Charging things to room??

Can you do this? And what can you charge? I am wondering because the less cash we have to carry around the better. I am thinking food, drinks, purchases etc...

You can actually tie your room key/park ticket, better known as your "Keys to the Kingdom" to a real-life Visa Card. If you do this, you can leave your wallet in the room. Also, if you are on the dining plan, your Key to the Kingdom will have your dining points on it.

I know you are probably wondering what happens if you lose your key. This has happened to us before. You can go and get a new one pretty easily, but you need ID, so why not just carry around your wallet?

Yes, they will just ask you to leave a credit card number when you check in and then you use your room key like a charge card. You can buy anything anywhere pretty much with it. When you check out they will give you a print out of everything that was charged to your room. The nice thing about doing this is that you don't have to go to the front desk to check out, just leave because they already have a card number to charge everything off on. The night before you leave or early in the morning they will hang and envelope on your door with the print out and you are set to go .

You can charge just about anything. There a few small places that don't take it (there is an ice tea spot at AK that won't) and sometimes the machines at the ice cream carts or popcorn stands don't always work so I always have a little cash with me.

The different level of resorts do have different limits. The limit at a value is $500 (not sure what the others are). All you have to do is go the front desk (or call) and they can charge your CC and reset your limit. The problem is the resort doesn't warn you if you're getting close. I've been cut off while in the parks.
