We are heading off to "home" in 2 weeks. We want our DS's to be able to charge back to the room and wondered if the ice cream venders take KTTW cards or cash only. Anyone know?

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question although I do have another question. I thought the kids cards didn't have charging privledges attached to them. Can you request that?

You can have room charges placed on any or all of your keys. It's at the adult's discretion. ;)

I know some of the ice cream vendors take the room keys, I noticed a couple of places that had signs stating they didn't so I'm going to guess the majority of them now do.

From what I have read, if the carts have a telephone connection they can take the room charge. I believe they are in the process of getting most or all of them the connections.
I also agree that the adult whose name the reservation is in can determine who can and cannot have charge privileges.

We returned on Monday of this week and we were able to charge at the carts we bought ice cream or drinks from. I didn't see any that didn't allow charging, but we obviously didn't check them all.

The only one I noticed with a sign saying the couldn't charge your room key was at Epcot and was one of those espresso stands. I think it was near Mission Space but I'm not sure.

I just got back from a week and then again last weekend. I never had a problem with any of the vendors accepting the card. I did, however, have a problem with the cards scanning. I was told by some of the vendors, who had to end up manually keying in all the numbers, that the cards are thinner than usually credit/debit cards and sometimes don't scan. I would advise you to bring alternative methods of payment, just in case. A good trick one of the vendors used was to wrap a piece of thin gift paper around the card and he then ran it through. Worked like a charm!
