We were on the phone with Chase today looking to convert our card to a Disney visa. In the course of conversation, they told us that they have a DVC visa, but that they couldn't convert us to that one, that we would have to call another number to apply for it. We couldn't get any other information on it.

Does anyone have or know anything about the DVC visa? What are the benefits and why did you choose it over a regular Disney Visa?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Joanne

We've had ours for a couple years and to date there have been no real "perks" but several times when we paid with it at a WDW dining location, we have not had to show our DVC card to get the DVC discount. I really wish they would offer a DVC perk occassionally. We use it a lot, pay it off monthly, and enjoy the rewards each visit to WDW.

Is it a better deal than the disney visa or the same?

I had the same problem when I tried to switch my Disney Visa to get the DVC Disney Visa. They told me I would have to close my account and re-open another. It seemed like a hassle at the time and I never did persue it. I am interested to see what others were told and how easy it is to switch. :confused3

Don't worry about it. I've had this DVC visa since day 1 and no one has ever said "hey, you're a DVC member."

We are thinking about converting our existing Chase card to Disney and wondered if you can get the $25 bonus rewards when you convert. Has anybody ever received the bonus when you converted an existing card to the Disney card? Thanks -- Suzanne

We've been a Disney Visa Card charter member from day 1. Last year after we joined DVC we had our card Embossed with DISNEY VACATION CLUB on them. I guess this is our way of getting the DVC card. The only person to really even say anything about it was our local post office clerk... He simply asked, "Where are you deeded to?" and of coarse that got the ball rolling and we talk about it every time I see him.

I converted an existing VISA account to the Disney Visa. It was before before CHASE took over. No bonus dollars allowed to convert. Don't know if Chase will be the same, though.

Best wishes-

I called this morning to have one of the new cards sent, with the Castle on it! :cool1:
She asked me if I had been a card holder since day 1, I said yes.
I told her I was a DVC member, too (I know we din't get any perks because of it, but why not ask if they can put it on there, right?) She sounded like she thought I was crazy  Had no idea what I was talking about so I just said don't worry about it, no biggie.

The Disney Visa card can either state Member Since Day 1 or Disney Vacation Club, but not both. We decided to stick with the Day 1.

The are no different perks having the DVC Visa vs. the regular Disney Visa. The only difference is that the card has "DVC Member" embossed on the front. At one point they had a promotion running where you could get $50 bonus dollars when applying for the card -- I'll look and see if I can find a link for it and post in this thread.

Found a link...here it is:

My husband's and my Disney Visa has CARDMEMBER SINCE DAY 1 and under my name it says DISNEY VACATION CLUB.

If I call and order one of the new ones, will it still say both?

My card says "Day 1" and under my name, it's embossed DISNEY VACATION CLUB. The background is red with mickey outline and lots of stars. I don't think it's a DVC visa cards but just a disney visa that identifies me as a DVC member. It still says Bank One on it. I wonder what the new ones from Chase will look like.

Can you get anything other than the red background with the Mickey head on the Disney Visa? Just wondering if anyone knew.

Ours has Cardmember since Day1, then our name, then Disney Vacation Club.

In the Chase newsletter that just came out it says new ones are being mailed. The default is the red pixie dust one same as the old Bank One card. Or you can get the castle, and a few other choices. We decided to stay with the red. I'm hoping it will still say Day 1 and Disney Vacation Club on it.

Hmmm, so I got the 1 lady that didn't have a clue what I was talking about then. Bummer. Oh well, I still got the new design :cool1:

I called to order the new card today (chose the castle, because it was a limited edition) of the 50th celebration, and really didn`t think to ask if the, DVC Member imprint, would have to be ordered again, since it is already on our old design (from Bank One) :confused3
I`m wondering if I should call back, or take my chances ??!! It seems that not too many people @ chase knows whats really going on about the cards anyway. I made our request to an autimated system, then called back to see if the order was recieved, and believe it or not, the REAL person didn`t know anything about it!! :earseek:

Interesting - we were told we couldn't have both.
