Charging IPOD'S

Please can anyone help, we have two IPODS that will need charging while we are at the All Star Sports.
Is there a public area where we can charge these little things up?

You can purchase portable chargers and not have to use a computer.

I have the iGo charger system that I got at Radio Shack. It comes with one tip (your choice) and you can purchase additional ones for less than $10. It charges so much faster than using a USB port. I also have tips for my Palm Pilot, kids Nintendo DS, etc. I never liked the USB charge part of the iPods. They also have car charger ones too that use the same tips.

I have a cell phone that does that.. but it came with a standard charger that has a USB plug on one end.. and the power plug on the other.

Yeah, that part of the iPod sux, but other than that I love ours!

Ya know, maybe it's because with them being sold worldwide it's so they don't have to deal with the voltage thing. (?)

Yep, they're usually something like $20-$30, you plug it into any wall outlet and the USB from your iPod plugs into that. I'm planning on buying one for home just because I don't always feel like turning on the computer to get it charged.

I bought my wall charger on ebay. They usually cost much less than the store and come in a bundle with a car charger too.It even had 2 free skins thrown in for good measure. I have found ebay to be he go to place for all my lost cords.

I bought a kit like that for DDs shuffle, but I like this system from RS better, I also have tips for their digital cameras (also charge through the USB) and you can get them for most cell phones. It keeps me from having to keep up with a million chargers.

You can buy a charger that fits onto the USB cord and plug it into a wall. That's what I'd suggest unless you want to bring a computer. No, the IPOD doesn't come with a charger...they want you to buy one.

If I was going to have the Ipod sitting out and charging...it'd be overnight. I would not leave it out in the room during the day. Bring it with you, or lock it in the room safe.

i bought (through apple store) a USB Power Adapter for my ipod...i think the cost was 29.99....plug in anywhere! It's compatible with shuffle, nano, mini and ipod video

I have bought three Ipods, a mini, a video and a nano, and none of them came with chargers. The one I bought works with all three. I will now need an adapter so I can charge an Ipod in France.

It depends on how old your iPod is if it came with a charger... My first gen came with a firewire wall charger. MY newer iPod video did not. I got the usb wall charger from Apple.

Beware of the multipurpose chargers and cheap car chargers... They can fry your iPod. Not all will, but i have had 2 friends loose theirs to cheap car chargers. I lost a cell phone with a multipurpose charger. I figure I have a lot of $$$$ invested in my iPod, I would rather spend a few dollars more and have a charger designed to put out the proper current for my iPod. Also using non "authorized" chargers can void your warranty.

Search isn't working at the moment, but I started a thread a few weeks ago where if you were new to Google Checkout they gave you $10 off your first purchase. Then using a code for discounted shipping, you could get a wallcharger for four cents shipped. Mine works GREAT, well worth each of those four pennies, LOL!

Anyway, if the search happens to work later (we get these odd windows of working search, LOL) try and find my old posts. I'll try and keep an eye open as well and post if I find it. I don't know if the deal is still good or not because I can't find the thread.
