Chase Disney visa.....

We have the Disney Visa and use it for various things, but today I ran into a lady behind the counter where I was purchasing something and she said she has a Chase card and uses it to pay her mortgage and her car payment.

REALLY? I didn't know you could do that.

I didn't have time to ask her any more about it because it was busy, but just curious if any of you do that and how you set it up? I don't have a car payment but do have a mortgage.

I was going to do it with Dd's school tuition but they include a 3% charge on it for credit card payments. Wasnt worth it then...

I checked but it can't be done with our mortgage company (Wells Fargo). Oh well!

Just depends on your own loan situation! We don't have a mortgage, but we did have a car loan. Our particular car loan (through Chase!) didn't allow CC payments; had to be a check or a withdrawal from your account, or a transfer.

So call your loan companies!

Me too... I keep begging WF to allow us to use cards, and have actually been told that it's in the works, but have never seen anything about it yet. Would love to get Disney reward points for paying my mortgage -- that's my biggest bill by far!

Our mortgage is a bank draft and we don't have car payments but I pay all of my other bills with my Disney Visa. I use it for gas and groceries, too.

Thanks for this thread...will be calling my mortgage co tomorrow to ask! I have it setup auto-pay anyway - just would take it from Visa instead.

I just used $188 of rewards to pay for 3 and a half of our MVMCP tickets...in fact, I'm on hold right now waiting to finalize the deal!

I will likely have at least $25 more in the next 2 months before we go and it'll pay for one of our CS meals too!

I was told the same thing at my DDs school - bummer! I have a Chase Mortgage - and was told I can't use a Chase CC to make a Chase mortgage payment.

Our Mortgage company will not let you use what they call "debt" to pay off more debt.

I use it to pay my cable, electric, phone, trash pick up, anything I can. I pay off the credit card every month in full, I earn more points and plus I have to write less checks and save on postage....

Even used it to pay off our dvc.

We had chase and they charge so we didnt uset he card. We now have wells fargo so hopefully they will let us pay with cc without a charge. I'd be a happy camper. I have $155 rewards and most of it was for paying utilities when there was 5x or 3x bonus

I am surprised mortgage and auto lenders would allow you to trade secured debt for unsecured debt. Put the stuff on the visa, then walk away......

I wonder if the woman was confused.

I too have never heard of using a loan to pay a loan without some form of penalty, I just hoped the Dis knew something I didn't!

We do use our Visa to pay for cell phones, Directv, etc...but I would pay cash if it would give me a discount!

Considering that most users of CC spend more than the 1% extra the Disney card gives you.....it would be better for most to have an ING account and just fund it every month and use cash than to count on Disney rewards.

But I was hoping.....

Has anyone heard anything about Wells Fargo letting us pay our mortgage? Last I posted I had $155 rewards since Oct since then I'[ve only earned $2rewards. I dont use my card as much but for extra points i would then pay it off

In general, you can not use credit to pay credit.

I thought that was the case too.

However, I pay all the bills I can w/Discover so I can get the percentage cash back.
