Chasing a Dream: September Trip Report Update 12/11 FINAL THOUGHTS/TRIP FAVORITES

Last year we did BBB then had dinner at 1900 Park Fare too! The girls did the same princess hairstyle as your DD. I like that one best. It's more natural.:goodvibes We loved 1900 Park Fare last year. It may even be our favorite of all the princess dinner's we've done. Can't wait to see if you enjoyed your time at Park Fare.:thumbsup2

Just found you, so sign me up! I have really enjoyed your report. My kids are simiar in age (except mine are both girls!) and am interested in how your little girl enjoys it. This will be our first trip in April and we are so excited! Oooh! I just saw that your son is a Halloween baby! My oldest daughter is too! How cool is that?

The BBB looks wonderful. We haven't decided on it yet-have to convince DH!

Waiting for the next installment!

The princess hairstyle is my favorite too! I was glad that is the one she wanted! :)

Thanks so much for reading & posting!! You are going to  Disney World!! Some people say 4 is too young, but I think it is a perfect age, everything still holds all that magic and they are just in awe of everything!! The only problem we had with Rachel is being scared of some of the rides. But she loved it, still talks about it and said to me yesterday "I really wish we could go back to Disney World!!" She has definitely got the fever like me!! :)

Rachel is adorable with her princess makeover. princess:

Thanks, I think so too! :)

Rachel looks soooo adorable! She certainly knew how to pose for those photos! lol.... Her bangs looked great!:thumbsup2

When I left off we were leaving MK and heading to our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Well we head to the monorail and get on the wrong one!! :lmao: So we had to ride to the Ticket & Transporation Center in order to catch the correct monorail. I was a little tired and ill at this point, afraid we would miss our dinner. We were about 10 minutes late, but they didn't say anything, just gave us a pager and so we headed out to the lobby in the Grand Floridian and listened to the piano player. Our buzzer went off about 10 minutes later and we were seated. I was worried that we might also have a problem because the only reservation I could get was for 6 people and we only had 4, but it was a non-issue. Thank Goodness!

So we were seated and right away Prince Charming came. I was not very impressed with this Prince Charming, he had about zero personality, and had on a very bad wig! :rotfl:

Alan had went to get his food but Cinderella was not far behind so I didn't get up to get food for a while! (Funny, Alan had no problem with me not being able to eat, he was just stuffing his face, not concerned that I had not eaten 30 minutes into the dinner! Men! :rotfl2: ) I did jump up to get the kids food after Cinderella though. The things we mom's do for our family, huh? :)

So Cinderella was next, she was very sweet.

The Stepmother was not far behind. She was AWESOME! The stepmother and stepsisters were all great, so into character. She came up and did not crack a smile at all. She signed the kids autograph books and asked Hunter if he and his sister got along. He said "not much." She said "that's good, you can't get along with everyone all the time" or something like that. She talked to him for a while, it was pretty funny.

Up next was Anastasia (I think?). She was hilarious. She would be yelling "Cinderella!, Cinderella!" in this high pitched annoying voice throughout the restaurant. Rachel didn't want her coming over, she acted a little scared. I asked her what was wrong and she said "momma, I don't want her to scream in my ear!" :rotfl2:

Then came Druscilla (?):

At one point Cinderella & Prince Charming started dancing and then the stepsisters would be going around asking people where was Cinderella.... They put on a great show, the stepsisters & stepmother make that character meal for sure.

The food was great (when I finally got to eat! :) ) I had prime rib with horseradish sauce (so yummy!). I tried some of the strawberry soup that I didn't think I would like but was pleasantly surprised! I also had ceasar salad, chicken marsala. Everything I ate was really good. Alan really enjoyed his meal too. For dessert, they have all these little mini desserts to choose from. The best for me was the chocolate mousse and little cheesecake squares.

So after we finished our meal it was around 9:00 and I think we were all beat. The constant being on the run was finally getting to us, so we just decided to go back to our room for the night.

I really want to go back and eat there now that the step-family is at the meal, you make them sound like so much fun, not to mention that strawberry soup is so yummy!

While we were enjoying 1900 Park Fare, Dawn, Ray & Hadley were at Liberty Tree Tavern. She said their meal was great: Turkey, dressing, potatoes, macaroni.... all the good down home cooking! She said they had really great character interaction, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale. Here are a few of her pics:

Goofy took some time to play with Hadley's monorail: :rotfl:

After that they stayed in MK for a few rides and some pics. Hadley stopped to buy one of these:

They had taken a really long nap that day while Rachel & I were at the BBB appointment, so they were well rested and ended up staying in MK that night until 11:00.

I was in a dilemma whether we should have went to LTT with them, but chose 1900 Park Fare for Rachel since it was the day of BBB. I am glad we did and we got some separate family time that evening, although Dawn said that Hadley was missing me that night, asking when they would "see Tammy again!" I do hate that we didn't get to try LTT though, since I hear they are stopping the character meal there! :confused3

Our Best Day Yet - Morning at Epcot.....
And the rudest woman EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just caught up on your last updates.i loved the pics of Rachel with her BBB makeover. She looks gorgeous and is happy and smiling in every picture :goodvibes . Sorry you didn't have the best FGM, we had the one that was next to yours in one of the pics ;) and she was great, though I can't remember her name. I think we have to go back to 1900 Park fare for dinner, it looks great. Sorry you had to wait 30 minutes before getting to eat  . All I have to do is give my DH a nasty look and he will let me get the kids and my food first  . Too bad LTT is getting rid of the characters that is also a favorite of ours.

