Charge limit to room - process question

Is it correct that:
  1. Upon check in you supply a credit card
  2. You may charge up to $1500 to your room (for a deluxe/DVC)
  3. When you hit the $1500 point, Disney charges your card on file and then you "start over"

Right? A DVC owner told me his credit card on file was charged daily during a stay over Christmas, which goes against the process as I understand it above (and in fact have experienced it myself).

I have never heard of them charging a CC on file daily, but I have heard and had it happen to me where they charged my CC that they will charge a CC
Thanks! But otherwise the process as I laid it out above is correct, yes?
Not always! I can tell you that we had our CC charged only 3 days into our trip when we reached the 50% plateau. The CM said that if a customer uses 50% in only a few days they will charge your CC. Luckily for me, I go down every few days to pay off our room charges using our GC, so I had them reverse it.

Thanks...this is helpful and good to know!

So the limit is $2000 but...if you get close to $2000 and too soon....then it's not $2000? They may as well say it's a million but they're going to charge me once I get to $1000. :-)

Sort of...last trip they did NOT automatically charge our balance once we hit our limit and we were declined trying to buy a lemonade.

I've had to call the club desk on at least half of our trips because the limit was reached and not charged. It is kind of annoying, to be honest. Once, I was calling the Stone Harbor Club at Beach Club and the phone just rang and rang until the call got transferred to YC and then they had to send me back. It took 20 minutes to take care of it. I really just wish it were automatic every time as we have never not gone over the limit and sometimes more than once a trip which is not that hard to do if you are paying OOP for meals for 12 days.
