Charter flights from Halifax questions

Orlando is my favourite destination, we have a timeshare there. But airfare is always the toughest problem. We have many aeroplan points, but they're difficult to use I feel discriminated against because we're a family of 5 - no blackout dates, but 'subject to capacity controls' screws me every time.

What experiences have you had with charter flights out of Halifax?

I assume they're direct to Orlando, or perhaps via Toronto. My wife has taken a new job as a private college teacher, so we're constrained to the typical times, like March break, summer, etc. In the past, we preferred September or October due to lower crowds. April wasn't too bad, about 3 weeks past Easter.

How early can these flights be booked?

I have to book my timeshare well in advance, and I prefer to book air at the same time to lower the risk of scheduling problems.

Any other advice?

I've travelled Canjet through Transatholidays (2007) It was direct. Excellent flight. in fact, I just booked 5 tickets through Transat for a Canjet charter in February 2009. Less than 500 per person (everything in) Direct. They show lots of flights, although as you move to mid February, the price goes up.

I suspect they won't last long at that price .... you did the same thing as me. I've been lurking and lurking .... then I saw it. Took me about 10 seconds to decide .... "Honey ... we're going to Disney"

This is great news, as soon as I saw it I booked. April 8-18, $558 taxes in. Can hardley wait. Thanks for the great info.
