Chase Disney Visa not paying for referrals

A friend used my refer a friend card to get her Disney Visa in the Spring. Chase has not credited my rewards for her signing up. When I called Chase about it, the representative said that they could not do anything about it and would not even take my friend's name because of privacy issues. Have you had this happen to you and what did you do about it? The crazy thing is that now Chase has sent me an email saying that I can earn reward points on my Chase Sapphire card for referring friends and family to apply for a Chase Sapphire card. I will not be doing that.

I have 3 people I know of for sure opened accounts with my referral and handed out a couple other referrals of interested people. Did not get credit for any! Tried talking to chase 3 times to no avail. Frustrating but still going to use my chase cards.

I'm sorry that happened to both of you. I received my referral bonuses on both my and dh's cards. It is possible there was an issue with Chase, but these are things I would double check:
1. Your friend may not have gotten approved but did not want to tell you. (I would not double check this! But it is something to consider.)
2. You get the referral money after your friend makes their first purchase on the card. (Not when they get approved and not when they activate it.)
2B. And it will not show up until your normal payout date. For example, my closing date is the 2nd. If someone used their card for the first time on July 3rd, I won't see that bonus until my August payout on Aug 2. It is possible that it even takes longer than that - they do not necessarily post that you are eligible for the bonus the instant the friend uses the card. For the referrals I gave out in May, some showed up in June and some in July, and if I have any that posted for August I'll know this week.
For anonymous referrals you'll just have to hope it shows up eventually; for friends you could double check that they used their card and when. For op, since your friend applied in spring she should definitely have used it by now as she would need to spend $500 to get her own bonus!
I hope both of your bonuses show up after all!
ETA: My August rewards had another bonus. We did receive a total of 5 referral bonuses between my card and DH's. I don't know whether all of my referrals went through, but $250 in free Disney money for us and $1000 in bonus Disney money for those we referred makes me happy!

aliceindisneyland, I'm happy you received your referral bonus. maria's_mommy I'm sorry that you are in the same boat as me. There should be a way for this information to be tracked. Chase does not seem interested in being fair or keeping accurate records. If their system has a glitch that does not record a referral, then they do not have to pay out the referral bonus.

I understand glitches happen, but for me 3/3 is not a glitch but just refusal on Chase's part to the tune of false advertising. I complained 3 times and each time they opened an investigation and each time I got a lame excuse including I was not offered a referral offer so I faxed a copy of my referral card then they couldn't discuss it due to confidentiality. I finally gave up. I use my Chase cards for every purchase and not going to quit but aggravated.

I would assume the person didn't get approved and hence no bonus to be paid.

No, one was my mother, another mil. Both approved,opened account, using it and got their bonuses. Third was an acquaintance with no reason to lie. And handed out 2 more to interested people for solely their benefit since I had already given up.

Maybe you can have your mother or MIL call and check on the status of the referral. They can say something like I just want to make sure I did the referral correctly and that Maria's_mommy received credit for her referral? They might be more willing to look into it since they are the ones that applied.

They might be more willing to look into it since they are the ones that applied.

If you do this, please let me know if it works! I had at least 2 successful referrals for my Chase SWA RR Visa and never received my points, and Chase hasn't responded to my emails. Haven't called them now that I've read it could be pointless anyway.

How about a 3 way call with Chase and your Mother? This way you are all on the phone together and can approve each other to discuss each others business.

My August 10th statement shows the additional rewards for two of three referrals that I made. Keep checking, it may just depend on the cycle of both the new account's statement as well as your own.

I had referred a bunch of folks a good while back. We had a June trip and I had earned $350 in referrals on mine and DH's cards. On my last statement that I got about a week ago there was another $50 credit for a referral:good vibes
I wasn't expecting that so it was a nice bonus to see. Keep checking…maybe they are just behind schedule in posting the bonus rewards. I hope it all gets worked out for you guys that haven't gotten your bonus' posted.
