Characters?

Hi. My 12 year old is wanting to go after autographs at the parks. Just wondering if they have good books st the parks for us or should we get something back at home? (Canada) Also, she loves the characters STITCH, PIGLET and THUMPER. Stitch and Piglet are not a problem, we just need to know where we can find them, but Thumper is a problem.

Disney Autograph Books are of good quality. The simple blue book with micky and gang on the cover is about $7. There is also an autograph/photo book where you'll have the autograph on one side and a picture of your child/family with the character on the other page. This is about $12-$14. If this is your kids first disney autograph book, I would not skimp and buy the offical disney book. If you plan on buying the disney book....I would suggest this as your first purchase as soon as you check in to your hotel or arrival at the park and bring it along with you everwhere you go. You'll never know when you'll run into characters and you sure don't want to be caught without your book.

My kids had the disney autograph book two years ago. My boys enjoy looking at it from time to time. This year when we go, instead of the autograph book, I've purchased colorful 4x6 card stock. ($3 /100 cards at local ragshop) We'll get signatures and then put them side by side with the photo in our photo album.

Actually, Thumper is a character at Disney World! But unfortunately, he is VERY rare and hardly ever makes appearances. He probably comes out a handful of times a year, if that much! The most recent appearances I heard about Thumper was that he was meeting at Animal Kingdom in the Spring of 2005 when the Bambi DVD came out. He was also at Mickey's Halloween parties in 2004, though he was not out at every party, which shows how hit-or-miss some characters can be!

I'm not even sure where to suggest to even look for Thumper! We saw him after entering Magic Kingdom. You could ask at Guest Services but usually they are useless for rare characters. They seem to only know popular characters in predictable locations.

Best of luck - But who knows? Sometimes you never know what characters could be out!

We were there spring 05 and was told he was at AK. We looked around, but missed him. sure was looking forward to seeing him.

Our DD9 is an autograph nut. I have put together a spredsheet useing many websites and tips. If you are interested drop me a message and leave your email address, I'll be happy to send it to you.

I have heard of Thumper at WDW(have never seen him myself), but it is supposed to be very hard to find him. I suggest asking a CM everyday they can tell you if he will be out.

Can't offer any advice on Thumper -- sounds hard to find. As far as Stitch, we always find him at MGM by Playhouse Disney (not sure why). Also, the Pooh characters have a great meet and greet in Animal Kingdom. It is "off the beaten path" between the entrance and Dinoland. We have never seen many people there, so the kids get great individual time with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore.

Gift shops at resorts, parks and DTD all have them along with big chunky pens and pencils characters like. i've never seen Thumper or Bambi - think I might have seen Flower walking around once.
