I have totally given up hope that I will be able to retrieve my reservation on 10/27 when I can make my ADRs. The good thing is that I will be abel to make ADRs for my entire trip since all days will then be in the 180 days window. My only concern is that since my reservation will not be linked to the ADRs it will not show that I am on the dining plan. The worse thing that will happen is that I will have to pay for CRT, right? Has anyone had to pay up front and then get refunded afterwards since you were on the dining plan? How does that work? Can you call the dining number and tell them that you booked it on-line, but are on the dining plan?

Thanks everyone!

From what I understand, in order to refund the prepayment before you arrive they will have to cancel and rebook your reservation. If you can't get it to work online, you're likely going to have to either pay the full price and have it refunded when you get there, hope the phone agent is able to rebook you for the same date, time and party size, or wait and do it all on the phone.

i booked on line and found a late CRT reservation so i went and added it to my cart, When i went to check out it wanted to charge me the full amount even though i signed into my reservation. I cancelled it and resigned in first to my reservation, then when i check it out in my cart, i was not charged but had to put my CC for gaurantee only. If you are in doubt, i would call that one in to get them to book it as dinign plan so you are not charged.

There are a couple of problems to waiting and doing it on the phone -

CRT is extremely popular.
October 27 will be the day everyone who wants reservations up to April 26 is going to be either on the phone or trying to book online.
I would imagine that someone who scored CRT online early wouldn't want to give it up to wait for the phone line to open.
However, there have been a LOT of problems with the online system not recognizing that guests trying to book a prepaid reservation are on the dining plan, so they've had to pay the full price in order to book online. They can always book at full price and get a refund when they arrive and say they want to pay with dining credits, but I'd imagine that most folks don't want Disney holding their money for up to 180 days before it gets refunded. The best they can hope for is that the system works the way it's supposed to and retrieving the resort reservation at the time of online booking will also retrieve the dining plan information. If it doesn't, and they try again and it still doesn't, the only way to get a refund earlier than arrival would be to have a phone agent cancel the current reservation and rebook it with the dining plan information entered (which might not be possible given the popularity of CRT).

Waiting for the phone line to open gives the online guests a jump on you - and on October 27 it will probably be a bear to get through to WDW-DINE anyway unless you're one of the first callers through. It's definitely a catch-22. If I wanted CRT really badly I'd just plan on paying the full price for it, book online and get a refund upon arrival.

TwoGirlsandDisney, I can't get my ressie to link to my profile either (I'm getting that stupid error code ending in 5001) and I thought I'd have to call in ADR's- thank you so much for reminding me that since all my days fall in the 180 day window starting the 27th I can make them online and a CM on the phone can link them to my res later!! :woohoo:(we've confirmed that's true correct?) I have NO IDEA why I didn't think of that myself. Delicious food and 3 am wakeup call, here I come!!

There really isn't any reason to link your ADRs to your resort reservation after you have already made them. The only thing you MUST do that for - besides prepaid reservations on the dining plan - is for +10 booking. I don't think linking after the fact is going to get you a refund on a prepaid reservation if you've already made the payment - I've seen here that the only way to do that is to cancel and rebook.

This happened to me. I booked a CRT dinner for our upcoming Oct. trip and was charged for all 7 of us!:scared1: We're on the deluxe dining plan too so I was pretty annoyed. I called Disney Dining and the cast member tried to re-book but of course there wasn't anything available. So, she told me that when I get to CRT, tell them I was charged but want to use my dining credits for the meal. They'll refund your credit card and it takes about 10 business days. Good luck!:goodvibes

In booking this, does the on line booking begin at 12:01 a.m. on the 27th or do we wait until the next morning when the phone lines open. I guess I am wondering if I can book it the night before.

Exactly. I know if I wait until 7 am to make the call, there will be nothing left for CRT. We are there President's week, so it will be tough to even get it on-line. Hoping that the system is actually working that day, and it doesn't crash with all the traffic that will be on. As much as I don't want to pay interest on my credit card until we get to Disney, it is so worth it if I get the CRT ressie. I want to book Hoop Dee Doo too, but I will wait to call for that one. But, as far as we know I can get refunded at the restaurant the day of?

On-line is supposed to open at 6am, but so many people on here have said they were able to start at 3am.

I did not realize I had been charged for the full amount of CRT (had deluxe dining plan and was logged in under my ressie) until my bank called to say my account bounced because I had been charged $550 by Disney. I called and asked what had happened and the CM was nice and refunded my money which took 7 WORKING DAYS. Luckily I was able to book CRT back within 5 minutes of original time. My thing is I never saw the charge go through on the online ADRs. It said it needed a credit card guarantee!!! Needless to say not too happy with online ADRs.:headache:

This exact same thing happened to me. I talked to a CM and was told the same thing...so that is what we'll be doing too! Thankfully it was only for 4 of us...
