I'm guessing there is some confusion over exactly how "Member Since Day 1" shows on the card.
There's only room for two embossed lines on the card. One is for your name, and the other can be used for "Disney Vacation Club".
As with most cards, there is a "Cardmember Since" section. "Cardmember Since" is in black ink and is not embossed. The embossed wording can then say "Day 1". That's how you could have both
DVC and Day 1 on the same card.
My guess is that if you ask for both, the person on the phone thinks you are asking for a third line to be embossed, which they wouldn't be able to accomodate. Yes, they should be able to tell you it can say Day 1 in the "cardmember since" area, but apparently not all of them figure that out.
On the "double reward points", what they tried to do was set the spending level at a threshhold that is high enough to get you to spend more than you had in the past. There were some cases where they didn't do this completely right, but for the most part, the more you had charged in the past, the higher they set the reward level. Stinks if you were already charging all/most of your purchases on the card.
I`m wondering if I should call back, or take my chances ??!!
Disney Vaction Club SHOULD still be there. If all they are doing is ordering a new plastic (card), the embossing should remain the same. The things printed on the card reside in their system, and there should be just a separate field for the type of plastic. So changing the plastic and reissuing should not change anything on the card (unless they update the expiration date).
That said, it wouldn't hurt to call back since the rep could have misinterpreted something and made a change you didn't actually ask for.
