Characters...

You know where they should put the villains? In Pleasure Island. "Big Kids" respond better to villains, and where else would "big kids" hang out?

Someone set up a great character website:wdwautographs.com. They have pictures of just about every character, their autographs, where they found them and how common/rare they are in the parks. A couple of the autographs we got I couldn't match with our pictures (some of the rare characters I had never seen before) so I checked out this site and found matches.

Mulan ususally makes daily appearances in China over by the Reflections of China movie. Check the CMs for her schedule.

I don't yet know what characters are planned for MNSSHP. It's too early to tell, though that is when you are most likely to see rarer characters- last year they had Kingdom Hearts characters in Tomorrowland!

The Incredibles have been evicted from the animation building as of July 17! Rumors have it that they will start appearing in Tomorrowland but no word yet. Replacing them in the animation building is Chicken Little and his friend Abby Mallard. They are also appearing as the grand mashalls for MGM's parade, although goodness knows why they are appearing 4 months before their film's released!

Don't count on meeting any face characters at MGM, they only make one appearance before the parade, and that's it. The rest are at the hat, and are furries.
On normal days, unless something has really changed very recently, there usually are face characters at MGM! They meet in the area right after you enter the park - they usually meet from roughly noonish to 2:30/3:00ish, on half-hour intrevals. So they come out for about a half-hour, then inside for a half-hour, then out again. I guess they have about three greeting sessions a day, though I known them to skip days here and there! Usually there are quite a few face characters. On our April trip we visited MGM twice, and collectively we saw Pocahontas, Jasmine, Aladdin, Hercules, Mulan, Snow White, Snow White Queen, and Mary Poppins. Some "furs" appear here, too. But it seems the Big Hat usually has all "fur" characters nowadays, which are mainly the classics (Goofy, Minnie, Pluto Chip, Dale, etc), Pooh characters, Lilo and Stitch, and a handful of others. :)

I sure hope this hasn't changed, as the "face" rotation at MGM is one of my favorite character hunting grounds!!

Edited to add: The heat can affect their meeting and greeting - thanks for the info!

:)

Thanks! Nice to know the site helps fellow DISers with their character quests!!!! :) :) :cloud9:

Angiebelle - thanks for the update about the Incredibles!!

Where and when is Buss and Woody? Need info ASAP. Thanks for and input...

We found them at Al's Toy Barn at MGM. We also found Buzz in Tomorrowland (right next to Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin) and Woody, Bullseye and Jessie in Frontierland in WDW.

Thanks Hugsforeyeore, that's a great site. I had seen it a few months back, but lost the link. Glad to find it again! I would love to track as many characters down as I could, but unfortunately my DS4 isn't quite so willing! For some reason he wants to go on those ride things instead!!!!!! I think he would love to meet Brer Rabbit though, Splash Mountain is his ultimate favorite.

I also have visited your site several times :flower: It's one of my favorite character location websites, I really love the pics, and how hard it is to meet some of them.

As of last week, there was only one meet and greet at MGM Studios with face characters and that was 3:30 until about 3:50. With the heat and 2 shows of Fantasmic there is only one meet and greet. Since we are the "MGM Face Character Stalkers" that was a little better for us, forced us to do other things at WDW. LOL :)

Hello fellow "MGM Face Character Stalker!" :teeth:

Thanks - that explains it! I would have been bummed out! I never been in the summer months, and I guess I am glad since character hunting is far better during the cooler months! I hope the MGM face characters resume their normal rotation soon! :)

That's too bad. I'll be heading out to MGM in a few weeks and I'm not sure I can get over to see them if they're only out for one set. Besides, I might feel bad possibly taking time with the characters from a child when the characters are out for such a short amount of time. Oh well. I'm sure I won't have any trouble finding other things to do there. ::yes::

I object to the term "character stalkers", as it has described me personally in the past, hence the creation of the following rules I subjected to myself since "The Thing":
  • I cannot take video of characters. Only still photos
  • I cannot "play" with the characters, as they have other people to meet.
  • I cannot talk directly to the characters. That would test the extent of their "history", and the Character Bosses don't like that.
Having said that, I am still amazed that I am still able to meet characters without getting funny looks from the Character Bosses.

 Oops. Didn't mean to post this in the thread. Please ignore.

BuddyGenie, I'll send you a Private Message.

Thanks for the info about Chicken Little and Abby Mallard! Do they both sign autographs (or do they stamp)?

Amy :)

Tell me what characters you are interested in meeting, and I'll let you know where you are most likely to see them. :)

I saw a picture in a signature earlier today of Rabbit (Pooh's Rabbit). How often and where does he make an appearance?

Rabbit appeared with Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet at the book and toy store in the UK Pavillion at Epcot.
Poohfriends.jpg

Alice also makes an appearance there, and she gets the best spot; right at the kid's craft area. Not only that, I believe her accent is 100% authentic.

Well where to start, I was in the world between July 2nd - 16th and there were characters to be found everywhere.

We saw...

Mickey Minnie (both seperately and posing together in front of the castle) Donald
Daisy
Goofy
Pluto
Chip and Dale
Lilo
Stitch
Woody
Buzz
Jessie
Various Bears from The Country Bear Jamboree
Peter Pan
Wendy
Captain Hook
Smee
Cruella De Vill
Robin Hood
Prince John
Friar Tuck
Baloo
King Louie
Timon
Terk
Pooh
Tigger
Eeyore
Piglet
Cinderella
Mice
Sleeping Beauty
Belle (both blue village dress and yellow gown)
Ariel
Snow White
All 7 dwarves
Aladdin
Jasmine
Genie
Jafar
Mulan
Mushu
Kenai
Koda
Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee
White Rabbit
Alice
Pinoccio
Gepeto
Gideon
Nemo
Meeko
Governor Radcliffe

they are the main ones that I can remember although I am pretty sure there are more that have slipped my mind right now ::MinnieMo

Abby Mallard and Chicken Little both sign. They have the cutest backdrop! It has fake grass, a fake sidewalk, and a pretty blue sky background with a piece fallen on the ground. :)

Rabbit is rare, but he is most likely to be found in UK in Epcot or in Pooh's room in Toontown. He is not scheduled to make regular appearances at this time. Generally, when you do see him, it's because they had a spare character performer in his heightrange, and no one in that heightrange called in sick!
