chased down for a tip

Oh ya she came running after me.

We had dinner at WCC on Thursday. We were a group of 10 so 18% was always added to our bill.

With 3 rooms so 3 dining cards I always tipped on my 2 and my sister tipped for her room.

We had awful service at WCC. The server would disappear for 10 minutes at a time.

My tip portion was $31 and my sister's was $20. I left mine at one end of the table and my sister the other. The server chases me halfway across the lobby to tell me her tip was supposed to be $51 and I only left her $31.

I asked her if she bothered to notice the other check with the $20 on it

Is it just me or was this a little unprofessional?

I would have went off on her and got the manager on duty!!!!!!!!!

This most definitely needs to be reported to Disney management. It is unprofessional and absolutely ridiculous. A tip is a tip. Whether you leave $51 or NONE, it is not up to servers.

Write to wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com and complain.

I was ticked and she was not not polite about it either.

My nephew says to me "aunt Sherry I think our server wants you she is yelling running behind you"

I was not a fan of this mandatory 18% either because they can ignore you and know they are still being tipped.

Glad to know others would have been mad also.

We actually got dirty looks when we did not leave the suggested 18%. It was a buffet. We served ourselves. All she did was bring the drinks. Also got dirty looks at the GF at the GF Cafe. The server got my DD breakfast order wrong. Why should we give 18% when it was not up to par? Also, many of our servers pointed out the tip to us and told us how we could pay for it. The nerve!

I wrote to Disney about this. I acually got a call back from the Executive Office. I received a nice apology. The lady I spoke to said that they need to retrain their CM about the tipping procedure. I would let the Executive Office know so that this does not continue to happen.

Yes very unprofessional!!! Being a server its a shame Disney puts a server in a position to have to do that, but then again if they don't give good service then they should not expect 18% tip.

OK so explain to me how it works...we've never used the dining plan before. So they automatically ADD on 18% tip? Or is that b/c you were a party of 10? And if they add it on then why did the lady think you cheated her out of some money? We don't have a choice as to what we tip them? Suppose it sucked and I only want to leave 10%? Or same for buffets.....unless the service is exceptional...I'm not planning to tip any more than 15% (AT MOST) for a buffet since I will be doing all the running myself.

I'm not going to be happy if they automatically bill me 18% tip!

How rude of that waitress. Just for that I'd have gone back and changed the maount! That is VERY tacky and I'm shocked that she could get away with doing that at Disney.
