I understand purchases made at the parks can be put on your room bill. Is this correct? Also, does this include restaurants and/or counter service inside the parks?

yes, that's correct and it includes pretty much everywhere on property except some carts where you can buy drinks and small snacks.

Yes, just like a credit card. Also, if it's an item you don't wish to lug around, they'll deliver it to your room.

Actually, they will deliver your purchases to the gift shop at your WDW resort. I believe you only get delivery directly to your room if you go the concierge route.

I want to offer a little advice on room charges. We did room charge on our trip and loved it! Very convenient.

Since I was paying cash (no credit cards allowed on vacation) for everything I had a set amount of spending money and I was worried about over spending. So, each night when we got back to the resort I went to the desk and had them print out a list of all the days charges. Then I went back and balanced my checking account. This way I knew exactly what I had spent that day and how much I still had to spend. Worked great for us.

One thing to be aware of...they do put a "limit" on the charges to your room key at the resort.

I believe the limit changes depending on the resort (i.e. deluxe resorts allow a larger limit).

Once you reach the limit, you need to call the front desk and have them "bill" the credit card. This then opens up the limit again.

I believe it's the following:

Value resort is $500.00

Moderate is $1000.00

Deluxe is $1500.00

I've always stayed deluxe and I've never gone above $1100.00 during my stay. We put everything on the room carge, All meals and purchases and then I just dump it on my Diners Club at the end of the stay.

we were told they would just charge it to our card automatically if we hit the limit - fortunately we didn't charge that much so I am not sure exactly how it would have worked.