DH and I ate at LTT last Oct, for lunch, and it was great. I had this orange smoothie thing and creamy tomato pasta for my main dish. It was delicious. I've heard other DISers not happy with that same Prince Charming. I have heard the stepsisters are great! I'm going to have to check out the menu on allears to see if it's someplace I would like to eat.

The step sisters really do make it more fun! When we were there Anastasia picked up a kid's stuffed Mickey, held it upside down by it's foot and screamed across the dining room, "Cinderella, Cinderella, eww a mouse got it here." My girls thought that was a riot.

Wow, we really did end up at the same parks a lot. I was at Epcot the next day too. Hope I'm not the incredibly rude lady.:rotfl2:

Thanks, she had a great time at the makeover. Yes, you should go to 1900 Park Fare, it was really good. Next time we'll have to try LTT, even without the characters.

Rachel was just too cute in every picture. I can't wait to hear about the rude lady!!

Thanks! Rude lady is putting it nicely, I had some other names for her! :rotfl2:

Yum, that sounds good, I want to try it next time. I looked at the menu for 1900 Park Fare and wasn't sure I would like it, but I thought it was really good.

That is funny about the stepsister at your meal. No, you definitely weren't the rude woman! That is coming up next!!

Well since this was one of our best days, I couldn't wait to get to this point in the TR!!! :goodvibes

What turned out to be a great day didn't start off that way.... First of all, we were running kind of late, so we just did a snack for breakfast. Alan only got a banana, so he wasn't very happy, he gets ill when he's moving on an empty stomach! :rotfl: The men don't get the importance of wanting to be at rope drop. We head out to the bus stop and had to wait a while for a bus, not too long, but long enough since we were wanting to get there early. I wanted to have a chance at being Family of the Day, but we didn't make it in time for that.

So here's my rude lady story. When we were getting off the bus at Epcot, I was pushing Rachel in the stroller and Hunter was walking beside of me, talking to me and there was this older couple in front of us. Well I was looking at Hunter as I was talking to him and that lady stopped in front of me and the stroller bumped her foot. It was not a hard hit or anything, just a slight bump. As soon as I did it, I said, "oh my goodness, I am so sorry." I figured that would be the end of it, but no.... She turns and looks at me with the most evil look and screamed "WHY DON'T YOU WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!!!!!!!!!!!" I said "Geez, lady, I said I was sorry!" Well I went on although it affected my mood for sure. Well, she was still back there running her mouth to her husband saying "the lady up there with the d*mn kid in the stroller...." Well, Alan heard this and got ticked. He went back to her and said "look lady, my wife said she was sorry, you don't need to keep running your mouth and certainly don't bring my kid into it!" Well she just kept on, it was ridiculous!! He then told her she needed to either learn how to walk or get herself a scooter! :rotfl: She was an old lady walking with a black umbrella on a super sunny day. I wanted to tell her to stick her umbrella where the sun didn't shine!! :rotfl2: I can laugh about it now, but it really upset me then. I thought, good grief people, this is Disney World!! You are going to get bumped by people/strollers, etc every now and then!!!!!

So after this like I said, it had really affected my mood, but thank goodness, good things were yet to come to make me forget about the old hag!

So we make it thru the turnstiles and start heading to the rope. I turned around and say "Where's Hunter?" He had met up with a CM wanting to trade pins.... We had a talk after that, I told him he had to tell me when he wanted to trade, not to just stop because it would be easy to lose him in the crowd! At this point my nerves were frazzled but we make it up to rope just in time as the characters were coming out....

Disney2008060.jpg

Disney2008063.jpg

We were able to make our way up to the very front, and I started to lose my sour mood and soak in the magic. One of the CM's told me he liked my mickey shirt.. I got a little hopeful but then saw they had already picked the family of the day. The kids got to hug the characters, which I didn't get pics of, I was just enjoying the moment with them. So when the rope dropped, I told Dawn, let's go to the character spot first because I knew the lines would be long later. Alan said "we need to go to Soarin or the line will get too long!" I told him if so we would just get a FP. So we all head to the character spot and as we walked in a CM said "congratulations, you are the first family of the day, how many in your party?" I told him there was 7, so we were lucky enough to get this awesome group photo with ALL the characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!

image0766.jpg

This made our day!!! We were so thrilled to be able to get this pic. What a great magical moment!!!! We really hit the character jackpot this trip!

Then we got to meet with all the characters individually:

So after we had come to the end of the character line and headed toward the exit, we were lucky enough to find this lady standing there!!!

She was a great Belle, so sweet and talked to Rachel and Hunter both for a long time!!! She twirled Rachel around and talked to her for a while and then she asked Hunter what his name was and after he told her she kept calling him "Prince Hunter." It was great!

Our great day continues at Epcot....:goodvibes

What a nasty lady, sorry about that. Good for your DH going back to have a chat with her :lmao: . Glad you hit the character jackpot. Such cute pics of all of you with them! The ones with Belle are adorable too.

ugh... I can't stand people like that. I have encountered a few too during my dis travels. I always bend over backwards to say, "no, no, that's ok" if someone bumps me and apoligizes! Some people just missed the sprinkle of Pixie dust when they come on in the gates! Love the group picture and your daughter just cracks me up! I love her little hands in all the pictures. She just looks so delicate! Adorable! :)

Don't you hate it when other peoples foul attitudes bring your day down. :headache:

That group shot with the characters is great, what a unique opportunity!

The pictures of the kids with that characters are great as well. :thumbsup2
