Chasing a Dream: September Trip Report Update 12/11 FINAL THOUGHTS/TRIP FAVORITES

I've heard good things about the Ohana's breakfast, Hunter really likes Stitch so this is one he is looking forward to! I will take lots of pics and maybe even some for food porn!

too funny! We went to Ohana's and it was great for breakfast! The funny thing to me was that Mickey really had the backseat at this one! To our family it was all about Stitch! We went there just for him! The breakfast was yummy and the juice was great! It was some kind of passionfruit guava juice and my kids and I loved it!

I've heard of the juice, sounds yummy, can't wait to try it! I also like that it is served family style instead of a buffet for a change!

I've been collecting Mickey heads from Home Depot too! My husband thought I was horrible. My only defense was, "but everyone else on the disboards does it too." He seemed amused by the fact that hundreds of people all over are "pocketing" (not stealing right?) the Mickey Head paint samples from Home Depot.

I too have pilfered (sp) those myself. I collected WAY too many and the lady working the paint dept gave me a weird look when I left with my stash. I know that if I told her that I was making a calendar she might not have looked at me in that tone of voice.

6 weeks from our trip!!!!

Sorry for the delay in updating, life has been crazy. My baby is at football camp this week and starts practice on Saturday for tackle football! I wasn’t thrilled about him playing, but he really wanted to (we’ll see if it lasts after a few practices! ) so we are letting him give it a try. He is in 7 & 8 year old division and they have these boys practicing 6 hours a week!! Whew…. So anyway, if he decides to stick with it, I’ll post pictures once he gets his uniform!

Last night was so funny, Rachel decided to dress up in her Minnie costume and Hunter said, “you are the prettiest girl I have ever seen Rachel. No offense to you Mom!” It was sooo sweet! Especially since the norm is fighting like cats and dogs!! No offense taken Hunter!!

I did receive the backpack and shirts I ordered from Disney.com, so I will try to post pics soon. I also bought the posterboard for our Countdown Calendar!! We’ll have to work on that this weekend. Wal-Mart had a cute mickey shirt on clearance for $3 that of course I had to buy!! Then we went in there this weekend and they had a whole bunch of women’s Disney shirts for $8. They were really cute but at some point I have to stop!!

At work today they offered us the option of working a 4 day week, which I would love, but unfortunately don’t think I’ll be able to do. I could do it for the rest of the summer, but once school starts back there is just no way. Hunter can’t be at school before 7:30 and has to be picked up by 5:30. Plus I think it would kill me to work a 10 hour day! I can barely make it thru the 8 hour days!! I don’t think I put it in the first post, but I work for an Energy Company, I am the Admin to the President. Alan works for the City as a Maintenance Mechanic, Dawn is a Kindergarten teacher and Ray is a mail carrier for the post office. Anyway, I realized I forgot to put that in the first post.

I hope details of life in between trip planning doesn’t bore you, but since we still have 6 weeks to go, there will have to be some of that in between!!

I have been reading Megansmom’s TR, got a lot of good tips from her PTR on things to buy before we go, I will definitely be hitting the Dollar Tree soon for glow sticks and ponchos!!

Okay, so now on to Day 4 (and our last full day….boohoo!!! )

Okay, on this day we are heading to Epcot bright and early for opening. We’ll just grab some breakfast at the Pop food court. Once we arrive at Epcot, DH will run to FP Soarin and then we’ll head to either the Character Connection or to TT to ride Standby. I don’t know which we should do first, because I really don’t want to have to wait in a long line to do either…. I guess while DH is grabbing FP’s for Soarin, we could hopefully be one of the firsts in line for the characters so that shouldn’t take too long and hopefully the TT line would get over 15 or 20 minutes during that time…. So anyway, after TT we’ll head over to Soarin and the Land for Nemo & Crush. Around noon I figure we’ll head over to the World Showcase and just walk around (since we missed this entirely last year!!) I hope we’ll run into some characters on the way! I saw on punkin’s TR that she bought her nephew a Pokemon pillow in Japan, so Hunter is very excited that he can use some of his souvie money on Pokemon stuff. I guess we’ll do lunch in the WS, last year we ate Mexico CS and I really liked it so this may be where we stop again. I’ve not heard very good things about most of the other CS in the WS. We could eat at the Land before hitting the WS so we’ll just see how the time goes.

After pretty much a full day at Epcot we will head back to the room to rest before the Fantasmic show at HS that night. I hope to arrive early enough to maybe get one last ride on RnRC and TOT, but we’ll see…. If we leave Epcot early enough to get back to the room and rest a while, then we can head to HS early and grab some CS for supper. I really liked Pizza Planet last year but Alan or Hunter didn’t like it so this year we may try Backlot Express or ABC Commissary. Any opinions on those two?

Thanks Annette! Football camp is over and all went well, actual practices start Saturday, so things may change, I'm sure its not near as fun as the camp! I was kind of hoping he wouldn't like it, so much running (for me and DH), lots of practices, seems too serious for 7 year olds!! But we're giving it a try....

Mini Update:

Last night I went to the Dollar Tree and bought our ponchos and glow sticks for the trip! The ponchos are 2 for $1, so I was happily surprised! Unfortunately that is where my happiness ends... I took Rachel & Hunter for a haircut last night. I normally take them to Great Clips, but there were 8 people ahead and a one hour wait... so we walked over to Wal-Mart to the salon in there. Hunter's went fine, you can't do much to mess up a buzz cut. However, the lady we had was not too kid friendly. She asked how short I wanted Rachel's bangs. They were down in her eyes practically so I said, well right much shorter but not too short (if that makes sense!) Apparently to her it did not, because she immediately hacked off her bangs to the middle of her forehead!!!! And to top it off, they are seriously uneven!!!! You would think a good beautician would cut off a little and say "do I need to go shorter?" instead of immediately cutting off 1 1/2 inches of bangs!!!! Then this morning, Alan reminds me that we have an appointment for a family picture tonight for our church directory!! That just topped off what has been a not so great week!!!!!

I am just so grateful that Disney is still a month away to give her bangs time to grow back out, can you imagine being like that for her BBB appointment???!! I certainly learned my lesson, we will NOT be going back to Wal-Mart for haircuts EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

I am hoping for a better week next week... Hopefully I'll get a surprise in the mail....like our travel package!!! I don't know though, since we went thru Southwest Vacations, I want to say they said 20 days prior.

Anyway, Happy Friday everyone! This weekend I'll post pics of my disney buys and of the jacked up hair on my beautiful girl.....

Hi Tammy! Oh gosh that is just the worst about your daughter's bangs.. Being I am the "cheer hair" person.. How about taking your daughter's hacked off bangs and pulling them together and doing a little twist and the clip them low on her head. It will create a little "poof" and maybe they won't look too akward for the photo. Just an idea.

I love, love love the DT rain ponchos.. I always bring and buy extras because sometimes we just use them on the wet rides and toss them. I know it's not the most "green" thing to do but hey.. it's vacation!

Sorry about your DD's hair . They did quite a job on Thomas hair last month and that was at a kids place. of course he does move around a bit . By time your trip comes DD's bangs will grow. I agree with the others just side sweep the bangs for the church pics, if that will work.
