know where we're planning to eat so they can sort of prepare their stomach's expectations. DON'T eat a heavy meal for lunch if you're having a HEAVY meal for dinner! And so forth. ;)

I messed up totally when we were booked for the princess meal. I think the PS was for 2 or 2:30 and I forgot and DS4 and I sat down for lunch at the hotel. :headache:

So we shared a plate of two mini-burgers, then went back to the room to see if I could push back our princess meal. Thank goodness there was an opening for around 4, so we took that, and had a nice nap in between! :thumbsup2

Thats nice. that you could do that. see at WDW the princess meals fill up like crazy so no walkups no time changes. I've found even if I'm trying to get into Blue Bayou at DL I can call a day ahead and I'm fine. Might have to have it a little later or earlier but I can usually get in.

I got through at 4:03am on the morning I was to book Cinderellas and I got the last morning table at 10:10am. I really wanted the 8am slot. but I'm glad I got it. Now, I really dont want to be at MK on that day I would love to be at AK on that day but I have to go to MK in the morning and go to AK after the meal and miss my morning time with the animals. I'll go to AK on another morning day but it throws a wrench in my plans. :lmao:

This was the one reason I didnt want the dining plan. I hate having to say "no we cant do that because we have to eat at X time and for whatever reason we wont have enough time" So we end up wasting a lot of time just waiting for those ADR's. :lmao:

we are not scheduled eaters. Might snack all day might have one large meal and not want to eat the rest of the day. Plus with humidity we wont eat much. When we lived in FL I was so thin because I hate eating when its humid out. :rotfl2:

maybe I should move back there.

Ok I have to get going to get to this birthday party at 6pm.

I'll talk to you later tonight hopefullly. :goodvibes

Shawna, I know exactly what you are talking about. It took me weeks to figure out the best plan. When there are 4 parks, and everyone of them has different hours, it is really hard to get it together. And then you add in Early Entry and Extended Hours, it just adds to the senario. And those EE hours aren't for all of the parks, just some. Say one day Animal Kingdom will open early, and Epcot stays open late. But the MK stays open late that night anyways. So how do you choose the right one for that one particular day? We went right before Christmas, so I kept track of the crowd level for each park from the Unofficial Guide on the web. We had park hoppers, so I tried to work the crowds with that too. I made a spread sheet, that constantly changed, because of some glitch. Finally I had the best one I could figure out, and then made our ADRs. We had a party of 10, so it was hard to get those at times too.

It is a very daunting task!!!!

OMG - STALEY - I FOUND YOUR SMILIE!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I love it!

Hello everyone! Phew... Busy day, huh?;) I had a nice boring day. I was super crabby in the morning.. go figure, eh? But I MADE dh do the laundry for me.. Well.. He ran down and did the leg work, but I still had to fold it all. :lmao: Then I MADE him do the dishes.. and throw Alex in the shower. Such a POOR mistreated man! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh well.. I took Alex to his last clinic, and I stayed to watch him.. I took the girl to the nursery, so she could have some fun too. I was gonna go work out, but that is about the last thing I wanted to do!:lmao: So all in all.. a nice boring day! My favorite!

Oh, really? Had to go back and read your post. :rotfl:

I was gonna take the boys to Pump It Up tonight, but they were really not behaving well this afternoon, so after several warnings, I just gave up and said we were NOT going.

They had been told if they had very good behavior we'd go, so when I said we weren't going they were devastated... for about 5 minutes. :sad2:

Then went right back to the pushing/shoving/wrestling. Tonight DH and I made them clean up toys in the family room and a play corner of the kitchen (where their bookcase and computer desk are.) So now it's clean, all the boys are upstairs and hopefully getting into bed.

Kids sure can be stinky, huh?

Yeahhhh. Well, partly my fault for not getting them out today to let out some of that energy. Actually thinking about it now, Pump It Up would have been the best thing for them.

But DH shuddered at the idea of DS4 with no nap going out in public. :rotfl:

My house is pretty quiet now, too. I think DH must have gone to bed, too. He usually gets some dessert for the two of us before that, but he had a long, tiring day today.

We found out he's going out of town on business Mon- THur. next week. :(
He's worried about us, I'm worried about him. :sad2:

Im sure you will ALL be fine.

Hiya kids.

Back from a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. The cake was a hit. The sign turned out really well. Thanks for the idea Bernice and Alex!

I'm so glad my kids are over Chuck E Cheese. Well, Jake isnt but Morgan is done with that place. She decided instead of going to the party (family friends) she would rather have gone to Open Gym at the Gymnastics place. She finally did her back walkover without help kicking her legs over tonight which is good since its in her solo. She's so close to her back handspring its not even funny but she is still scared so she requires a spot. ONe thing I know about tumbling is that you cannot be scared or you get hurt so we will work on it some more before she attempts it without a spot. :scared1:

So, anyway, Chuck E Cheese is the same as he always is. Jake had a good time and came home with 2 top spinners that I'm sure I'll throw out in the next day or so. :rolleyes1

Then we went to Ikea to look for lamps for Jakes room. He thinks he wants to switch it to Pirates theme (its currently Nemo). I want to get one of their wall lamps to put up on the top bunk of his bed. He is sleeping up there now instead of the trundle and he needs a little lamp. We couldnt make up our minds so we left and came home.

I know. If he'd said this a few years ago, I'd have been a little freaked out at the idea of me and the kids by myself for 4 days straight. :rotfl:

But I know we'll be fine, I'm not worried about us at all. But this trip apparently involves all-day and late-night meetings, basically 15-hour days, which is way too much for DH. Apparently they do break for lunch and dinner (woo-freakin'-hoo) but I told him he needs to take it easy when he can, eat as healthy as he can, and make sure he gets a good night's rest.
