Hubby and I were discussing your friend while we were driving around today.
Something you could say to her is:

If you had found that her husband was cheating/having affiar-- wouldn't she want you to tell her? Better to hear it from someone you know.

Thanks B.....and you know that is true....we even had this little traditon that we started when we were really young and really broke...at christmas every year we exchanged our gifts after christmas so we could get a better one for each other....it was fun...you had a dollar amou nt and we had to see who could get the best buy....little things, little thing

Yeah, I read that fairly recently, where several people said they started getting all kinds of weird ads and stuff popping up after copying smilies. I assume copying smilies onto their computer rather than the way you're doing it.

Sounds more like getting tracking cookies and a trojan -- and those my dears.. you can pick up just about anywhere.

Just looking at any old website. It will download without your premission.



I just downloaded and updated a bunch of anti spyware/adware programs (free) and cleaned out an icky one that was peeving me from the laptop.

It looked like an antivirus program, almost the same logo as AVG ( which is a legitimate antivirus freebie program). It came up as Antivirus 2008, it wouldn't let me go to certain pages (like ones where I could find out how to get rid of it).

Had balloons warning me that I needed antivirus updates... if I had clicked on it..(didn't click because I knew it was a fake) it directs the user to their website and then won't let you leave until you buy their download ($50), which then doesn't work.


I get these trojans /spyware crap at least once a year-- sometimes they just slip thru my AVG. Usually becuase it wasn't updated... like when we move.

ok, so I was weak and opened my door....she knows where I stand, where DH stands...she ask for until tomorrow night because she wants it to come from her and she has to work tonight....I told her I would relay the message..

she then told me I hope you know what this is going to do to my kids....that made me so mad...so I had a pretty nasty come back that i can post..but it involved being on ones back...and should have thought of that...and I wasn't there not to blame me....

so she left crying and our twenty something year friendship is now over.....

are u sure?

You would be getting weird "balloon" warnings, it will say Antivirus 2008

On your add /remove programs list it will say "Antivirus 2008" you can remove it there.. but it might come back.

I went here to download and use the adaware and spybot programs.. spybot found it right away and I jsut went step by step on the list and got rid of it all.

I know when I switched my AVG to 8 .. it looks different now. It should say 8.01.... as it's current build in the lower left corner where it says "statistics" on the user interface.

but it will be good to run adaware and spybot on a regular basis even if you are not infected.. cleans up all the tracking cookies and junk.
